Charged £142 for delivery for 2 worktops, waiting 3 weeks and then delivery pushed back another 10 days. The items I ordered are in stock and were 2 weeks ago when order placed and can be collected. They are making sure they profiteer from the already expensive delivery charge by making you wait until they have a few deliveries in the same area. Shameful IMO. Can't comment on goods as don't have them. In reponse to the 12 day delivery that Wood and Beyond have just replied below. I have added this for clarity >>>> This order was placed 23rd August, you're telling me delivery is 18th / 19th September, that's 4 weeks + Your original date was the 9th September which was 3 weeks. Upto 12 days for delivery you say ? Somebody telling porkies here. Like I said its blatant profiteering on the delivery charge.

Not an ideal purchase or customer service. But a worktop I can work with as a desk, I couldn't use it for the kitchen though. A number of issues. Worktop 4m - arrived bowed, turning up by 1.5cm and one end. Had to be cut down from the 4m length by 2cm as corners were chipped. Multiple areas are stained with black glue between and spreading over the surface of the staves which cannot be sanded out. Delivery - was expensive for my region and was scheduled for 6am, with an update at 7am that it was about to leave the depot 4 hours away, so it didn't arrive until 11am. Having 4 people on site to help with the delivery at 6am which didn't arrive for 4 hours was costly. I contacted customer care about the delivery and worktop issues with photos taken 36 hours after delivery and requested advice. The photos showed the bowing, which was my main concern. They replied that they were unable to help as the email was sent more than 48 hours after delivery. I requested advice as to how to rectify any of these issues and they responded that the bowing must have been due to my improper storage (however, it was oiled 3 times at 8 hours apart, and placed in position within 36 hours of delivery - with the photo evidence ), and that they could do not do anything more. They restated that the worktop was unfinished as justification that the edges would need to be cut down and I would lose length, and they refused to comment on the black glue stains. NO helpful advice was offered. I complained separately to the delivery company for specifying a 6am to me for delivery when the item didn't even leave the depot until after that time, and was likely not scheduled correctly. All in all a costly experiment for me. I am not overly happy with the worktop, but it is satisfactory as a desk and I will choose to purchase elsewhere for future requirements.

I found Wood & Beyond to have a great variety of wood and the staff were very knowledgeable about flooring types and requirements. Sorina in particular helped us with purchasing the wood and underlay and was really helpful and pleasant to deal with. I would definitely recommend.
