Wow! I just signed up with Just Energy in January 2020 through Sam’s club in Dallas TX. I hope I don’t have any of the problems that everyone have had after reading these reviews. My 1st bill was $25 and they sent Me a weekly report of $19. They have great customer service and so far, so good. I have no complaints.
I signed up for this service at my local Sams Club during the summer for the free nights (9pm-7am) and weekends plan. I noticed that my bills almost doubled from my previous carrier and called to inquire. They advised me that they enrolled me in the wrong plan which was NOT free nights and weekends but a set rate that was significantly higher than what I was paying with my previous carrier. After arguing with them , they required proof of the plan I enrolled in. Fortunately, I save the information as well as the name of the rep who signed me up. They finally agreed to issue me a credit for the difference between what enrolled in and what I was charged but I have yet to see the credit. I have called every two weeks for the last three months and they tell me they are "working on it with the billing department" but unable to give me any information. When I call the billing department the line is busy . The biggest run around and absolutely zero customer service. I am not sure where they are located but the calls come from Canada.
READ THE REVIEWS!!!!!!! Just Energy did the Exact same thing to me in November 2019 to December 2019! I got a $25.10 disconnect notice first which was odd. In days it turned into$269!!!!! And I had to pay 50% that day to give me an extension of 10 days! 4 days later they cut it off! Without any disconnect notice!!!!!!!! They just generated a $418 bill in conjunction!!!!! After the payment was made of the 50%.I was side blinded picked up my thirteen year old ( with respitory issues since birth), I tried to open my garage . . . No power at 8 pm at night!!!!!!!! I had to drop my son back off to his grandma. Sit in the parking lot and think . . . My mother just passed and I had no refuge . . . So I had to take my grocery money and get a room at 10pm for $65 until 11am!!!!!!! I am calling Austin and my Attorney along with my$25.00 disconnect notice to a $269 . . . To $418 in less than 60 days!!!!! If anyone wants to set a claim against them. . . Do it! Don’t let them just give you reviews to write!!!! Centerpoint said they had the order to cut them off from just Energy! One of there reps hung up in my face last night!
TItle: Just Energy: Just Steer Clear! BEWARE: Just Energy is a complete rip-off in Westchester County, NY. I encountered them at Sam's Club, where they relentlessly prey upon shoppers. The guy who signed me up falsely (read: fraudulently) promised lower energy rates than ConEd's. As soon as I signed up, JustEnergy began overcharging me an average of $30/month more than ConEd would have. Just Energy provides no discernable value added to justify their higher rates. Moreover, ConEd advised me they have received numerous complains about Just Energy (and other third-party energy providers). ConEd referred me to their Complaint Line and advised I might also ask the ConEd complaint Line to facilitate getting a refund for the amounts Just Energy has overbilled me. Finally, forget about the pathetic "Perks Rewards" program. Participants earn 1 point per $1 spent with Just Energy, and 1 point =1 cent. The minimum redemption is a $50 merchant gift card, which one can choose to purchase with a combination of points and cash. Horrible return, in my opinion, for an overpriced service. I reiterate: Just Energy - Just Steer Clear!
I was talked into signing up for just energy when one of your reps came and knocked on my door 4 years ago. I continue to make my payments to my local gas company though. Just energy continously calls every day to get payment from me, saying they are calling on behalf of my gas company. It is harassing and I am sick and tired of it. I wish I had never let your rep talk me into signing up for the 3 year contract, because you guys continue to call and now you've sent a collections letter of which injustice told you guys I made a payment and yet I still received a call a few days later.
First I would like to clear some things up. I am not nor ever have been a customer with Just Energy or any other entity related to this company. So please stop calling me a customer of Just Energy because I am not. I was charged $10 then after that went through, a $163.17 was charged, then again for $163.17 and then again for $152.14. Never ever spoke to anyone with regard to Just energy and we’ve been with our energy provider for 3 years now and see no need to switch. I also paid my energy bill 3 days prior to this charge from Just Energy and to top it off I have a long time left on my contract. I have taken the liberty to report Just energy to the (BBB) Better Business Bureau (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO DO IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU) and I am looking for a LAW FIRM who will represent me and the many others that have been affected by this FRAUD of a company because obviously the owners and those that have been put in charge over its company’s and employees know they are scamming people with their hard worked/earned money. How do you manage to get my credit card information and attempt to charge the same card over 5 times and try and get away with it. So since you attempted to steal my money and since I have money to throw away, I will have a petition filed against you, your company and employees for FRAUD and Identity theft because you got information from me that was NOT at ANY TIME given to you or anyone who works for Just Energy. We as a consumer are protected by what is called the Deceptive Trade Practice Act and I think you need to read that act before the owners of Just Energy and it’s employees continue to commit this Fraud and scams. Just Energy, be prepared to spend money on some attorneys of your own because you opened a can of worms you didn’t want to open. You may have scammed some elderly people or families of those that are deceased but not me. To those who have been scammed by this company, I would look into hiring an attorney, report all fraudulent charges and keep all the proof of these frauds in your possession. It will make your case stronger and they will have to pay for everything. Just Energy, you will also reimburse me for the Petition and all court costs associated with this lawsuit. You want to steal peoples money, then pay for our court costs as well?!
Run from this company. Offering low rates they make up the difference in distribution fees for 1, if your willing to pay $70distribution fees on top of a $40 for the usage fees. The final straw was.... After 2 1/2 years of never missing a payment we were short we made a partial payment and another partial payment a week later. Talked with the collections department with just energy. Despite paying half the monthly balance they harassed us with calls averaging 3 a day mailed out a disconnection notice giving us 4 days and ultimately a negative mark on our credit rating. I borrowed money paid the $188.00 outstanding. Then I called them, after being hung up on 3 times I finally get an employee on the phone and give them the payment confirmation code. The very next day the collection calls continue and the account was paid up all within 4 weeks of receiving the original bill and less then 30 days past due.
