Awful, expensive, poor minimal work and they seem to just be after the late payment fee

I have updated and amended my review as its now almost 6 months on since I reported what I had observed (not sure why I have been asked to update the review as very little has changed), however, I now have a much better overview. Unfortunately since my last update the play area has deteriorated, with floor marking completely worn out and grass grown through the rubber safety matting. The bank which was put in by the developer and landscaped was cut a few times earlier in the year and looked very tidy. I thought it was the start of a better service, unfortunately this hasn't been touched since and now has weeds standing almost as tall as myself (I'm 6' in height). I believe I am billed for monthly site inspections, but as I'm around every day I have never seen one site inspection - but if they have happened and I've missed the person I apologise, but if they have visited how have they missed such glaring poorly maintained areas. Sorry but this company have a long way to go to win back my support, given what we are forced to pay for such poor service.

I pay around £160 a year to have mutual ground maintained by this factor. The costs go up year on year used to be £132 4 years ago. This charge mainly comes from expensive supervisor visits that add no value other than force the costs up. As greenbelt is the named factor in my deeds I have no way of getting rid of them although we are in communication with our local MP. If you are ever offered the chance for them to be your factor please avoid at all costs

Factoring company responsible for the maintenance of our estates communal areas. Never resolve any concerns you have and constantly tell you that you misinterpreting the deeds when you quote them verbatim. All they do is cut grass in easily accessible areas and charge large admin fees to every one who has them as a burden in their title deeds. Constantly Bombarding residents with court action and bailiff letters for non payment even though they do not fulfill the commitments of their own contract. THINK TWICE BEFORE BUYING A PROPERTY THAT THEY HAVE THE MAINTENANCE CONTRACT FOR!

I've been a Greenbelt Group customer for about 12 years. What do they do apart from cut the grass and replace dead trees and plant. Why are these even dying? Try planting them properly in the first place! Some of the replacement work is awful. Each month as part of the bill is a site inspection. I would expect a site inspection to identify issues and resolved them. About 3 months ago a wooden pallet was left on the grass near my property by some kids. I've not removed it because I wanted to see how long Greenbelt took to notice is at one of their inspections. As far as I am concerned if something as big as a wooden pallet isn't moved from an area of grass then Greenbelt aren't inspecting. This is not a one off. There have been other issues in the past with dead plants not being removed for over a year. I've had to contact Greenbelt to get this rectified. Greenbelt, you seem to be reading and responding to these reviews. I'm not going to mention the name of the development this has occurred at simply because if you bother to do exactly what your 'customers' pay you for across all your developments then you'll pick up this at the next inspection. Won't you?!

Been living on a "new development" now for going on three years, three years of "Greenbelt" being the maintenance company for the surrounding area - three years of nothing. Annual bills that they want paid up front before the work is completed (who would do this?) VOLUNTEER GROUPS doing work on the land Greenbelt supposedly own!? Why does the company think they can jack up prices each year - do little to no work (send a suit every 4ish months who sits in his car drinking coffee but not actually getting any work done on our site!?) In the three years I've been here I've not personally seen any work completed, the plans show green areas which have now turned to basically mini weed cities without any proper maintenance I've raised this with them on numerous occasions (taken photos regularly), I've been basically fobbed off from what I feel like anyhow - no apologies and just been told I can seek further assistance via Housing and Property Chamber? on their website- I have stopped paying as of this year and I will continue to with-hold any further payment until I actually witness any work being done - and then I want to be billed correctly - not just a random charge, I want to see the breakdown that Greenbelt should have surely the labour and costs to them - that they then can pass onto us - for me the last three years should have been free since they've not done anything? I can understand if they maintained it even a little I might have not written this review but I'm so tired and so are my neighbours of having to wait until the green areas outside our properties are so overgrown we cut them ourselves - and the major green areas that surround the "park" are ruined and not worth even saving. Thanks for nothing Greenbelt.

