I am very grateful to Gadget Centre for their service as for me, it was the only affordable option I had and so far has been running beautifully with a lovely elegant design. It's simple and is exactly what I needed. Thank you very much!
I took a chance with GC since I have personally dealt with refurbished tech in a previous job and never had any problems or unsatisfied customers. At first I was pleased with my laptop but I quickly noticed that the battery was only lasting about 4 hours at most. I contacted GC about it and they told me that it was acceptable given the laptop is refurbished....except that's not true. 1) Any refurbished item from any company is supposed to be checked and repaired to "like new" standards before it can be sold. 2) According to GC themsleves they supposedly "go over and beyond" in their remanufacturing process. GC claims that their laptops will perform better than new in "peak condition with maximum performance guaranteed"...that's a direct quote from the website. A 4 hour battery life is NOT maximum performance, and not helpful when the item needs to be charged several times a day since I work from home. Do not waste your money! GC have not lived up to their alleged standards. EDIT: So GC contacted me after seeing my review on here and offered to help with the situation. They offered to either exchange the laptop or give me an external battery free of charge. It took a week for them to email back and forth, and when I agreed to the external battery (I couldn't be without a laptop when I work from home and there's no guarantees about another laptops battery life) they then didn't email me back for over a week to let me know if that was ok to go ahead with. When I had to get in touch with them again they told me that the external battery was already ordered and they were waiting on it being delivered to them. OK, cool. When it was delivered to me I emailed GC to let them know I received it. Again, cool. I was gonna update this review when I had time to. Now it's only been 3 days since I contacted them to say I received the external battery and they have already started emailing me about changing this review, and they contacted Trustpilot to get more of my info, which if I don't give that info my review can be taken down.... I was gonna upgrade this review somewhat since they did handle the situation even though it took a while, but now they've shot themselves in the foot. Pestering customers for better reviews when they are being honest about their experience is not ok. Care more about your product quality and customer service, then your image (including reviews) will take care of itself. Definitely NOT recommending Gadget Centre!
Laptop arrived in a safe, well and robust packaging. The laptop is in great condition and hardly a mark on it. Opened it up and switched it on, which came up super fast, and the clarity of the screen is really clear. Had it for nearly two weeks now and everything is just what I wanted. Thank you Gadget Centre. I can now get on with my work without any interuptions.
I bought a reconditioned laptop from Gadget Centre. I have now got a high spec device with some extras that I asked for and a 3 year warranty. All this cost less that £500. I believe I have a real bargain. I expected to have to wait for it to be delivered but form ordering to delivery was only about 10 days. Excellent service. I recommend Gadget Centre. (It plays "Rolling in the Deep" whenever I open it. Because it's a Dell.)
A little bit slower to arrive than expected but worth the wait. Everything exactly as I wanted
Great service good value and a great laptop far faster than my old laptop bought from a mainstream high street store and it’s cost less also. Well packaged quick delivery time and all present and correct. Certainly be looking to use them again in the future and will be telling family and friends to use them also. Thank you very much.
Having seen the adverts in social media, I was at first a little concerned this might be a spurious offer. However when my old notebook became unserviceable this seemed a finacially viable option. Don't doubt, have no reluctance, this IS a great deal! My laptop arrived securely, quickly and without problems. Perfect for my needs. I am even inclined to think better than my original purchase at nearly half the cost. I cannot fault Gadget Centre for all that they have done! One word sums up my whole experience. OUTSTANDING! Very pleased with my purchase
It was delivered in good time. Its fast, very fast ((went with the i7). It is for my son who is at uni. I was pretty sceptical, which is why I bought it on my credit card for extra safety. But the company has done exactly what it promises on their marketing. I would definitely recommend. I do understand though that it's early days. I did go for the 2yr warranty to be on the safe side. Happy with my purchase.
Rarely am I astonished by a service these days but Gadget Centre have blown me away! We have an equivalent £1000? Laptop for £300! It’s amazing! And what great friendly human service, I will be back for more and have spread the word!