I have called 4 times over a 10 day period and waited 20 to 30 minutes in que each time. My bill keeps going up even though my usage is down.
My bill is growing higher and higher, i checked, their price is much higher than another company. I want to cancel the contract, but the customer service never answered my call, never--- Do you think you can keep your customers in this way?!
On Jan 21st, I received a knock at the door about 8PM it two representatives from Just Energy. Margan Powe Energy Advisor JE5975677. Margan talked my boyfriend into getting a quote, she got our address and told him he would have to sign things to get the quote so she could sent to his phone. The day after that he received calls, texts, and emails about switching over to Just Energy he never replied. Jan 27, he received an email thanking him for his service with Just Energy. How is that possible he didn’t authorize anything! Our current energy provider is in my name. How was Margan able to change anything over without an account number. Now I have 300 early termination fee and and 101.25 energy charge from my company. My boyfriend called Just Energy to only be on hold and given the run around for an hour transferred here and there. He finally talked to a representative whom stated she didn’t see his authorization for the service. I hope Just Energy can rectify this situation!
I signed up for Just Energy in a Sam's Club. The representative assured me that the gas price WOULD REMAIN THE SAME and I was just switching suppliers through my local Consumers Energy. When I received my bill there was a memo from Consumers stating the JE price being charged was $5.07 per Mcf and the Consumer's price was $2.65. I called JE to question this and was never able to get thru after twice being on hold for 15+ mins. I did get a call back and was told the rep couldn't help me because she was in Texas. Bottom line, I had to drive to Sam's Club to cancel the service. THIS SERVICE IS NOT WORTHWHILE.
I have been on hold for over an hour to cancel my service with them and have been hung up on twice my bill is 100-150 more on average with them... I ended up cancelling my service through my electric company because when I did get a hold of someone she would not provide me with any assistance. I did respond to the private message they sent me that i cancelled. This company has good people working for them but as a whole the business practices are very poor.
Can't get a hold of them, and put you hold for a long time! My bills is way to high for less than 500square foot house witch I paid half the price when I was living in 1200 square footage house I don't understand why my bills is way to high this month,when I don't use any different from last month
#JustEnergy = Fraud. Not only did my spouse cancel services within 2 hours but it has taken over 10 phone calls and 4 months later to finally get a check from your company which. Once he received the check i advised him to cash it rather than deposit because i didn't trust the process and i work for a bank. Within this not only has he been told he needs to deposit not cash the check he has been told by 2 check cashing companies that the check is invalid. Your company refuses to fix this issue in a timely manner. Due to the $343 your company has tact on to a bill that should not have been received we have to pay that out of pocket for costs that we did not accrue due to cancelling within 2 hours! He has been told on a number of calls to just open an account and deposit this same invalid check. (Which is written on #chasebank) No one can explain why the check would not be valid for check cashing but only deposit especially when no where on the check invoice does it indicate such information. In closing this issue ongoing since oct 31. 2019 is still not resolved. When speaking with the agents they seemed to not have understood they are violating safe banking process by not allowing an individual to cash a check by depositing said item if in fact it does return from not being valid not only will this cost more money but again none of this should happen if services were cancelled properly on both accounts that was verified on the 1st call back in September which was again only 2 hours after signing up.
Signed up at Sam’s club and I was a little bit hesitant at first but I got the free nights program and my kilowatts charge varies between.07-.08 cent in total
Well first off normally I can make my bill payments on time. I did fall behind by 116.33 and the just energy collections department has been borderline harassing me. Even after making payment arrangements there were still calling and bullying me for 116.33. I asked to talk to floor manager and was hung up on and or ignored or placed on hold for long periods, so I would call back and of course it happened every time. I have blocked the numerous numbers they call from. I called the loyalty department as I’ve been with Just energy for (5 years) And still I’m waiting for some form of action about the less the professional treatment I’ve received. As of April 19 this year my service contract will end and will be removing my service from them.......
Stay away from this service. They are a nightmare. I cancelled their services due to being so expensive, they then sent a collection agency after me, which I fought against and won. Once that collection agency retracted its claim, they filed with another collection agency, and I wasn't even informed. I found out by checking my credit. They are scam artists. STAY AWAY.
One of the worst service ever. Previously I use to get 100-120$, after moving to just energy my current bill bumped upto 200$. Ridiculous and worst service. It's a scam of free Sam's club of 45$ but actually they are charging triple that. Be aware of this scam.
Scam Scam Scam!!! They say they use the same kw as Comed but it's all part of their BS to draw you in! When you hear the name 'Just Energy', run as fast as you possibly can. My bill for 3 years was never ever more than $100 and I switched to just energy and all of a sudden it was $163??? Yeahhh okkk............
Absolutely baffled with this company. Been with them for 8 months now and up until Dec our bill was on average 30ish bucks. Then December tripled. No idea why, cannot get anyone to talk to us. We got called just after bill due date by someone who could not help us and said we need to contact someone else. This person stated we have until 3pm the next day to pay up. Now the next day and power was cut out at 12.30-12.45! Multiple calls have been placed this morning with no answer. Just the same message as ALWAYS that they have an over abundance of calls. Always is not an overstatement. Currently holding yet again...30 and counting. Note: balance was paid at about 1pm, well before agreed timeline. I am at my wits end with this company.
