I left my initial reviews of the products I received from this company on their website; but surprisingly (not) Maine Lobster Now chose not to make them public. I expected, but did not receive, any communication from the company regarding the issues I had with my order so I am now making my concerns available for public viewing. This will be a lengthy review, but at its conclusion I will make sure to state that I would never, ever, order from this company again. I only ordered three items, but I paid $130 for products that were blatantly misrepresented and very poor shipping standards. First, and I think the worst item I ordered, was the Hickory Smoked Lobster Dip. The product description was smoked lobster with a mixture of sour cream and garlic. What I received was a package of preservatives, smoke flavoring, and a minimal amount of lobster. Nothing fresh here, folks. This product is a total bait and switch. See photos for ingredients versus the description on their website. The flavor was artificial and left a nasty taste in the mouth. It went into the garbage as inedible. Secondly was the pound of lobster tail meat I ordered. The website touts "fresh caught". Not true. The lobster tail meat I received was labeled as fresh three days before I even ordered it and had a two day expiration date. The label reads it was "packaged for Maine Lobster Now", so not caught fresh BY THEM as their website infers. I was supposed to receive whole, cooked lobster tails at $60 for a pound. I received mangled pieces of lobster tails instead. Not only were they shredded, but what we received was tough and chewy, so much so that we didn't even eat it all. It was simply too much work to eat it! We have gotten better Maine lobster from a local food truck that has it flown in fresh WEEKLY. The uneaten portion of the lobster I ordered from Maine Lobster Now was garbage as well. The third product I ordered was the Jumbo Sea Scallops - U-10- 1 lb (Diver Scallops). I only received 8 in my order. Although they were some of the best Scallops I've had, I only received 8, and that made a big difference in our dinner party of three where the other items were inedible. These items were delivered in a Styrofoam cooler with a sheet of bubble wrap and a gel ice pack. I live in Florida! Needless to say, everything was soaked through and almost room temperature. Thank goodness I intended to eat it immediately, otherwise it would have been garbage. As previously stated, I left a review on their website that was not made public. In fact, there is no choice on their website to even see prior reviews. I opted to search Google and found that they have been reported to the BBB, and have many negative reviews on several sites as well. I wish I had done my due diligence and investigated them before splurging on a a special occasion using Maine Lobster Now. According to the negative reviews given, their customer service is is less than stellar. My advice? Keep looking. Their prices and shipping seem reasonable, but you truly get what you pay for. In my case, I paid $130 for 8 Scallops.
I have ordered from them twice and both times the quality and value was excellent. There was a minor glitch with my second order. When I contacted customer service, they dealt with the issue immediately and actually did more to make me happy than I expected. Thank you Taylor G. and Maine Lobster Now!
I recommend Maine Lobster Now. The crab legs were huge and fantastic. We did have a problem with the mussels which was due to transportation and not the fault of Maine Lobster Now however Taylor helped us to get a refund with ease. I truly suggest using Maine Lobster Now as they have quality products and service. Thank you guys. Our 4th of July was over the top thanks to your product
I can not caution strongly enough against ordering lobsters from Maine Lobster Now. I ordered nine lobsters from them. The ordering process was simple and well designed and the price was pretty good, however, everything else was less than desirable. Nine lobsters arrived on the requested date, however, they were not packaged as described on the site with seaweed - only gel packs, bubble wrap, and cardboard. One lobster was DEAD on arrival. I called their support, talked to a representative and was told that sometimes this happens, it’s too late to do anything about it and that I should have ordered extra lobsters to account for this. Needless to say, pretty disappointed that a ‘live lobster guarantee’ actually means order extra because ‘sometimes this happens’. I removed the dead lobster from the batch and stored the rest according to their specifications (with the exception of seaweed since they weren’t packed with any). I went to cook the lobsters four hours after they arrived, however, by this time I had one more clearly DEAD lobster and another TWO lobsters that appeared to be DEAD or almost dead as they were not moving at all but with small bubbles coming from their orifice. I contacted their support again, described the situation, and was given a refund for a single lobster. We ordered enough lobsters for our dinner party and unfortunately, we wound up with five lobsters for nine people and a $23 refund. I’ve been hosting a lobster boil every year for about eleven years now and this is the first time that I’ve used this company and the first time I’ve had any dead lobsters let alone four. Their packaging seems to be inadequate and not even up to their own standards listed on the site while their customer support is useless. Again, while it might be tempting to take advantage of their free shipping, it is clearly free for a reason.