Greenbelt services took over the maintenance on a flood alleviation scheme in Long Ashton with a large sum of money from the developer of the building site,we now watch as the system silts up and the outflow blocks with flotsam until it cause a dam and backs up the stream until it slows and that increases the sedimentation ,simple really ! Greenbelt have done virtually nothing and the effectiveness of this flood prevention scheme is now being seriously 😒 degraded ,A School is in a direct line if this system falls over When this system fails there will be loads of hand wringing and no one will get prosecuted,This company is seriously derelict in its responsibility SO GREENBELT GET IT SORTED BEFORE IT FAILS In regards to your reply perhaps you could post the Company that is responsible as I was told that ms McQuillan was the person responsible in 2010 and I believe she is still on Greenbelt board

payment issue called them on 2 occasions and was unable to get in touch to make payment , when i eventually did get in touch was fined £43 for late payment and also told it was not possible that i had not been able to get through. Amazed at the response i received and disappointed. Just wondering to whom are greenbelt accountable and were does the money go, made to sound as if there environmentally friendly but not sure they are

93% disapproval rating can’t be defended, one person having a moan, fair play... a statistical anomaly. I have had quite a few dealings with green belt over the eleven years I have lived on the oaks. I might as well have written to Boris or David as they may have replied with far less political speak and waffle. In fact, I’m not even sure why I’m bothering to write this here.... “Dear sir, please contact our customer service department who will discuss this with you”. No thanks, just get your act together please!! The Oaks in leyland, lancashire.

Before anyone from greenbelt comments about welcoming feedback from you I'd like to point out I've tried that. Simply horrible company to deal with , shocking fees for little work. Jobs for the boys here, paying a 'surveyor' silly money to sit in his audi drinking coffee checking his Facebook then staring at a couple of bushes for a few minutes before Chucking his hard hat back in the boot and going home doesn't quite cut it. Query it and you get a snotty email quoting covenants and a copy of a map which looks like it's been coloured in by a 4 year old. Only awarded one star as there's no way to award a zero.... Google these guys, doesn't make good reading.... the day is coming greenbelt, we're just biding our time....

Poor service from start to finish. Years of lack of communication, now showing 20 working days to reply to email correspondence, which would take months to resolve issues. 3 differing plans for the same site and charges for poor work and site inspections! Wouldn’t recommend any builder to use green belt for site services.

I wish there was a rating of less than 1 star!! This is the worst company I have come across. They come whenever they please, do whatever they want and charge whatever they can. No transparency, no receipts, no accounts breakdown and no accountability. They trim the hedges and throw the cuttings into the adjacent Woodland Trust property. Stay clear of these cowboys and get them removed from your deeds (google the case of Mr Marriott v’s Greenbelt for the details of how). Their poor business service currently thrives due to a lack of regulation and no independent complaints procedure, but this is now being debated in parliament, so hopefully they’ll be forced to provide a quality service soon.

I'm astonished at greenbelts blanket response to all these posts of... Tell us the name of your development and we will rectify the situation? I contacted greenbelt in January 2016 to express my concerns with the disgusting conditions of the children play park areas in my development and you took me to court without trying to help. I have later found out the unfit for use conditions of the play parks are due to persimmon and greenbelt failing to take accountability for the play matting being installed in accordance with the planning permission consent drawings. Thus they have not been built as they should have. The judge in my 7th and last appearance in court said I didn't have to pay greenbelt due to my title deeds being updated and there was nothing I could do to fix the play parks, therefore the social development of my young kids would be affected. I would appreciate if greenbelt could point me in the direction of their 52,000 happy 'customers' as their are certainly no genuine ones on this review page.

In my opinion. Very poor service. Many on our estate in dispute, those paying the bills seem to be landlords rather than the homeowners. I believe unfair charges have been added and billed for

Nothing to be positive about - Oversold, under delivered. We purchased a new home from Redrow Homes between York and Leeds and were emphatically told "The development would look Lovely" and "Be Well Maintained and Landscaped by Professionals". Seven years on i haven't seen any professional landscaper turn up, and the estate looks far from "Lovely". Based on what i have seen, the Performance of the Greenbelt contractors is poor (Faulty Equipment, refuse to clear waterways, dump cuttings on footpath) and dealings with Greenbelt themselves are something else. I hoped for a development to live on where i would be proud to call home, seven years on, i'm still looking. If you are looking to purchase a house with any landscaping company, please read your deeds very carefully and expect no service in return for your money. Yes, it may start at £100 per year, but it soon rises. For me its the principle of paying for a service, not the cost, and that i am disgusted with. Be cautious.

the greenbelt experience is similar to having a gardener that: comes when he wants does whatever work he wants charges you what he wants you can't sack has a charge on your freehold, which allows them to block your house sale or remortgage

image
Kathleen Alexander 17 December 2017, 22:02

Very poor service and their charge is excessive for the little amount of work they do.
