FAQs
Greenbelt 'manage' the coppice behind our house. Their trees have broken our fence, damaged our AstroTurf (via the root systems,) fallen into our garden where a light wind has snapped one of them and over hang the garden now to such an extent that any winds has them bending dangerously close to the garden itself. Lots of emails to Greenbelt which have been met with silence apart from a generic answer quoting the law of tort and the need to cut overhanging branches ourselves - the whole tree overhangs but they will not even acknowledge this, even though photos have been sent to them. I even offered to pay to have the trees cut down - again radio silence. I really do not see how they can be complying with any SLA have they have in place to manage the area - shocking communication! I suspect we will have to wait until the inevitable happens and someone eventually gets hurt... ***UPDATE*** Thank you for the reply Marc. GEL are part of Greenbelt Holdings Ltd which I believe Greenbelt Group is as well? I appreciate it may be a differing part of the Group but as we have been by a wall of silence, this seemed to be our only course of action. Interestingly our neighbour suggested we write a review. They had exactly the same issue with a tree within the coppice. It was only when a review of their experiences was posted online, that any action was taken. I believe this was after circa 18 months of efforts in trying to get the situation resolved. I have sent you our contact details as requested. Regards, Mark. **** Further Update **** Well I say update... still nothing from GEL or Greenbelt Group. Fence now damaged beyond repair, Astroturf ruined and a question which now has to be answered. If GEL are nothing to do with Greenbelt Group, then how does Greenbelt Group know where my house and the offending coppice is? I have not put those details on here and their post predates their request for further information??? If they are unrelated companies, how can Greenbelt Group gain access to my emails (including personal data) sent to GEL. I have not given GEL any permission to share such data. One for the ICO to look at. Between that and the damage being caused by their trees, this really is an appalling organisation in my opinion. *** Further Update - Part 2*** The Greenbelt Holdings Community Liaison Officer came to look at the trees over two weeks. Seemed a decent chap (Nick Upton) and stated that he could not believe that they planted the trees so close to our house. He was going back to GEL to hopefully resolve the situation. Two weeks later and... nothing. One of the trees is now pushing the fence and we can no longer allow our children to play in the back garden at the slightest gust of wind, or we fear one of the trees will hit them as it moves in the slight breeze. Local Authority have now been informed - something we really did not want to do. What a fab company eh?
Not sure what you have done for the money!! Absolutely nothing from what everyone on the street can see!! Disgusting!! Won’t be paying next year!!
Charging us 201£ / year I’ve made a research and I could not find any other company charging this price to maintain a green space on a estate. Knowing that they are on the title deeds and you can’t do anything they can change you … We are around 350 houses on the estate. That means we pay 70000£ / year to maintenance for a park….. When you buy a house on a new estate and you find out that Greenbelt Group will do the maintenance on the green area just be careful….. THEFT…..
I was trying to register for paperless accounts for 2 houses and couldn't do it. I emailed Greenbelt and immediately got a reply on how to do it and that was it sorted.
Excellent customer service today. Effective and efficient response to my query with a friendly and understanding manner. Very grateful for the help recieved.
During storm Dudley our fence was destroyed. Greenbelt contacted by my husband first thing this morning. Prompt reply this afternoon and favourable outcome. Thank you for your assistance Moira Young
I called Green belt to open a direct debit for a Factors fee. Jeanette was so friendly I felt as if I was talking to a friend. She gave me all the information I needed and set up the direct debit quickly and efficiently. It was a pleasure to hear someone so friendly and enthusiastic about helping me. Thanks Jeanette you're a star⭐
So yet again I am here writing a review as this is the only place that you actually get a response from Greenbelt obviously for show purposes only blabbing on our fantastic they are and caring for the environment Save it we are past caring. Utter rubbish what a bunch of cowboys. Forget the emergency line to ring or any contact with them you get nothing back at all and I mean NOTHING. You could be lying dead under one of their badly maintained fences or trees in recent storms and they could not give a monkeys. Two years we have waited for them to maintain their fence after one of their trees nearly took us and our home out and still waiting today. Repaired the fence and property ourselves at the time and now more recently storms took the fence out at a cost of £400 to ourselves to replace it. Yet residents are now wondering why the old fence is now on their communal area and think we have a abandoned it. Not the case Greenbelt are fully aware of this but choose to ignore their responsibilities to remove it when instructed. The address we live at is 1Manor House Caravan Park Flockton WF4 4AW Since my complaint in Winter 2020 we have heard nothing back and still waiting for their Emergency response to more recent incidents in high winds taking the fence out if we hadn’t dismantled this fence it would have come through our living room window destroying our home. The day in question was terrifying for me and my husband frantically trying to make the already frail fence safe in the high winds. Where do you go next when you can’t reach anyone. Went to Trustpilot in the end it looks like they respond to this. Must be a full time job for Marc responding to all these disgruntled customers. Marc who responded only on Trustpilot by the way. made out it was the first he had heard of our complaints Really what a joke and cover up. Sent everything again along with photos to customer care email and still no response but got three automatic responses so they have the emails somewhere or have they gone straight to junk. Just getting fobbed off. Anyway forget Greenbelt we want to apologise to the residents at Manor House Flockton for Greenbelts old fence being on their communal area for removal, if we were to incur removal charges then Greenbelt will say we have removed their property without their consent so I am afraid it will remain there until they remove it. Also they seem to have collected lots of branches and left them too. Sorry that residents have to pay these exuberant fees for upkeep of the area as they are clearly not getting this service. Annoying to everyone though that the houses were built after the caravan park yet we are all suffering for Greenbelts neglect. At the end of the day wherever you live it’s your home and should be protected and respected. Shame on you Greenbelt you are making money out of innocent hard working people. Oh and don’t bother replying Marc it’s abosolute rubbish that you respond with. As a previous person put recently Lies Lies Lies.