Ordered 50 lobsters in mid June for a party on July 4th. Checked in on July 1st and they were "being packaged for shipment". On July 3rd they canceled my order with no phone call, no email, no notice whatsoever. I only found out when I checked to see where they were. That's just a bad way to do business. The lesson here is: Buy local! This place is too undependable.
I am from the Cape Cod area now living in Dallas Texas. I love Main Lobster Now! Excellent product and excellent service. When that box comes I feel like I'm back on the Cape. Thank you MLN!
Wanted live lobsters for Fathers Day but we ordered too late..received the four pack 2-21/2 pounders...all were alive and kicking and the tail and claw meat was sweet and succulent! We will definitely order again...no reason to search locally as long as there are mail order companies like these guys! We enjoy lobster on birthdays and holidays and these were perfect!
Zero stars if I could. Their overnight delivery is full of crap $600 order down the drain. They obviously dont care about their customers. I put in an order a month ahead. Even called the day before delivery to make sure itll be here in time for fathers day... the guy said yes! Its going out tonight.. nothing arrived. No phone call no nothing!!!!! I had to make the call first and find out that these lazy bums didn't do their part and ship my lobsters out. I had a huge party that day with no lobsters.. the idiot on the phone sounded like he didnt have no care in the world.
Ordered lobsters for father’s day. Maine lobster now did not include the apartment number. FedEx called them when they couldn’t deliver and were given the apartment number. FedEx could not redeliver that same day. When the package arrived, my father received dead lobsters for father’s day. Customer service was extremely rude. They refused to take responsibility. Don’t order from them. If something goes wrong, they won’t do anything

So, I’ll be honest. Spent $270 and when the package arrived and I opened it I was extremely disappointed. All the items were supposed to be in portioned vacuum sealed bags. I got a Ziplock bag with everything SLOPPED inside. The packaging of the whole order was despicable. I called customer service who basically said sorry... Offered no compensation and said I should have gotten a picture. When you Pay top $$ and you don’t get what you ordered you should automatically be offered a refund of some sort. Ohh, and they forgot to ship one item. Crazy, Sad Customer Service and really didn’t care.
Got a wonderful box of live lobsters, scallops, lobster bisque, awesome maine corn and a butter warmer - all for $112.00. Unbelievable. I've been having and treating friends to amazing seafood for several days, and I still have more. Definitely recommend and will order from you again. Thank you!
Order arrived by date requested. Lobster was alive and everything else was still frozen.
I recently ordered Live Lobster, Large Scallops, and Marshall Cove Maine Mussels. This was the best seafood dinner I have had in many years. I wish I would have found MLN a long time ago. Very fresh seafood, very fast shipping, nicely packed, and all Lobster alive and happy, and all at the best price online. Arrived all the way to Utah in less than 24 hrs after shipped. At first I was very upset because my package never came and it was for my daughter’s birthday. However Taylor reached out to me and offered to reship my full order! Even though I had a bad first experience I would still recommend MLN because their customer service worked with me until I was satisfied.
I ordered three lobster to be delivered prior to first week of May. They were not delivered. I called UPS, was referred to back to MLN, MaineLobsterNow. I spoke to a representative, Slade. He told me unless UPS called him then he could do nothing. A week of phone calls and back to Slade. Sorry, no investigation as UPS has not called us. More phone calls, back to Slade. Okay, I'll start an investigation. UPS, emails. to me, your package is missing. Your package is damaged. Your package is empty. We notified the sender is attached to each email. No refund. Called back today and Slade again answered the line. He did not seem happy to speak to me, a bit hard of hearing today also. He had me repeat the 5 digit order number three times, five minutes apart. He then said well, what do you want? I want a refund. All previous calls he kept trying to get me to reorder. Sorry, my wife's birthday was a month ago. We will see if we do get a refund. I think Slade should change his name to Surly, more fitting to his attitude toward customers.
Ordered a few Lobster Tail, Crab Meat, Bacon wrapped scallops and Lobster Mac. First That Lobster Mack Hit the Target 100% ***** Tails were Perfect! Great First time experience and I will be ordering again in the NEAR Future!!! Thanks for Speedy Delivery
I purchased 10 pounds of fiddleheads to be shipped to Florida after receiving a rotten bunch from another vendor. These came next day and they are beautiful, green and crisp! The ice packs were still frozen! Very pleased!
Not sure why all the negative reviews for their customer service. We placed an order and it arrived as expected. We were, however one soup short. When I contacted C\S, they quickly rectified the problem via a refund. No hassles, no problems. The food itself was wonderful. There were no cooking instructions in the box but they are on-line so that was not an issue. The filets were fork tender and the lobster was good as well. We will be ordering again.
