I bought a house and the power kept going off. I would call just energy and they told me it was on. I would check the breaker box and you could move the breakers and it would come back on. I decided to buy a new breaker box, I pulled the meter, I did not cut anything, it was loose and we put the new box in. I put the meter right back in. The following day, we had to take the meter back down for About 2 hours. About a week later I received a letter from oncor stating that I had tampered with the meter and stolen electricity. They sent me pictures along with an affidavit stating it was prims facie evidence of me stealing elecricty. They noted everything in the picture except the new breaker box that is plain as day. The letter stated they could charge me with 6 months electrical use. Now I only had power there for ,3 months. To my dismay I got s 922.00 bill with a shut off notice. I draw 771 a month. So I have gone Thanksgiving and Christmas without power. And get charged with a penalty of 30.00 and a 5.00 discnect notice fee and a 25 disconnect fee. Like this is really going to help by pushing me further in Dept. This is such s scam. I notice on my bill there is even an energy assist charge that they charged me for paying my bill. Do ever get enough blood to suck from one person? I will never use them again and still can't pay my bill

I've been a Just Energy customer for 7-8 years now under my wife's name. We're separating so I was going to continue service with them and just get an account under my name. Easy peasy lemon squeezy right? WRONG!!!!!! Right off the bat, they asked for a $275 deposit which really wasn't a big deal. I paid that no sweat and proceeded to get my account set up. I finished giving them all of the information they requested at the time and I hung up. Not even an hour later they called and left me a voicemail stating that they needed a photo copy of my ID and the first and last page of my rental agreement. I provided that info as well via email to their customer service department. Afterwards I called them to make sure they had everything they needed to cut my power on. She said they did so I hung up and went on my merry way. The next day I was notified again stating that they only had a partial picture of the first page of the rental agreement and they needed the entire page. Once again I complied and sent it to them. This was done way in advance to ensure my lights were going to be on when I moved in. Like a week and a half in advance. I arrived at the house I was moving into and lo and behold the electricity had not been turned on yet. Once again I'm on the phone calling their so called customer service trying to figure out what the problem is this time I was on hold for 2 hours (not joking!). The lady said that my lights weren't cut on yet because they were still waiting on a document to be sent to them still. I informed her that I sent it over a week ago!!!!! She did some investigating and sure enough, my email containing the necessary document was in the system. She apologized for the inconvenience and assured me that my power would be turned on today. I waited all day until 6:45 P.M. CST and called customer service once again (yes I'm a glutton for punishment) and she informed me that they still needed a document in order to turn my service on. I explained to her that I sent the necessary information over a week ago and verified that the information was received the day I sent it as well as today. At this point I totally lost my cool. I'm sitting in the dark because of stupid documents that shouldn't even be necessary to begin with! I then called Reliant Energy and they said they would have my power cut on first thing in the morning with (this is the best part) NO DEPOSIT!!!!!!! Why do I need to supply them with a hefty deposit and give them my first born son in order to receive electricity?!?! Screw them. Go somewhere else for your power needs. Worst customer service ever!!!!

I honestly wish I could give them no stars. I had them when I was at my apartment and then I bought a house and decided to just transfer services. When I moved into my house I had no light and couldn’t even stay in my new home! I called them & they said I had a $80 deposit which I was confused by because all I did was transfer services? & I was never late & was current on my payments. & no one ever told me I even had to pay a deposit in the first place. So I had to rent a room that day which costed me $70! and I came back the next day & I still didn’t have light! I called them & told them I needed the light to be on ASAP! The only reason I stayed at that point was because I needed to have light on in order to stay in my house. & if I would’ve went to a different provider I was worried it would’ve taken even longer. After that they finally turned it on about 2 hours later. Then I get a bill from my apartment which was normal for $136. Then I get another bill for $375 because they were charging me for my first house bill & also a $275 deposit! How does that make sense? So now they are saying I owe a little over $500. Needless to say I will never work with them again & I will tell everyone I know to stay far away from this company. I’m done with them & im glad I switched to txu.

Came home from work and power was shut off! Called multiple times with different answers and saying I was force out due to going to another provider and or someone using your identify when I never did and have to wait till Monday with no electricity

I had to give them a 1 rating but that was an overstatement! I have done business with Just Energy for over 9 years..I wrote a complaint a few months back because my bills were so high and they changed their policy about extensions on your bill. I was diagnosed with cancer and due to medical bills I run behind on my bill. They set it up where you couldn't get an extension but every so often. I got a message from Just Energy to contact them and they would see what they could do..I did they put me in another plan and told me they would work with me on my extensions. I was so happy I recanted my complaint publically to be fair..well here we go again..I called them they said they couldn't help me and then I found out they were charging me $20.00 when I did get an extension..I am sick of this company and as soon as I get out of my contract I am done!

I no longer have a account with them for about two years. And they keep calling me and leaving me voice mails to call concerning about my accounts. And I have no account with them. I remember a few years ago they came to my door and it sounds like a good deal at the time. But when I moved I had it all stopped but I guess whoever I talk to didn't not put it in their system. So, now they're bugging me!! I'm getting so sick of their calls!! I even put them on my block list but they call with different numbers.

Signed up with Just Energy here in California. They told me I would have a locked in rate, and that my gas bill would never be higher then through So Cal Gas. This is entirely untrue. My gas bill has now shot up to 150 a month. I live in a tiny 500 square ft mobile home. Yet my bill is higher then my parents whose home is 1200 sq ft.. long story short avoid this company at all costs. Their customer service is terrible as well!!

