I had weight loss surgery by Mr Almerie at The Pines Hospital under Phoenix health. The care I have received from start to finish has been second to none all the staff have been amazing and I couldn’t thank them all enough.

Very friendly and helpful service. Dieticians have fab helpful tools and tips to get you through any tough times. So glad I had the balloon it's changed my attitude and thought process with how I deal with food. Definitely a tool to help you for the longer term.

I had my Mini Bypass with Phoenix Health at the Pines yesterday. From start to finish the care has been absolutely amazing. Staff are so caring and my consultant Mr Almerie is fantastic. Also a Dr Francis who is a pro at taking bloods! Would recommend to anyone. Thank you so much Phoenix Health.

Like all people who are considering weight loss surgery, taking the fist step making that phone call is always the hardest, then the worry about finding right trust is always a massive worry because you hear all the horror stories. Well I would like to share my experience with you. I was recommended by a friend to this trust and it’s had been the best thing I’ve ever done. I had my surgery at Blackheath Hospital Oct 2021, (gastric sleeve) The Pre-op diet although hard , was much easier then other trust diets and therefore I was able to follow it. Due to my weight, my main concern was I wouldn’t make it through the surgery and I wouldn’t wake up but my wonderful surgeon and anesthetist reassured me and this put me at ease. My surgery went very smoothly and when I woke up I had no pain, and the aftercare was fantastic. Within 12hrs after surgery I was walking around the ward and feeling great. I cannot thank my surgeon, all the nurses and aftercare I received. I have now lost 11st in 1 year (76% of my body fat. This is above average ) because glue was used, my scares are barely visible. I cannot thank them all enough for giving me my life back and I also now have a wonderful future. If you are considering this type of surgery, I would recommend this trust 100%

I had a sleeve gastrectomy with Phoenix at Alexandra Hospital Cheadle and my surgeon was Mr Alan Li who went out of his way by ringing me prior, to allay my fears of whether this was the correct surgery for me. And what a very neat job he did, I keep showing off my war wounds as they are so neat. Definitely recommend Mr Li as he is a very skilled bariatric surgeon. Mr Abass the Anesthetist was brilliant as I wasn't sick much afterwards. All the nursing staff was fantastic but my favourites have to be Beth and Sam. Sam was the first person I saw when I came round...or the first person I remember. He kept popping in to check I was OK as I was very groggy. And held my hair as I was a little sick. Beth kept my spirits up, kept me laughing. But honestly all the nurses was helpful and supportive. The rest of the staff: food & beverage, cleaners, admin were lovely too. I actually tried to wangle another night I loved it that much and was nervous to go home. But Sam from Phoenix popped to see me before I went home to check I had everything I needed and to see if I had any questions. And I did ring her on the emergency number when I was worried at home. She was brilliant with lots of advise and had me sorted. Lisa the nurse rang after a few days of being home to see how I was getting on and answered a few questions I had. Revisioal surgery I had my Surgery on the 17th August 2022. despite being cancelled a few times due to the fact that my blood levels where not sustainable as I have a blood disorder which causes my blood not to clot easilly and the surgeon needed more medical advice from my haematologist.But the whole experience was very well managed from start to finish. All the team at phoenix worked hard for me to get the op . Sam the nurse was fab as well as the other background staff for it to be done. My surgeon was Mr Alan li and he was fab.and very thorough.I was very nervous about the anaesthetic and tbh if I was to have another anaesthetic tomorrow by my abass I would not even be scared. My whole experience has been nothing but very positive and I can hand on heart recommend Phoenix Health

I had my Operation on 21st Oct 2021 and the whole experience was very well managed from start to finish. My surgeon was Ms Jennifer Darrien and she was excellent both before and post op. I have had lots of post op support and reviews with Phoenix Health and if anyone is looking to have weight loss surgery (I had a gastric sleeve), I can hand on heart recommend Phoenix Health.

I knew this was one of the biggest decisions I would ever make and I desperately wanted to be healthy. I can only say I wish I had done this 10 years ago. It is life changing and although it seems daunting and such an extreme measure to take it was the right decision for me. My surgeon was Jennifer Darrien and I had a mini bypass in October 21 so I’m 7 months post op. I have lost 4 and half stone but I had 6 stone to lose in total so this is a huge achievement for me. I have gone from a size 18 to a healthy size 12 and feel so much better in mind and body. I soul searched a great deal before having this operation as it is permanent and you do have to be willing to make changes but i have no regrets. This operation helps so many people and I’m so grateful. I have struggled with my weight for many years and I have done every diet there is!! It was time to draw the line and admit I needed intervention. Yes the hospital was fab yes I felt safe in ms Darrow’s hands yes the post op care and pre op care is fantastic and yes you get the support you need. For most of you reading this right now I know you are considering having the operation and if I could ring you all up and tell you about my experience I would. My advise would be do it!!! Follow the rules they give you and listen to the advice and you’ll be fine. I can pretty much eat anything I want but I do limit sugar and I feel totally satisfied after every meal and I never feel like I’m missing out. It is hard to understand this pre op I know but it’s true. Small plates become normal. I wish you all well with your journey xx

