Next time you send an item to europe, don't write the original price from the items, please, but a lower one, so that the import taxes are less. I had to pay 10,65€ extra tall fee. all chinese vendors do so. Thank you.

In terms of supplying the item speedily, very good, but charging the full "recommended price", when the record is availabe cheaper in most other outlets, is something of an own goal...

Repairs to two recorders were carried out speedily and with excellent results. The re-voicing of one turned a poor instrument into a very good one, and the re-threading and thumb bushing in the the other have prolonged its life. I would go back in the future.

I went to get an instrument valued and to buy some strings for it. The staff were friendly, helpful and valued my instrument quickly.

Having purchased a beautiful olive wood alto recorder on line I was extremely excited to receive it and to begin using it. The early music shop had been highly recommended by a fellow professional musician and colleague, and so even though this was a considered purchase, I felt the purchase would be well worth it. Unfortunately this experience did not proceed reliably, and when I expressed my concerns about the faulty instrument , I felt customer services did not deal with my problems promptly or satisfactorily, meaning I was left without the instrument I had been so looking forward to owning. Perhaps it was because I purchased the instrument on line, however the amount of time all this took and the deep disappointment I felt was unpleasant, as was the final refund I received, which took 3 emails before gaining a response. I received no apology or offered a satisfactory solution when I presented the initial problem. I am sure that everyone at the shop is very busy and perhaps in other cases, when one has not purchased the instrument on line, there may be a more personal approach, but I very sadly did not find it so, and am left feeling extremely disappointed. I also received no apology and neither did I receive a refund for my return postage and packing. Not an enjoyable experience.

The repair to my recorder was very well done and the price was reasonable. The email communication directly with the repairman was clear and timely. However, I was unhappy with other communication. One issue, that might have led to other issues, was that my customer account was only created when I pointed out that I needed to pay for the repair. There didn't appear to be a system for tracking receipt of my recorder, nor that it was repaired and ready to post. However, it was very well packed and posted promptly once everything was sorted.

Trying out a number of instruments in Saltaire was a relaxed and pleasurable experience. I was considering either a theorbo or a baroque guitar, and Peter had arranged for the theorbo to be stringed and tuned as requested. In the event, I didn't cope well with the theorbo, and so chose the baroque guitar instead. It's a decision I'm very happy with.