I still pay my bill through DTE. I had one larger bill and after that I have had months of credits and much lower bills for this time of the year (winter). I continually get Just Energy’s, competition trying to get or fool me to change to their service and I’m not changing. I hope the lower bills continue and is much appreciated.

I had received a notice that my electricity was shut off which I NEVER AUTHORIZED! now they are putting late fees because when I tried to pay my bill they said I had no acouunt ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS when I speak with them on the phone they can't explain my charges and when I requests a copy of my current bill it doesn't match what they telle I owe ! This is a disaster of a company

Went to sams they said just sign up and you’ll get the $70 gift card and you don’t even have to use us. Didn’t check bill until recently and PSEG quotes that I’ve over paid by $150+ over the last 3 months using them. I canceled through them then got a call today saying I would be charged $100 for cancellation. They’re complete liars and not trustworthy. Stay away.

This company is the wrost company i have ever dealt with i paid my bill on the 4th and they shut my gad off on the 9th i call them and they say my account is active and ask me am i sure my gas is off like Really i wouldnt be calling if it was on now i have to wait 3 days to have my sevice restored because somebody there didnt do their job the customer service reps are rude if you ask to speak to a supervisor they dont let you and the call mysteriously drops none of the reps speak English very well and they try to fault you for the mistakes they make once my contract is up with these people im done will never use them again or recommend anybody to them.and when i call customer service i want to speak with someone in the USA and not in india or whatever country they find these people because they dont have a clue of what they doing

Total RIP off keeps telling me I signed up from a door to door guy and I have gas thru them and that I have a balance with them how is that when I have so called gas since I've had gas service in the bs 🤬 city

I been dealing with them since August and they charged me every month 3 times more a month than PSEG would have..... I just called and cancelled and no refund even provide for the huge charges.... smfh

Very dissatisfied with this shady company. I've been dealing with them for the past 8-9 years and they "change" their policies every other month, worst of all they throw in non-existent charges and threaten they will disconnect their services if you don't pay their trumped charges. You can't dispute anything because calls are dropped or your number is "blacklisted" and no will take your call.

Was approached in ShopRite by a rep. Promised a $75 gift card and never received. Whenever I reached out to company, they could never find my account. Looked at my utility bill and they were charging 3x what my company charged for gas and electricity delivery. Sent an email asking why and requesting a call from a rep and received an email saying they would process a cancellation-how if you could never find my account??? SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!! Do not sign up with this company. The few times I called I was transferred to offices in 3 different states none of them being NJ. Was even told they don’t even service here?!? I better not receive a cancellation bill for this either. Highly unprofessional and misleading!

Worst company to do business with. They send letters stating you will be automatically renewed months ahead and when you call they don't notate your account and then turn around and charge you an exit fee of $150 for a month left after paying on time and even early for 3 years , the length of the contract btw. Was told to renew by 10/27 but then contract isn't up till December who does that.

I just spoke with Alex a customer service rep and Suzan, a supervisor. This is the 4th call to Just energy. I was told by another supervisor that I would not get my reimbursement for over charging me for electricity to my home. I've shown the back 'n forth email. Still, to no avail nothing gets resolved. Suzan told me my account sat in limbo without status. Meaning, even though another supervisor called and said he'd listen to my phone call on July 30, 2019 about my cancellation of your service, for which he did not listen to the phone call. Now, Suzan said to give them another 24-48 hours to get back with me. I asked Suzan for the complaint department of Just Energy. I told her I need to let the company know the incompetency in the company. She asked me to give them another chance, I mean, really?? What about me ??? This was my 4th call to you guys. Just Energy overcharged me since July 30,2019 through November 20, 2019. This company is a real scam. They charge more than the local electric company. Sad company with terrible customer service. All I asked was to do what's fair. You overcharged me so give me my refund.

When I was approached to sign up for Just Energy I was quoted a $.05 per kWh rate. I was currently with NRG at a $.06 kWh fixed rate. I live in a two bedroom apartment and I wanted to cut cost so I was optimistic to the lower rate so I agreed to the rate. I believe I signed up in August and received a bill for $135.00. However much to my surprise I received a $300 bill the following month. While looking over my bill, I noticed my rate changed so I called customer service. The first time I called the csr, she was sympathetic to the fact that I was misinformed and requested for a supervisor to contact me. I waited about a week and decided to call in again after no response. The second time I called in the csr was quite rude. She suggested that regardless to what the Just Energy representative quoted me I should have read the document instead of taking his word. She then went on to explain that it is an initial $.05 rate that will fluctuate every month. She then transferred me to a supervisor that explained the same. I was so frustrated at this point because I was completely misinformed and would have never signed up for Just Energy if I was aware of the correct terms. I explained to the supervisor that I wasn’t concerned about the amount of electricity I used however it was the rate at which I am being charged. To be honest this is a complete disappointment. My whole goal was to save money when now I’m spending twice as much. I think when your representatives approached people to sign up they should be honest and forthcoming with the correct details of the terms. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of and lied to.

Up until last night i would have given 4.5 stars, I used Just energy and had zero issues. BUT NOW, watch out is all i can say. I got a email from Collections @justenergy.com who say i am past due for the final payment. This is after i canceled in Dec of 2018, with a email from the saying sorry to see you go. All prior emails for billing i addressed and asked repeatedly when i canceled and paid final, if there was any balance and i was assured NO BALANCE was needed . Now they are threatening legal and credit reporting. As i type this i have been on the customer service phone number for 20 minutes (11am CT) and no one has picked up. how can they keep sending me survey and even birthday emails and not figure out how to send me a final bill until almost a year later? It is not like this is a large amount but i have zero accounting for this and no documentation from them on it. They just expect me to pay this no questions asked? Not a way to do business.