I spent 2 nights at the Nuffield Chester following surgery with Mr Stewart. The entire team from Louie who met me onwards were wonderful. I genuinely cannot say a bad word. I have been given all the information that I needed, the support calls have been right on time. The hospital was clean, staff friendly and I felt safe during my surgery/post op period. I only wish that they had premises in Scotland

There is nothing more i can other than thank you!! The people at Phoenix are amazing. Every step of the way there is somebody holding your hand and guiding you through it. I am currently 2 months post gastric bypass and the aftercare is of the highest quality. Nothing to ever too much trouble and no question or concern is ever left un answered. Again thank you for giving me my life back to enjoy with my young family.

hi all hope this helps future patients. Pre-op appoints and consultations, where most informative. Pre-op bloods and covid tests carried out. On day of surgery greeted by a man called Louie, he was so kind and helpful, i had few questions he answered everything i asked, he took me to my room and asked me some questions for the check in forms. He was fantastic thank you Louie. was checked in by my nurse Karen, more pre-op questions before actual surgery, again Karen was so professional and polite, kike i had known her for ages. was put in my gown, then waited for my time slot, walked down corridor to my theatre. after surgery, staff where so amazing and caring and did everything they could despite my pain. All the staff i must say where professional yet so caring always asking if i needed anything or could they help me. Louisa was also amazing nurse for my care during my short stay. overall i would whole heartedly reccommend the Nuffield and ALL staff including catering, for any of your surgical procedures. room was ensuite so clean and tidy with tv and wifi. would reccommend you getter better wi-fi though.

I literally don’t know we’re to begin, from admin, catering, theatre, nurses, surgeons,doctors, pharmacy and cleaning staff the care I received has been outstanding. The expert advice and guidance I received for the bypass and repair of a hernia has been given to me in a none judgmental manner, no shame or guilt attached to it. You guys have literally saved my life I’m not sure I can put it into words. From the bottom of my great full heart thank you, a massive thank you also must go out to the commission who had faith in me, when sometimes due to waiting times i didn’t.

Phoenix Health are amazing, I had a One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) through the NHS at the Nuffield Hospital in Chester in march 2022, Phoenix Health was the Health care provider. They were fabulous! I had everything explained to me clearly at earlier appointments, any questions I had were answered & made to feel totally informed, listened to & well taken care of. My operation went really well, the consultant came to see me the next day & assured me everything had gone to plan. The staff at the Nuffield took very good care of me & I was disharged after spending 2 nights there. I was given lots if aftercare information & numbers to call if I had any problems or questions etc. My aftercare so far is great, I had a call from Phoenix the following week, and another after 4 weeks with other calls scheduled in the near future. I highly recommend Phoenix Health.

I had M.U.A on my knee in Hospital I was put on a CLM machine and I thought this would help me at home to recover. A look on Google led me to Phoenix Health, one phone call to enquire, Tracey was BRILLIANT .I decided to hire one, I rang back the next day, ordered one,[Tracey again] it arrived the next day. It was used every day for 5 weeks for at least 2 hours, and it REALLY helped. I would Highly recommend Phoenix Health to anybody. The whole process was easy [including the return] and Tracey was so pleasant to deal with 5 STARS!!!! at least... Thank You.............Robin

I hardly ever write reviews but I really wanted to share my experience on here for anybody considering weight loss surgery. I was due to have a RNY bypass with another organisation just before Covid hit and as such it was cancelled. I wrongly believed that all providers were doing the same so I just waited to hear when my surgery was going to happen. After speaking to a friend she advised me that private hospitals were still doing bariatric surgery. I then did my research and contacted a number of providers as I was not sure, given my very high BMI, that anyone would be willing to take me on. After having such lovely correspondence with Phoenix, finding a female consultant (very important to me as I love women supporting women) and reading some brilliant reviews on here, I asked to be taken on by Miss Jennifer Darrien. Miss Darrien spoke to me at length about the different procedures available for me and we decided that the gastric sleeve was the best option for me. I cannot stress to you how Miss Darrien treated me with the utmost respect and never once did I feel embarrassed about my weight. I had the surgery on the 28th February at the Grosvenor Nuffield Chester. Miss Darrien visited me before surgery, later on that day and the next day to check up on my progress. It has gone seamlessly and I have lost 52 pounds since the 1st February. I cannot thank Miss Darrien enough and the entire Phoenix team plus the incredible staff at the Grosvenor (thanks for putting up with all of the talk of my budgie) for their support. You treated me with respect, dignity and kindness and, for someone conscious about their weight, that means everything.

Had surgery on 28th feb 2022 with Mrs Darrien. She managed to do a one anastomosis despite scar tissue due to previous abdominal surgery. The care pre op was amazing with all members of the team. And can’t fault the after care it’s been amazing would highly recommend. Never known a surgeon to visit you so much all though I don’t remember speaking to her in recovery was pretty sleepy lol, and take such good care of you and even though operating at a different hospital on day of my discharge she said if I need to see her she would come over afterwards!! They put you at easy, friendly and easy to talk to. Had my procedure at Grosvenor Nuffield Hospital in Chester all the staff there are amazing and look after you so well nothing was to much trouble.

Can not fault the service here at all really made me feel comfortable from start to finish kept informed at all times of everything going on,great room well done to the staff would totally recommend.
