I purchased three separate orders of live lobsters as part of the holidays. In all three cases to different addresses in separate shipping containers, the lobsters came dead, and not frozen. When I called to ask what they were going to do, the ONLY answer they would give me is for me to take pictures and send them to Maine Lobsters Now. When I pushed the agent refused to take this any further until I provides such pictures. Simply put this is some of the worst customer service and customer product support any organization could be. I am holding off final judgement until I see what they do next as I just sent a picture. At is stands right now there is NOTHING positive I would state about Maine Lobsters Now and not recommend them
Pretty annoyed that the Lobster tails we ordered were not of the size promised. We ordered 3 large lobster tails. One looked to be the size that one of the other lobsters would have eaten for lunch (assuming they are cannibals). I even weighed them and two barely made the minimum weight within the range promised and the third wasn't even close (I wish I could attach a picture). We also ordered two smaller lobster tails and they weren't even close to the weight promised. They were the same size you can buy at Whole Foods for like $9 (when not on sale) but we paid $32 each. Pretty disappointing. I had a negative experience with them in the past and have ordered a couple other times. Now this. Tough to want to do order from them when there is a 50% chance your order will be incorrect or come with less than you paid for.
This was THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE/ COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. THEY COMPLETELY MESSED UP OUR ORDER FOR CHRISTMAS AND WERE NOT EVEN GOING TO TELL US UNTIL WE CALLED ON Christmas Eve. COMPLETELY RUINED OUR CHRISTMAS DINNER FOR US AND WERE NOT EVEN GOING TO TELL US ABOUT IT. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COMPANY AND I WOUKD NEVER RECOMMEND TO ANYONE
I decided to give my daughter, who lives in West Virginia, a Maine Lobster Dinner for her Birthday. I ordered clams, and lobster tails, and had them shipped to her home. Upon opening the order my daughter found one of the lobster tails to be green. Not knowing if this was a bad lobster tail, or part of the lobster, she cooked it, only to see it crumble apart while it was cooking. One quick small taste told her that it was indeed a problem. After my daughter contacted me about the problem, I contacted their customer service department and dealt with Nicole, and explained the situation. That’s when the “fun” began. The company says they guarantee your order will be fresh, but getting them to deal with that promise is a giant task. The first response from her, was an attempt to explain that, ‘we did not understand that the green part was just part of the lobster’ Then came the ‘you needed to take pictures ( it did say, in the fine print, to take pictures)’. I guess it is because they don’t believe you. After sending them pictures, came the, ‘you didn’t take the correct pictures at the correct time’. Finally I got a “ we could give you a store credit if you request one’. Well, after a battle just to get them to honor their guarantee, not much chance I’ll need a ‘store credit’. First, as a company that deals in perishable goods, it should be expected their will be issues (although it appears this issue came from them, as the lobster tails were frozen). Second, what kind of customer service is it, that you need to battle to have them honor their guarantee. Their product is VERY expensive, it is sad that their guarantee isn’t worth much, and is based on you jumping through a myriad of hoops before it is even considered. Update: my daughter got involved with Nicole and we did finally get a refund on the bad lobster. Lots of work for what should have been easy. Because of the final outcome I raised the railing to two stars.
Once again my order didn’t even show up. I paid two months in advance and even reached out to them a week before delivery to make sure things were good to go. Nope. Birthday came and went with no lobster. No returned emails, no returned phone calls, this is not the first time this has happened but I thought I would give it another try. Live and learn. $370.49 just up in the air, no comments, communications or anything. What a racket. Things better happen soon

I am so disappointed, the first order was broken king crab of which i did not order, so they did replace it with my order which was whole legs and not broken pieces. Needless to say, the quality is not good at all. They were old and no sweetness at all.I have spent almost $400 with NOW, I just all it NOW, because the only thing that resembles “Maine Lobster” is the prices. Its a knock off, thats for sure! Im so disappointed.
I had ordered 2 - 1 1/2 lb lobsters for his birthday from this Seller and received barely 2 1 lb lobsters. My Aunt had also ordered the same to be delivered to me and the ones that she sent were definitely between 1 1/2 - 2 lb lobsters. I contacted the company the next day and was told that there was nothing that they could do as I needed to contact them as soon as I received the product! Both shipments came on the same day but at very different times. The 1 1/2 lb lobsters were very lively but the less than 1 1/2 lbs were not moving as much. The company refused to assist me without pictures and without a kitchen scale showing how much each one weighed! Needless to say, I will never do business with them again and neither will my Aunt as she is very upset how they treated me since she had been a very good customer of theirs for over 5 years! You're taking a big risk using this company!! They refuse to help me without the pictures - does everyone have a kitchen scale these days???? What a ridiculous requirement - I have eaten lobster all my life and can tell what a 1 or 1 1/2 lb lobster is...don't think they do though!!!!
I bought 200 dollars in 3 lobsters on Monday 3rd of May to be delivered on saturday 8th for mothers day celebration. I contacted the seller on thursday 6th to make sure everything was going oK, and they answered th e delivery was organized for the 8th. Order did not arrive yesterday 8th, so I have to do new plans now and give excuses to mother and grandmother that had great expectations. Good prices and nice web sites that dont deliver!!.
I am from the Cape Cod area now living in Dallas Texas. I love Main Lobster Now! Excellent product and excellent service. When that box comes I feel like I'm back on the Cape. Thank you MLN!
