Brought a laptop from them on the basis of the reviews on here. Built it to the high spec I wanted online and ended up with an really old Toshiba casing that wouldn't hold its charge for more than an hour. Worked fine otherwise. New battery didn't help. Contacted them and explained that I wanted something that could at least hold its charge even if it was housed in an old laptop base. They said they would look into into and get back to me but never did and when I chased they decided to ignore me. So I now have paid nearly £400 for what is effectively a desktop which has to plugged into the mains all the time if I want it to work. Be wary of these and look elsewhere is the advice from my experience. #Edited following the reply from Gadget Centre. - i beleive this is a little disingenuous. I still have the emails where I explained the first battery only lasted 20 minutes. so a three fold increase is still only an hour which as I explained is still insufficient. I also note that you did not address my point that you promised to come back to me after you had carried out tests on other laptops and you did not. I did refer this to immediately following the purchase so i am not sure what relevance the date of purchase has other than to create the false impression that i had delayed matters which is simply not true.

It is not my habit to respond to adverts on Facebook, but I have had a stellar experience! The 15.6" laptop came in a permanent bubble-wrap, that I shall use for travel, and revealed an immaculate chassis, fitted with a high-spec of 'goodies'. It flies .. and with a 3-year warranty I am reassured as well as impressed! I cannot recommend the firm more highly and, if I outlast it, will surely order from them again!

I needed a basic workhorse laptop to take to meetings and for general work when away from my desk. I therefore went for a fairly low spec, my only wish was to have a number pad as I save everything on the cloud so don't need a lot of memory. I'm very happy with the laptop. It has an enormous screen (bonus!), it's quick at startup and has so far been amazing. I can't recommend these guys enough, the parcel arrived quickly, it was superbly packaged and the laptop has totally fulfilled my needs. I could have spent 100% more for a thinner, lighter laptop with the same spec, but why would I do that!?

This is my second laptop from gadget centre. Both excellent machines, run well and the years guarantee gives an excellent piece of mind (not that I've ever needed it). Can't think why anyone would buy new now. GC just make everything so easy.

So easy to use the site and build the laptop you want. with lots of choices when sorting preferences. Safe and quick delivery and easy to use ready to go when turned on.

Saw the ad on TikTok and gave it a try. A little nervous but what a great service. Laptop arrived as described and I’m thrilled with it. So quick and has all the features I requested. A+. Highly recommended

Ordered on Saturday and received the laptop Wednesday. Used for about a week now and is very fast and more than I expected for the price, runs latest serato dj software with ease, great company can highly recommend

... there are no buts!! Saw the advert for Gadget Centre on Facebook. Been stung before by companies selling on FB so was a little dubious. Read the Trustpilot reviews and thought I'd risk it especially as payment through Paypal was an option. Building the laptop was easy. Price updated as you change options and voila - laptop built. Don't expect the latest laptop tat is thinner than something really thin. Remember these guys are reviving older machines. Mine came with a skin over the outer case to make it look good and cover and possible blemishes. Starts up in seconds rather than minutes like my old one. Slight gripe is that letters occasionally type twice. But this is something that can easily be corrected when reading back through. Will definitely visit Gadget Centre again as or when a new gadget is required. Thanks guys. Great job.

Simply brilliant, easy to use and very quick service

A very straightforward process to configure the laptop to the spec I wanted and to place the order. Everything went smoothly and the laptop arrived quickly. Well packaged and within minutes it was booted and running smoothly. I still have not completed setting up to my requirements but all has gone smoothly so far. I would strongly recommend Gadget Centre for a budget computer with a lot of oomph. I already have one of theirs that I use daily; this one is fir my wife as hers is slowly dying.

Bought my laptop 3 months ago. Ordering, delivery and packaging all first class. My initial impression was that I had got a great machine but my experience with computers told me to use it for a while before passing comment. And, what a cracker. A refurbished ACER. It’s fast, it’s quiet, it connects to all my other things. Assessment after months of trial: exactly what I wanted at a very good price.

Laptop was received within a week - At first glance, it looked good (although only a 14 Inch screen despite their website saying "You can expect a full sized (15.6″ +) laptop") - Apart from that though, it very well packaged and clean and booted quickly as promised - that's where the positive experience ended unfortunately. The laptop was missing drivers needed to run graphic design software satisfactorily and the keyboard was faulty and unuseable. After contacting Gadget Centre to arrange a return/repair, I waited a week for a reply to my email and they are not available over the phone. Eventually received a really apologetic reply about the wait and faulty keyboard so replied asking for details on how to return the laptop for repair. I'm now back to awaiting their reply - it's now 12 days since I first received the faulty laptop and I'm unsure how much longer it will be before they reply, arrange collection, repair and return (it's safe to say the 48 hour repair turnaround is completely false) Hoping they can redeem themselves because currently I can not recommend them - atrocious customer service. UPDATE as of 23/05/2023 - Despite the poor customer service and delays I'm very happy with the laptop now it's been returned in full working order. It loads quickly and handles resource heavy software like Illustrator and Photoshop really well. I've received further apologies for the delays/hassles and assurances that Gadget Centre are working hard to restore operations back to normal so hopefully new customers don't have the same issues I had.

Got what I ordered in one week so all good. All looks in good working order. Only criticism would be battery which doesn't last too long before it needs recharging. 4 hours maybe. That said, for the money paid out and the spec I've got, seems like a real bargain!

I had specific requirements for my laptop. The support team answered my query before purchase and the laptop arrived quicker than expected. To say I am pleased is an understatement. The machine is like lightening booting up and easily handles anything I can throw at it. And it looks fabulous too. I’ll definitely be back whenever I need a replacement. For the price I may even be back sooner!

Excellent laptop, super fast and perfect for me. The cost of this was a fraction of what I was going to spend on a brand new one from AO.com but I'm glad that I went to Gadget Centre.The machine arrived within 7 days and was in the most secure packaging I've ever seen. This is the first computer I've had with SSD memory and wow - what a difference it makes ! You won't regret doing the same as me and going to GC !!

Honest guys. Super fast laptop for a fraction of a new one. Case is a little old, but who cares. It works well, fast to start up. Just what I wanted. If you want to save a big chunk of money, give them a try.
