My husband & I had a great time on Platypus Tours on 3/4/24; we highly recommend the tour. Our tour guide, Steve, was really good, wine was good, lunch was good.

The bus was nice and clean! Linda picked great wineries and supplied us with the perfect shipping box for our wines. It was a fun time!

A very nice full day outing. Great guide. Small, fun group from throughout the US. Outstanding venues with some very tasty wines. Pace was casual and just right.

Chris was an amazing guide and we really had the best time! We scheduled the tour to celebrate my husband‘s birthday and this was the perfect, laid back way to do so. All of the wineries that Chris took us to were really special and we shipped home a lot of fun wine to continue to remember our trip- actually one of the shipments just arrived, which eased the pain of having to go home and go back to work today 😂. We will be recommending this tour to all of our friends and family.

Gary was very knowledgeable and brought us to small Intimate wineries with good stories and great wine.

We've used Platypus 5 or 6 times. The company is amazing. The guides/drivers are great, knowledgeable and friendly. Wineries are small and family owned. They try to not repeat wineries and so for we've had no repeat visits. Joined a few wine clubs. The price is good for what you get -- driver, lunch, comfortable van, nice owners/wine educators at wineries. Would do again when we go back.

Pros: Very friendly and responsive staff. Clean and comfortable bus with complimentary waters. Cons: Too much down time. We went to 3 wineries, but I think we easily could have gone to 4. Also, BRING SNACKS! We were starvinggggg.

We had such a fantastic tour guide- Army. The weather was rainy, but our tour brightened the day with visits to four small family run wineries where we were treated royally at each one, as they knew Army and Platypus Tours. We highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on our wine tour with tour guide Army. Army was informative and had a welcoming and funny personality. Our tour companions were wonderful and made the experience even better. Despite the rain, we thoroughly enjoyed the three smaller wineries we toured. It was so nice to see wineries I may not have found on my own.

I liked the wineries we went to and the other people we were with. Lunch was very good. Price made a lot of sense. Also liked the marking / packaging of the wine. BUT - Our tour guide (Andy) was difficult. He was somewhat condescending throughout the day and would not let us talk about things that were not him instructing us (he interrupted a few times). Even over lunch he sat with us and despite us wanting to talk among ourselves required us to keep listening to him. Would not recommend if it was with Andy.

We had a great tour experience in Somona with Linda. We went in February..off season, and during some pretty significant rains. Linda took us to 3 great local spots for tasting. Loved the personal attention we received at each location. Tastings at each spot were $25 a person, which was fair in our opinion. Wines were varied at each location, but ALL were very good. We were staying at the Candlelight Inn, and Linda picked us up right at the Inn. Lunch during the tour was very good, and water was provided on the bus and the wineries as well. We will be back!

Great, friendly Courtney guided us to several nice wineries, the best was Backstage where the owner sat us by a fireplace and really explained everything! Bought a case! Even a quick stop at an olive oil company along the way!

I think you have a good product, and we enjoyed having Army narrate the day and he taught us quite a bit about the Valley's history. We also enjoyed the group of people we were with, and so all of this made for a nice day. Having said that, we were disappointed with our wine stops. Paoletti was a bit strange right from the start with the reception we received from the winery employee. The wines were subpar and we had to rapid-fire taste 7 different wines. The winery did not lead the tasting, that was instead done by our tour guide Army. We attempted to engage the winery employee again at the end and she did not want to speak with us and seemed bothered we were there. Tedeschi was better overall, but it felt like they were not 100% prepared for us to be there. Wines were just ok. H*L*R Cellars was our favorite stop, but more so because of the owner. He was an interesting guy, with a beautiful property, but just average wines. We had asked our hotel concierge about wine tours, but we also specifically told her we wanted smaller wineries with great wine; we did not get that experience. We spent a week in Napa Valley and by the end we had purchased nearly 4 cases of wine and joined two wine clubs. These were all smaller wineries. We bought two bottles from the tour wineries (Tedeschi and H*L*R) and it was to just be polite. We liked the tour. We liked the people who we were with. We liked Army. We did not like the wineries.