*** updated to reflect the solution, but left here as a reminder*** The owner of the company did contact me after a couple of weeks since I retrieved my missing laptop. I am satisfied that he had made every effort to allow me to voice my feelings and dissatisfaction with the situation. He has worked to offer me assurance that should I need repair assistance in the future that this will be done FOC and also compensated me for the cost of the three year warranty . I am now over the stress caused by this interaction but will leave my 1 star review below for an insight while changing my rating above to 3 stars to reflect how it was eventually handled. I believe the company has learned some important lessons. Edited by myself Wednesday 15th November 2023. Worst customer service experience ever. This company took back my laptop at the beginning of October for a simple repair under warranty. I've emailed them endless times to ask for an update, if they'd even received it, if it's been repaired/replaced, if they were able to give me any indication when I am likely to receive it as my income is online and having to share a laptop with my husband who also works solely online and my two children.. I then get an email on Friday night explaining that they are are short staffed so didn't reply etc.. then telling me that my laptop is scheduled to be delivered today.. when I emailed back to ask for tracking as nothing was delivered I found out it was delivered to the wrong address despite me emailing twice (which was actually acknowledged) and also leaving a note with my laptop to ensure that the address is correct. I've not heard anything from the company since, after almost five days since they admitted that they posted it to the wrong place then ...so have managed to track down my laptop in a holiday house in Devon (a holiday property which I originally had the laptop sent to & explained it was a delivery address, NOT my home etc) I've arranged my own courier at my own expense to collect it tomorrow as I can't afford to be without it for any more time, something they should be fixing...not me!!!... I'm out of pocket, have lost around 50% of my income this month and absolutely appalled and disgusted by the sheer lack of communication and professionalism! I paid £40 for a 3 year warranty and will be asking for that to be refunded. I'd rather pay someone reputable to fix it if anything else happens.... My advice to anyone considering purchasing from this company is think again. They should not be advertising their "amazing"offers on social media if they can't backup simple customer service... Most disappointing indeed
The quality of the Laptop I received, the service, and the ongoing care they provide I would highly recommend the "Gadget Centre".
Excellent service and cheap prices too. Fast delivery also. Would reccomend
I can understand why there are some low reviews here. They are not fast in preparing the laptop and shipping it - this I had set expectations for from reading reviews so it wasn't a problem (for me it was 2 weeks from order to despatch). So don't order from here if you need a laptop quickly. The laptop itself looks so-so but I realize its just a shell and the specs on the internal components are as requested and I have a fast laptop. Their communication is where the issues start as no-one answers the phone and whilst the response time for emails is stated at 2-3 days it was 2 weeks (!!!) for me and I had to threaten to execute a chargeback through my card provider as I was not getting any response! The fault I had was not contested and they did fix it and send it back. When it was sent back I had no notification and the box was left in a corner by the front door. Fortunately we weren't away and found it that evening. It was a week later that I received an email with the subject "Your Gadget Centre order has been shipped!", so something's gone wrong there. When things go right and you get your working laptop they have a streamlined and efficient process for this but when things don't go quite right it appears they aren't competent at handling this. Some free advice to GC: If they worked on their communication it would help to re-assure a lot of customers and they wouldn't leave bad reviews. I'm happily using my laptop these days but I don't think I would get another one from Gadget Centre in the future. Edit 18/03/24 after gcentre.co.uk response: It's easy to declare transformation, but far more challenging to enact meaningful, lasting change. Frankly, your words ring hollow without tangible evidence to support them and the fact you try to suppress negative reviews.
During a trip to Plymouth I visited the Gadget Centre to get the low down on just what to expect for my money. What I got was a potted history from the owner on how the business came about and a tour of his facility to see the operation in action. Suitably assured I duly placed my order for a top spec machine and just over a week later I took possession of a refurbished Dell Precision laptop. I have no complaints. It is a great bit of kit and apart from a very minor mark and the fact that the top has been wrapped (I was advised that they do this if there are cosmetic marks that they cannot remove) it looks brand new. The only slight drawback is that batteries don’t appear to get replaced. The battery life in my machine is ‘fair’ and acceptable but in time this will need replacing. An easy and inexpensive fix so please do not be put off by this. What the guys at the Gadget Centre offer represents exceptional value for money for a quality product and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them and wishing them every success in the future.
A very good laptop for a very good price. Also very straightforward to order a laptop. The bag that we ordered with it didn't come but was very quickly rectified when I emailed about this. Just be aware that if you are used to dealing with brand new laptops only, there isn't the walkthrough for setting up! Would definitely use this company again and have been recommending them to friends and family.
Ordered a new to me laptop. Its been customised for my specific task which is photography. They even fitted a skin to protect from bumps and scratches. Have to say well worth the price.
My laptop arrived a couple days ago, well packaged and so far everything is working great!
Really worth it. Got the 16gb ram, 1tb SSD, core i7 laptop which has been tailored to work with OBS studio by upgrading graphics card plus 3 years of warranty. Which I haven't seen on any used laptop. The only concern for me was the battery life. But 8t turned out to be as good as new. Really worth it!
Great service and what a great idea. Took a week or so for the refurbished laptop to arrive but they contacted me when it was ready with delivery details. Laptop is exactly as I ordered. Looks really good, display is fine, all keys working. Very happy with the whole transaction.
Laptop took a little longer than expected but really happy with the product. Quality good, works straight out of the box and a fraction of the price of a new equivalent. Pleasantly surprised
