The app is a bit glitchy erroring out before it decides to work again. I have to also have perfect reception for it to work. But I love that it is not costing me anything at the moment and that the rate charged will be less than the previous pos I was using.

Poor service. Takes up to an hour for someone to attend a phone call. They do not follow up with calls or emails as they promise.

It is easy to use, the reader disconnects to easily from the device it is connected to. That is our only complaint

REPLY to Tyro's reply: The offer to chat was what I originally agreed to, to look at whether your product was a good fit for my business. Rather than phone and engage with me, Tyro bombarded me with spam via text and email. You had the opportunity to chat, but chose not. I am pleased you would like to resolve the matter. To resolve this, by stopping marketing emails about my so called "application", as I have previously requested. Following my email of 7 September, the texts have stopped, however I continue to receive your spam emails - hence this review. I have followed up again via email to put a stop the spam I never consented to. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Recently I purchased a phone from a Telstra shop and being a business owner, was asked whether I could be agreeable to a call from Tyro to discuss their product, pricing and how it might align with my business needs. A marketing call. I agreed. No-one called to discuss the product on offer, but I received numerous texts and emails about my "application". This was not what I agreed to and is a prime example of lazy marketing. I emailed Tyro requesting they seek all email, phone and text contact. The texts have stopped, but the emails continue weeks after my request, despite receiving an email that all contact would case. I strongly recommend not giving your permission to be contacted, as all you will receive is unwanted spam. As for the product, very expensive and far more expensive than my current payment provider for online payments.

This is the most useless company I’ve ever dealt with in Australia. Don’t bother with them. Look elsewhere.

UPDATE: Tyro has not contacted me, and my complaint was raised two months ago and is still not resolved. Absolutely the worst financial institution I have ever dealt with. They use dated paper forms and to do anything administratively with them is more bureaucratic than the government. It is easier to leave Tyro than adhere to their ridiculous manner of operating.

We had our EFTPOS breakdown (for unknown reason) after 6 months of use, then it took them 1 week (with constant phone calls from our team) to send a replacement EFTPOS. The replacement they sent was soiled and sticky, so we asked for a new model. The new model lasted 6 months before breaking down again. Calling everyday asking for them to ship our a new terminal, and being told "It will be shipped today", but it doesn't get shipped. Customer Service people explaining to me how someone on their team didn't do the right thing. Why would we care about the failure of their internal processes, we just want our EFTPOS to be working. No compensation either time for the thousands of dollars of lost revenue. This could be the worst EFTPOS provider on the market.

From now onwards I will avoid places who are using Tyro payments, I mean it's enough already, things are already too expensive as it is in Australia and I am being charged for the transection fee on top of that because the shop has Tyro eftpos machine????? What the fk?? Your bill starts at lets say $29.50 as soon as you tap your card, a new screen comes ... transection fee may be charged ... next second the bill is $30.50, no explanation, it's a Highway Robbery. Someone should hold these id**T's accountable for their unethical practices
