I recently bought a Pono MGT all solid from SUS and the experience was a shining example of how buying a ukulele should be (online or otherwise). Prompt answers to all the questions I had, friendly and competent advice. The whole process of sending my first inquiery to holding my new uke in my hands took only 10 days (I live in Norway). I've ordered 3 ukes from these guys and every single time the service has been impeccable. Shipping is always incredibly fast but the care taken in setting up the instruments and quality checking them before they're sent out is what keeps me coming back to them. If I order from SUS I know I'm getting a good instrument. This time around I went for the Millar SP-210L Spruce/Acacia long neck soprano. I'd seen Baz from gotaukulele had given it a great review and I wanted a solid spruce top soprano but with a few extra frets. It arrived today and I can't stop looking at it/can't put it down. It's an absolute beauty. The woods used are delicious. The volume is a surprise for a smaller instrument and the tone is delightful. I'm a fan of worth brown strings which is what this uke comes with, and it's so easy to play and absolutely sings. Incredible value for money and I'd definitely recommend ordering one from SUS. Had to add to the glowing reviews here, SUS is a brilliant retail experience. I've been twice now, last year to buy a Flight Fireball and the other day to get a Flight Diana and have the fireball setup checked (I thought the action was a bit low, my fault as I asked for it to be lowered when I bought it) and to get a different set of strings. The service I got was second to none and there's nothing like the real expertise on offer here. They had the strings I was after, but Guns was able to tell me that I might not be happy with the flexibility of the low G string, suggesting I get a different, wound low G instead, matching up well with the other strings but also giving me the option of changing back to a high g (he sold me the high g set) without any further hassle, should I so desire later. It was so helpful, informative and the uke sounds great. Add to this their easy-going, friendly attitude and I doubt there's a better place to buy a musical instrument anywhere! In person or online, if you want a uke or anything ukulele-related, go to SUS.

Just received a custom "Ukes with Alex" D'Addario string set for my Uluru acacia baritone - low GCEA tuning. The strings have a comfortable feel, & the tone is clear, crisp, and beautiful! Far superior to other GCEA baritone sets I've tried. Thanks again, SUS!

Couldn't be happier with the service, delivery or the instrument. Very nicely set up strap buttons, too. I was contacted with a concern that a sopranissimo ukulele would be devalued by adding two strap buttons, but I asked them to go ahead and do it anyway, and I'm happy with the outcome. Thank you. :)

I cannot praise highly enough the professional, helpful and enthusiastic people at SUS. I had a warranty problem with a Kala baritone and the team, especially Phil, did their utmost to sort it out. The shop is spacious and comfortable, the people in there knowledgeable and friendly, and the whole experience is second to none.

Five star customer service at The Southern Ukulele store. Worth travelling a long way to have this choice of ukulele and expert guidance . Lovely spacious store with good lighting , sofas , music stands , everything you need to feel at ease whilst playing. Alex was super helpful and massively well informed about the instruments . I chose a Japanese made soprano Kiwaya KTS4 and am thrilled with it. I wouldn’t buy a ukulele anywhere else and can’t rate it highly enough. Car park opposite had a faulty machine and the app wasn’t working but I didn’t get a ticket so that was a bonus. Thank you SUS staff. Top notch experience. I’ve been in contact with SUS a number of times over the last few months with enquiries from Kanelia Ukes to Aquila strings. Regardless of the value of the order they responded with the same enthusiasm, knowledge and passion. My Aquila strings arrived today super fast with excellent communication. I’m in the market for a new Uke also and am on the waiting list for when the model I want comes into stock.. I could buy locally but you just won’t get the same service/detail unless you buy from SUS. Thanks for everything 😍

This week I ordered a Kanile'a KSR-T which arrived, perfectly packaged, within 24 hours. This is a stunning instrument with outstanding playability and tone, and absolutely beautifully figured Koa which has totally exceeded all of my expectations. It will be a joy to own and play. The instrument was accurately presented and described on the website in a lively and informative way, and the store offers an impressively wide range of quality instruments. This is my third instrument purchased from the store, previous instruments being a beautiful cedar and rosewood tenor Pono, and the outstandingly excellent value for money Flight Fireball. On each occasion I have been impressed by the unvarying excellence of the service which the store provides.

Great advice from SUS on shortlisting choices for my first ukulele. At the store Alex could not have been more helpful, kind and patient in showing me an impressive range of beautiful instruments. I came away with an absolute pearl: the KoAloha KTM-10 Pikake.

So two days ago I sent an email to SUS asking for an odd recommendation looking for a new tenor ukulele. Excellent company, the staff are really knowledgeable and helpful. I just purchased a kiwaya mini pineapple, it arrived promptly, with a lovely set up, almost in tune, you can tell it had been tuned before shipping, but had drifted slightly during transit.
