I bought an Uma Tenor from SUS who set it up for me and I'm over the moon, it's just fabulous. SUS is 150 miles away but they provide so much information including reviews that I knew more about this uke than I would have known if I had driven 300 miles and spent hours in the shop. I know how it sounds in the hands expert and whilst I will never reach that level it's inspired me to play more.

I enjoyed watching the ukulele comparison videos very much!! They helped me discern the sound subtleties and extensive details of each instrument. Purchasing and shipping was easy. I love my new ukulele! Thank you! Maria

What can I say, the guys at SUS are amazing. There is passion in what they do and are willing to spend time with people and answer questions. They are patient and want to share their passion. This is why I purchase from them and continue to purchase from them. Keep in mind I from the West coast in the U.S. It's a good thing they are so far away because I would be in the store all the time spending all my money.

Went to buy a Uke and bought two (Soprano & Concert). Immediately knew I would also need the Tenor with high & low G. String postage is fast too.

I’ve always had good service from Alex and the team at Southern Ukulele with regard to strings and sundry items. My recent purchase was a new Soprano (The second ukulele I’ve sourced through them) and after a few emails and phone calls where we discussed price point, shape, nut width, pickup etc we narrowed it down to a Flight Fireball. My final task was to choose the actual Uke, as he had 5 different models in stock. At this stage we’d built so much trust that I simply asked Alex to choose for me, and he sent me an absolute beauty which arrived safe and sound 24 hours later. I can’t recommend them highly enough . After seeking help from the guys at SUS I was advised that an Ohana BK14 (B stock) Baritone would meet my needs. Having previously purchased two other ukes from them I had no hesitation in seeking their help. As it was B stock I was little uncertain but upon arrival it was in pristine condition with no flaws. To say I was happy with my purchase is an understatement. This is a serious organisation with genuine people who are keen to help and give honest advice without trying to oversell. I can't rate them highly enough.

If you want to get a ukulele or even just advise this store is a one stop shop, Rob and the team are knowledgeable experienced friendly and passionate about the instruments they sell. After seeing Alex on youtube and hearing the ukuleles and getting advice from Rob I got the ukulele I wanted. Sales and after sales are why I would recommend them 100% to anyone who wants a quality product from a professional team..

Really helpful YouTube videos helped me to decide upon which ukulele to go for. Brilliant Customer Service - Alex and the guys did a great job of sorting out my queries, installing the pickups and strap hardware. Would definitely use them again.

I have a number of ukes in the past and good service from SUS. I recently took delivery of a Pepe Romero Mango Grand Tenor. The advice given by Alex was invaluable, as was his advice on strings. The Pepe Romero uke is brilliant. It's well made, well finished, the wide neck suits me an it has a wonderful sound that can be soft and mellow through to downright dark. Its not the right tool to stand out on a uke band,it's ideal for solo fingerstyle and gentle strumming. Value for money. Yes !!!!!!! Better than many ukes with 4 figure price tag.

Go to these guys, you will not be disappointed. They are a team of people that will find you exactly what you need. Living in France I talked to them via email & zoom over a few weeks and I now have the one and only uke that's right for me. They asked me to describe what I was looking for and with the help of their you-tube videos I was able to find some reference points to start from. I got the impression that they will find for you what you want and will not sell sell what you don't want. In fact, I bet they would rather not make a sale than have you disappointed with the wrong Uke; even when the Use I wanted was out of stock they told me to wait until a new batch came in rather than sell me something else - these guys are there to pair you with the right ukulele.

Brilliant service. I took in a ukulele for re-stringing and also purchased a new Kala concert ukulele. Despite short notice on a busy day, the staff could not have been more helpful.They are real experts on all things ukulele! I would highly recommend.

Way back in June 2022, I decided to startlearning the ukulele and knew nothing about what to buy. So on recommendation of a ukulele-playing friend, I went to SUS. Best thing I could have done. I just said I want a mid-range instrument for around £100. The Kai KTI 100M tenor was produced and that was it! Looks nice, sounds nice, easy to play with a gig bag.. Fantastic no-fuss advice I couldn't have got anywhere else..It was worth the 70 mile journey! Thanks.

Last November I bought a wonderful KoAloha ukulele from Southern Ukulele Store. Unfortunately I hadn't noticed that it was strung with a low G and I prefer a high G. I then ordered some nylon strings but they didn't suit the ukulele. The A string tuner had become very stiff when I put the string on. I then ordered some fluorocarbon strings which were going on well until I got to the A string. The tuner became almost impossible to turn and then clicked and slackened and I couldn't tune the string at all. I spoke to SUS and Rob asked me to send a photo of the tuner. I did so and as soon as he received my mail with the photo he promptly put a replacement tuner in the post which I received the following morning and it works perfectly. Excellent service as always from SUS.

Bought a lovely 8 string baritone Ukulele from them a while back and absolutely love it but really struggled to find a good case for it. I emailed SUS and got a prompt reply from Alex, that they did have a case that would fit the 8 string head. Got a link to a hard case, which I ordered and it's perfect. Very helpful and good quality gear. What's not to like?!

Bought a gorgeous Flight Fireball from them after looking at many different SUS review videos which are honest and informed, then chatting and discussing my thoughts and options on the phone with the guys there and I'm so happy with my final choice!! The best UK Uke Store that truly ticks all the boxes. Watch out Europe!!

This store and the staff are beyond helpful. It’s been a complete pleasure dealing with them. The expertise and quality of the work and pride put into every ukulele before leaving is second to none. Scoured the internet because of my uncertainty as to which Concert uke to buy, and was mightily impressed with the SUS website. Indeed, "Ukes with Alex" videos were an invaluable aid to the selection process. In fact, after contacting Rob for his thoughts on the Snail S60C all solid flamed acacia instrument which had caught my eye, I had no hesitation in making a purchase. This uke may have been made in China, but talk about value for money considering its specification. Beautifully made with stunning looks, solid flamed acacia body - back, side and top - finished in gloss. Great sound and playability, with intonation spot on - wow! absolutely delighted with my purchase. This one ticks all the boxes! If anyone asked me to recommend a uke, I would not hesitate to put them in touch with SUS. Excellent service from SUS. Huge thanks!

Bought the SUS Flight Carabao a few weeks ago (love it) and got it send to me in the Netherlands, quick and friendly respons to my questions by mail. Won’t be my last purchace with these guys….

I bought my 3rd Ukelele, mail order, from SUS this week, very speedy service ordered Monday delivered by Wednesday. I purchased the Kala instrument after reviewing many video demo’s by the team whilst looking for something £250 to £300 budget in a solid wood. I visited the shop a few years back and met with great service there and they have a large inventory.
