Do not buy from this company. I’ve called and called trying to get my tub fixed. 4 months now. They came out once and put a door on. Kept leaking. Said they would get me new tub. That was over 4 months ago. Now won’t even take my calls. Worse service ever! Now I have a tub I cannot use. Customer service will not do anything. Except make promises they never keep. I have had my entire kitchen remodeled and the wood floors torn out of my house and replaced. Still can’t get the tub. I spent 22000 dollars for a tub I have only used 4 times. —then my bathroom flooded. It’s a shame to have to take legal action just to take a bath in my own tub.

I've gotten to take a bath in my new tub one time in the 3 months I've had it, and it was a cold one. The tub takes 65 gallons to fill and my water heater is only 40 gallons. He said I should see a check in a couple of weeks and it's been over a month. I'm waiting. No one at American Standard is returning my calls either.

I decided we might enjoy a walk-in-tub. I started my due diligence. American Standard popped up first. I called AS. It was a call center, to my surprise, they did not have sizess? They wanted to schedule an appointment with a safety expert? The center's lady said the expert would call an hour before, to confirm. No call! I called AS back. They had no answer why the salesman did not call to confirm. I decided to check AS's customer reviews. WOW!!! I have never read so many 1star reviews. AS needs a negative 5 new category! FTC needs to sue AS, in behalf of these unsuspecting customers that wasted thousands of dollars. AS is obiously fraudulent and needs to be investigated by American Greed and put in jail next to Bernie Maddof! Sincerely, DrL

This is a follow up to my previous tub review where they sent in installers that were awful and made a mess of my tub and house. Where my contractor had to fix my walls after those so call professionals made such a mess. The installers seemed like drug addicts because of their behavior. I also had a neighbor mention to me that they thought so too even though I didn’t say anything to them they did confirm my thoughts. The company American Standard does not take responsibility for the damage saying they, “ No, that’s not what we discussed and agreed too. We leave walls paint ready, that’s what’s agreed too on our contracts. My apologies if there was a misunderstanding on what was agreed too.”. Cracks in the Sheetrock is not paint ready but they don’t take responsibility plus if you give them painted walls for $23,000.00, they should return painted walls not the shoddy job they left me with. BEWARE of AMERICAN STANDARD they do not take responsibility. It has cost me so much to fix the damage they have done.

We purchased an American Standard Liberation walk-in tub, signing the agreement on March 1, 2023. The final cost, after installation, was over $18,000, so we really expected a quality product and quality service. Neither has been true thus far. Installation was on March 15, 2023. Apparently all was good, but the next day the drain knob was loose and would not work properly. We communicated with the installer (Jennifer, a contract installer instead of the American Standard employee we were PROMISED by the representative) and she said she would order a part to fix the issue. About a week later, she called and said she was on her way, and I told her the part had not yet arrived. She said she would come anyway. When she arrived, she said "maybe" she had some spare parts in her truck that she could use to fix the problem. When she left, the drain knob was no longer loose, but when within a few days, the water would not drain without my wife or myself applying constant pressure to the drain knob lever. The part arrived the next day, and the American Standard installer said she would arrange for a return label for the part. It is still sitting in my garage, unopened. No label ever arrived. I called and left a message for the installer on April 7, 2023, telling her about the drain issue. To add insult to injury, this tub has a drainage pump that is supposed to force-drain the tub, and unless one of us holds the drain open, even that drainage system will not drain the tub. I have had to resort to a workaround fix, by looping a strong rubber band around one of the faucet bases and the lever on the drain knob. THAT IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A BATHTUB THAT COST US OVER $18,000, AND, WAS INSTALLED IN MID-MARCH 2023, AND HAS BEEN MALFUNCTIONING SINCE DAY ONE!!! Lifetime Warranty indeed. Not even a 30-day warranty! If we DO hold the drain open, sometimes the drain pump will not drain all the water from the tub unless we run it twice. When using the hand sprayer, one of the sprayer settings malfunctions so badly that when I turn it upwards, the water barely bubbles out of the sprayer head, even when I have full pressure at the faucet. I received no response from the installer by Monday, April 10, 2023, so I called American Standard and spoke with a customer service person that afternoon. She seemed to be sympathetic about the problem and said she would get someone to address the issue. We were NOT contacted by anyone about these problems. On April 13, 2023, I contacted the salesperson who sold us the tub, and he said he sent my complaint letter on to the Regional and National installation managers, as well as to his manager and his manager's boss (Javier Beuzeville, Jason Fulton, Michael Light, and Greg Strachan). He also said, "They will see that this gets solved." Since that day, I have heard nothing from any representative of American Standard, Liberation Tubs, or their contract installers. Do not waste your money on these people or their products. The products are shoddy, the installers are incompetent, and their customer service response is horrific.

