Delivery took far longer than advertised and I think you took the money at the time of ordering. If so it would be reasonable to pay me any interest you made over that period. At one point I rang you but you never contacted me with updates.

My experience of the Early Music staff at the LIFEM was that they were very knowledgeable, patient - even on the last day of the exhibition; just the right balance of letting me choose and try the instruments and helpful advice, which I greatly appreciated.

Being able to try so many recorders- even going outside with them. I was unsure whether to have a tenor with keys or without. Good advice given and the chance to try out all kinds of keys and no keys.

In 2022, I bought the Lu-Mi bass viol after Barak Norman. It has a nice sound, and is more than enough of an instrument for a beginner like me. However, I was dismayed to see, when it arrived here in the US, that the scroll at the top of the viol was broken off and lying loose in the case. The instrument had not been secured with padding inside the case from knocking back and forth lengthwise, and there is a fair amount of play in that dimension. I mentioned the problem to EMS staff. They said they generally pack shipments well, were sorry, didn't know what had happened, and would look into the matter. And that was the end of it- I heard nothing more. Certainly, there was nothing to be gained by shipping the viol back to EMS and asking for another instrument, since it plays well, so I had the scroll repaired by a luthier I know. Nevertheless, the experience was disappointing, and I will hesitate to do business with them again. PS- There appears to be a one-year limitation on submitting reviews. However, I felt that people should be able to see it, so I have entered a fictitious purchase date.

I attended on a Monday and had to wait a very long time to purchase a Bass sling, because of incoming phone calls. Apparently usually nobody comes to the shop on Mondays, I missed a bus on an hourly service. I admit I hadn't realised the service was only once an hour, nor was I aware of the actual time past the hour.