My best friend spent well over $200 to send me what appeared could be a lovely meal to celebrate a monumental birthday during the pandemic...What I received was anything but that; a box which was probably damaged by FedEx but the contents was nothing near the way it is advertised online. No dry ice and it was left outside in the middle of the Florida Sun, Nothing to indicate perishable either to the delivery driver! Lobsters were dead & the steak spoiled. Wooppie pies were never even sealed in their plastic! Customer service Gave me a $25 credit what am I supposed to do with that?! Appreciate my friends kind gesture but feel so bad at the money wasted! Imagine how many people send these as gifts only to never know because the recipient feels bad telling the sender!!! Save your money!
We ordered 12 pounds of steamer clams mid March. First of all we only actually received 10.5 pounds. Of that there was another pound that was smashed and not safe to cook. The clams themselves were old, not fresh all. So we were shortchanged 2 and a half pounds for really old flaccid clams. I called, asked for a partial credit of $114.48 and the person said he would issue a credit. But he did not. This company os a loser. Overpriced, cheated on weight and of poor quality. AND they do not honer their promise to remedy the problem with a partial credit. Stay away.
I ordered TEN 8-10 oz lobster tails. Some were really small, some were large. One bag was open and you could see freezer burn on the lobster tail. I sent pictures of everything to the company and kept getting emails back that you could tell were "canned" because they didn't answer my questions and they thought I received dead lobsters. They said I would need pictures of the tails on a scale to prove all of this. I don't have a kitchen scale and these were ordered for a special occasion and were eaten after I took pictures of them in the bags. We have since eaten them and can't weigh them to prove ourselves. Two different customer service people responded and neither seemed to care that I got ripped off. The tails weren't very good either.
My sister surprised me on my birthday with 5 large, perfect live lobsters. They were delivered during a raging snowstorm (Denver) in pristine condition. We truly enjoyed every bite. The lobsters were chock full of sweet meat. Can’t beat a Maine lobster. I will be ordering again. No hesitations.
These lobster tails are disgusting! Ordered 6/7oz and 8/10 oz. They had no flavour and no sweetness at all. My company friends told me to just make hot dogs. They didn't eat any of this fish. Local Safeway and Sams club have much tastier lobster that tastes like lobster. Sweet and tender! Much lower price and very good lobs. This place sucks you in and delivers horrible tails. I won't spend another penny with this company. Their "lobster meat" is equally horrible.
BUYER BEWARE. On 2/12 we ordered 8, 3LB LIVE lobsters to be delivered on Valentines Day totaling over $500. The order arrived late. All the lobsters were 2 pounds and 4 arrived dead. Because of this, we had to cancel our dinner plans with clients. Upon contacting the company, the customer service was lackluster. We were transferred to a supervisor (Randal). He refused to refund our order, instead, would give us the credit amount for the "difference in weight". He also said that "our lobsters are not guaranteed to arrive Alive". We were shocked when he said this being that this company thrives on marketing their lobsters "LIVE"! We ended up speaking to a "Mitch" from marketing that apologized and credited our account. He made us feel better and said this wouldn't happen again. On 3/5 we decided to give the company another chance and order 4LB of "SUPER colossal crab" totaling over $300. To our dismay, our order once again arrived wrong! We received 3 crab legs totaling 2 pounds. We had to once again cancel our dinner plans due to the shortage. On Monday we called into the call center and spoke to (Ethan). He couldn't help us, instead, said that he would have a manager "Christine" call us back and HUNG UP on us. Christine called us back, apologized and said there was challenges at there warehouse regarding "quality control". She asked that I send pictures and videos showing the underweight product. She also said that because they handled our situation with a full refund the last order, they wouldn't be able to do much for us this time around. She offered to "refund us the difference in weight". What?! At this time, we are two seafood lovers born and raised in New England super frustrated, embarrassed, upset and over all disappointed in this company. The lack of quality control, Brand Experience and Customer service is certainly something to keep in mind when dealing with MAINE LOBSTER NOW. This company has fallen short on many levels.
We ordered for the first time from Maine Lobster Now a couple of weeks ago. We received our two lobster tails overnight as expected. We opened the box with excitement. We noticed there was a difference in the size of the two lobster tails that we ordered. We had ordered two of the same size range. One of the lobster tails appeared to be undersized for what we paid for. We then weighed the two lobster tail with my wife's baking scale. The scale proved correct that the tail was undersized. We took pictures and E-Mailed the company then called to discuss in person. We were on hold for quite some time but eventually someone answered. He was very understanding and corrected the problem by sending a replacement package that we received overnight. The lobster was fabulous!! We will order again especially with the excellent customer service that we received.
Food arrived overnight. So it spoiled. No one has picked up phone or answered emails so I can try to receive a refund since food was late and not consumable. Or on time for event date
Ordered lobster for Valentines dinner. Shipped Friday, 12 Feb with delivery scheduled for Saturday, 13 Feb. Did not arrive. Expected delivery on 14 Feb. Did not arrive. Now it is Monday, 15 Feb and the order just arrived approximately at 2:4 5 p.m. and the lid was not secured on the box and everything inside is thawed. We are hesitant to eat any of the products since we do not know how long it has been without proper cooling and has been in transit for 4 days. Not a good experience for our first purchase from Maine Lobster Now!
Half the time some of my lobsters arrive dead and you are only reimbursed for the lobster not the Ins or packaging so you end paying almost 40 dollars per lobster. Plus it really screws up your special occasion UPDATE--leaky freezer bags probably killed the lobster. Lobster Now and myself did reach a monetary agreement. I will give them another try.
