Not very helpful. They sent the wrong screws... 3 times!!! I had to order the correct ones from an on-line 3rd party.... took a month of delays!!!
I was satisfied with their products and the delivery time. In addition, their customer service is outstanding. I have been referring them ever since my order.
High quality product
I contacted stair supply for a quote on our new home build. They worked closely with me and reviewed floor plans and pictures to create the design. Unfortunately, my builder wouldn't budge and wanted to use his local supplier. Stair supplies quote was cheaper and with a higher quality product (steel posts vs aluminum). We have a clause in our building contract that prevents us from altering suppliers and subcontractors so I ultimately was not able to make a purchase. However, I did want to comment on their excellent customer service, quick turn around on questions, attention to detail. Darby was particularly helpful.

I purchased custom risers from StairSupplies, because I didn't want to mess around with having to rent a saw and do all kinds of cutting. The price for the custom made to measure stair risers in "paint grade" wood, really was only a couple of dollars more than if I had bought them from Home Depot and then cut them down. I received the custom risers in a couple weeks and the quality of the wood was AMAZING!! I wanted to simply paint these, but now I think I may just clear coat them because they are beautiful! If these are "paint grade" I'd love to see the better grades of wood! I only had to plane down the ends on a couple of the risers, otherwise they were PERFECT! I couldn't be happier!!!
Love my new railing from Stair Supplies... the quality is excellent, I was able to create my own design of wrought iron balusters using their design tool so I have an original design using circles and wavy lines... easy to order and install too
Prices on a common item such as a red oak balusters and handrails are 220% higher than several other online retailers. I brought that fact to the attention of my salesperson @ Stair Supplies and he didn't seem very concerned about the info I gave him. I placed my order with another online retailer.....
Horrible customer service and rude. They make it sound so easy to return unused product and encourage you to order more than you need so you have enough to complete the job but make it difficult to return. They charge a 7.5% fee on cancelled orders of stock items even if material is not shipped and delay is their fault and a 15% restocking fee on returned materials. Only gave a 2 star rating since I’m not sure how materials are because I never got them but if anything like their customer service I would be worried. Don’t buy, you won’t be happy!
Product is great but it wouldn't take much to make the return process easier. All they would have to do is put in a return shipping label for the installation equipment.
Great product, terrible customer service. Took 4 weeks to get custom sized treads which seemed excessive but maybe that it typical...When all 11 treads were received 5 of them were 6" shorter than ordered. After providing them with my original order/ email they accepted responsibility then said it would be another 6 weeks to make! My clients have 3 children and they had to live in a house with only 50% of treads installed and NO HANDRAIL on a radius stairway. After many phone calls and emails to owner and CEO they said they would build my order next. I received my order 3 weeks later. Their product is exceptional but they suffer greatly in customer service. If not for the huge (2nd) delay I would have given them 5 stars.

I am a flooring contractor and I was a little nervous about buying something that would be hard to return and could mess up a long and detailed project schedule, but the stairs came when they said they would, they were the size that they were supposed to be, and they are beautiful.

Had a delay in order because stain back order and most unhappy with when it was shipped to R/L trucking company for delivery only got 1 box out of 2 and had to call trucking company to check on other box and call stair supplies and Rep check on status and never call me back on what they found out . Trucking never call back I had to call them to see where package was then had a second day of my time waiting for delivery unacceptable and all railing came in very dusty with wood dust had to clean all of the material I order .
The experience with Stair Supplies was one of the best I have ever had. Quick responses, very knowledgeable people, delivered on time and accurate. Great help in designing the railing system and beautiful product.
Ordered 4 finished railings with mounts. Packaged well. Finish even. Joints tight. Wood grain even. It all matched the pictures.
Shipping too a little while but the product and customer service is excellent.
I have used Stair Supplies Before and found them to be excellent. This last time I had a couple problems. The first problem was a hand rail missing from the delivered materials. The next issue I encountered was the instructions didn't match the product. The issues cause me a delay in finishing the project and required additional part to complete. Star Supplies was quick to fix the problem and send the necessary pieces. Overall I have been very satisfied with Stair Supplies.
I had ordered a few samples so that I could be sure to match my existing wood stain; however, the final product was not even close, not by a long shot. After viewing the photos I sent to customer service, I was told by a supervisor that this is "standard wood and grain variation." Wow! Folks, just be forewarned that you cannot rely on the samples to be indicative of what you will receive. Would have loved to have provided 5 stars to a company in my home state, but in good conscience, sadly, I cannot go above a 2.