Spoke to Julie (emergency service Glasgow) She could not have been any more helpful understanding and patient While the issue was not a direct emergency she did give me time to inform her and went above and beyond Great
Another way this company makes extra money from people. I've had so much going on for the first and only time I forgot to make payment in time, No contact to remind me of this just got hit with a 21.00 late payment fee on top of monthly payment so I had to make minimum payment of 40.18 as I've said in previous review quick enough to take money but no offer of discount during COVID and not an ounce of understanding if you wanted to pay less. I would set up for direct debit but the payment date they dictate to customers doesn't fall in line with my pay day and I don't have time to go to bank wait in queue and set up standing order as I work from home because I'm classed as at risk. Despicable how the company works no consideration for people, made to feel like a criminal.
Tried to join up to go paperless but still haven’t succeeded went into my account but couldn’t find the link.
The Greenbelt website is not the most intuitive. When I phoned customer service for help my call was answered within a reasonable amount of time. The advisor knew what my issue was and helped me solve it quickly and without fuss.
Online account didn’t work had to email to get an account created very annoying unable to set up a monthly direct debit online to spread costs
Unable to complete the process without contacting Greenbelt as the pin code I had been given to register would not work. On contacting Greenbelt by phone the problem was very quickly resolved in a pleasant and efficient manner. Thank you.
Greenbelt Group Limited describe themselves as reliable and trusted. Statistically, the overwhelming majority of contributors who have first hand knowledge of them and their methods, appear to know otherwise. Update following Greenbelt's response. You will notice that I said the "overwhelming majority of contributors" as usual Greenbelt argue with those obvious facts. In my title I added "deluded". Their response removed any doubt, that may have existed, on that matter !!
Very impressed with this company. They take action and address issues quickly and responsibly. Well done!
Further to my phone call i received a speedy e mail pointing me in the right direction very quick and courteous i was very pleased.
We are not a customer of Greenbelt thank goodness but we are neighbours to one of their developments they manage. 2 years ago one of their mature trees came down in high winds a landed on the side of our property causing damage and demolished the perimeter fence to our property along with the neighbours and two cars. After ringing the emergency line twice the tree was removed the following day as it was precariously balancing on the fence & our property so was very dangerous and could have fallen further any minute. We were told that the fence was our fence so we needed to contact our insurance company and make a claim, we were left with a lot of mess to clear up ourselves. After many emails it was then admitted by Greenbelt that the fence was actually theirs after all & they would arrange a contractor to come round and fix it. Guess what they they didn't bother. So we paid for the repair to their fence ourselves as it was an eyesore and just to leave it in that condition was not an option for us, however our elderly neighbour is still waiting. On Saturday 29th Jan 22 the fence then blew down in the recent high winds, its was terrifying trying to dismantle it for safety in such conditions. I rang the emergency line and left a message I also emailed them but its now 4 days on and had no response whatsoever. The company is a complete shambles and I feel sorry for residents that pay money to them. We will be having a new fence erected at a cost to us but feel like giving them the bill but it will be the poor residents that would have to pay for it. How can you leave something for two years. Luckily I have kept all correspondence on file before they say they have no record to if so off to the Solicitor next.
I wrote to ask for help and advise regarding woodland on our site, which had been neglected for almost two years .The state of which had become very poor due primarily due to more people walking and using this area in the last two years.( .during Covid?) I wrote around Christmas period but had a reply in January followed almost immediately by a visit and asssessment ,details of which were then sent to me . Work has been started and already provisional temporary work on the footpath has been started and has been continued further until now. I look forward to seeing further progress. But obviously realise that more work and specifically forrestry has yet to be done. Joy Williams
Greenbelt contributed to a delay in the sale of my property and did not respond timely to my solicitor. I informed them four weeks prior to the date of completion & was advised to inform my solicitor which I did, on the day we were moving home they demanded a years payment in advance even though I paid monthly & was up to date & £193 charges to the buyer of my property for a name change. This is a gardening service on a private estate not a management company they are a complete rip off please be aware of the hidden charges.