Below is what I initially experienced with my shower installation by American Standard. Sadly, I experienced a perfect storm of events that created this extremely difficult situation. Thankfully, the contractor and American Standard finally made things right by getting to my place and removing the paper towels the installer forgot that were blocking sewer gas as he worked in the crawl space, and American Standard made things right with me financially for all that took place. I have changed my review from 1 to 5 stars. In the first part of February, I entered into a contract with American Standard for a walk-in shower costing about $15,500. I paid a $2,000 deposit upfront. The crew came on April 3rd, 2023 to install the shower. They try to do it in one big day and can be done if they don't run into problems. The crew was overall very professional but it did take three full days to do the installation. The next day I took my first shower. When I was totally covered in soap I realized the water was about to run over the lip of the base pan and had to shut it off right away. I then got a plunger to try and unplug the drain and it was stopped up tight. After over an hour, it hasn't drained AT ALL. I called American Standard. This is when I discovered all issues like this go through a second company that the installers work for. After over ninety minutes, and four phone calls all I'm told is that a case has been opened and the second company has been contacted. NO ONE provided me with the phone number for this company and no one can give me any idea whatsoever as to when to expect a response. So, I called my bank and put a stop payment on the $13,500 check! I then called American Standard to inform them that I had done so and that once the issue is resolved I will write another check minus the $28 fee to stop payment. The lady I talked to advised me to talk to someone in finance. So I did and that led to even further frustration the lady only told me that the warranty could be canceled for stopping payment!!!!! The big sales pitch is how everything is a lifetime warranty and all the good care that "American Standard" will provide over the years. Maybe I expect to dang much, but when a customer pays this kind of money for a product I'd expect that customer service would be quite a bit better than just telling me that a ticket has been opened and that at some arbitrary time in the future your issue will be resolved!!! At the moment I would diffidently advise you to possibly consider all your options when doing a project like this. Be leery of all the hype of promised great service as long as you own the home!! If this issue is satisfactorily resolved before the weekend I will take down my scathing reviews.

My mother's shower doors were installed incorrectly and now the company is wanting to charge my 87 year old mother additional $750 for their mistake! I called the company on her behalf to let them know the work wasn't properly done and they need to fix it. They called my mother back to say now it would cost $250. They told her they are paying $250, the contractor is going to pay $250 and they are asking her to pay $250 to correct their mistake. What kind of company takes advantage of the elderly.

They will do ANYTHING not to repair your tub. Mine needed repair a year later and I am disabled and alone and they are refusing to do a simple fix of the control panel.

We had a tub/shower conversion and a new tub installed. The lack of experience of the installers were amazing. We did not get the full service as presented be the sales person. I spoke to the installer about some issues after the iniatial installation and was told there was nothing he was going to do about my issues. Now, ninety days later both shower heads are leaking. I've had the parts for over two weeks. On the fourth phone call I was told the ticket had been reassigned. No communication or reason for the delay. I choose American Standard based on product reputation. The service and products I was sold is almost fraudulent.

I am extremely unhappy with my American Standard Liberation tub and, especially, with its service department. The tub was installed three months ago, taking over a week for the installation, and I have yet been able to take a nice relaxing bath. I’ve had to call customer service several times a week before I receive a call back from someone who can come out to check out my problems. The service people who then arrive a week or two or three later are not from American Standard, but hired contractors who can’t seem to fix any problems. It’s not like I live in a remote area – I live in the greater Washington, DC area. Why aren’t there knowledgeable American Standard technicians in my area? My issues have ranged anywhere and everywhere from air jets that have only a single speed (three were promised) and blow only cold air at a high speed, a drain that sticks shut, aromatherapy and lights that are expensive jokes, other issues …to a significantly decreased hot water pressure which results in times upwards of one to one and a half hours to fill the tub to capacity. This walk-in tub was a replacement for a standard tub that had excellent hot water pressure before it was removed. All other faucets in my house have equally good hot and cold water pressure. Therefore, I can only believe that the installation was not done correctly by a licensed plumber. American Standard now tells me I need to call my own plumber at my own expense. I’ve already invested too much money and too much energy into resolving problems that never seem to end. My latest issue with the installation involves caulk that pulls away from the seams leaving a gap for water to fall between the tub and the wall when the tub is filled with water.

Wish we would have went with another company. I expected waaaay more than what our experience was from the legendary American Standard...AND they offered an hilarious amount to compensate for leaving us without being able to bath or shower for 14 days. Now that the tub is finally installed... their offer to make it right disappeared. Pathetic.... don't recommend!!!!!

Saleman didnot know the product. WasoversLing the product. Made a mistake in measuring which cause damage to the log home to make it fit. Two jets not working. Still waiting for a call from the repIrman. Acá jets misalaigned. If you put your back to the jets you have water all over the flor. I deal with American standard product all my life. This walk in tub was a disappointment.

We just had the installation of a shower completed and I would warn anyone away from American Standard. The initial problem was that they could not start on the specified date, which was then compounded by them ordering the wrong materials on two occasions, pushing out their ability to finish in a timely manner. Finally, three weeks after the scheduled start date, our completed shower looks shockingly unprofessional and allows water to come out of the shower in several spots, making the very problem we were trying to remedy worse. For a custom shower that cost over $11,000 dollars, this is a nightmarish outcome. I am still waiting for any follow up from American Standard.

Do not give these people your number, they will call non-stop from different numbers even if you ask to be removed from their list. Very frustrating and just for this, I will never give them business.

The salesman that sold us our American Standard walk-in bathtub was very friendly. The longer her talk the more he became a friend of the family. We both committed, after he left, on how friendly he was. The teem, of two, that installed our bath tub were fast working and knew what exactly how to install the bath tub. On the second day of installment, Lance was not able to demonstrate how our bath tub ram because the electricity shut off because of the Oak Fire. We were evacuated for six days before we could return to our house. Lance came back to show us how to correctly shut our bath tub off. By the time lance left he seemed like an old friend. Very helpful and friendly.

Install crew was on time, did not make a mess and completed the shower in one day. We were very happy with the install.
