I've been using From Japan for quite awhile but now I can say the service is ridiculous due to the charges they implement. Do not purchase from them if you can actually find a forwarder to do so. They charge tracking fee now which previously they don't. This is a load of bull crap. The tax and all are fine but you have to end up paying 40-50 USD or 60 - 70 SGD for normal shipping at the end of the day with all the handling fees and etc. They don't tell you in advance if the item needs domestic mailing.

Item was received damaged in shipping. The shipping company thankfully refunded me for the item, but had to refund this company directly for the shipping costs. Because of this, I'd asked FromJapan to refund the shipping costs for the defective item (which they already got back from the shipper), and they have refused and stopped answering inquiries. Pretty bad experience and can no longer trust this company to make purchases from the Japanese market - they've taken money they have essentially done nothing for, pocketing the refunded shipping costs.

I believe Fromjapan is the best proxy service in Japan. I've been purchasing my collections via Fromjapan for many years with the following reasons; - 1. Their service comes with reasonable service fees 2. They give me a lot of options for international shipping couriers with reasonable cost rates. 3. The customer service is very much responsive, and the staffs try to meet my requirements most of the time. 4. I believe their packing quality stands above the other proxy services and forwarders 5. Customer service team gets back to you super quick, they are kind and will work with you on issue resolution and order customization. For me, I asked if they could remove wick ration and flint from a collectible lighter only available in japan, these parts couldn’t be shipped overseas. They said yes!! I now have my special lighter! I will be using their service again!
The service is pretty good until you ask for a refund. I purchased an item that turned out to be defective. The seller had a free return period, so I thought that there wouldn't be any issues with returning the item. As it turns out, From Japan's return policy overrides the seller's. They asked for a description of the defect, pictures and videos, all of which I provided. I informed them that I was willing to send the item back at my own expense. By this time the seller's return period had expired well beforehand. They have told me that the refund is under review. That was almost six months ago. Every time I asked for an update they say "upper management is reviewing the case". Upper management is either totally inept, or they have no intention of resolving this issue, or both.

AWFUL experience with Fromjapan. I buy a lot from Japanese proxies. Previously I have used Zenmarket and looking at my statistics I have spent just under 2 million yen under 2 months. I decided to try Fromjapan due to them having regular campaigns on Mercari and the like. I spent a decent amount and have probably around 200 purchases after 2-3 months. Other than horrible UI/UX design on their web page, everything was fine. Until I had to ship the items. First, it seems you cannot send bigger package by surface post as other proxies leaving you with a big cost for using another shipping company. For example: I bought 5 Sega Saturns from one seller and I couldn't (!) Ship them via surface post. At Zenmarket, I once bought 6 and had no issues shipping them via surface post as they allow max 20kg and it was well within the size limit. Had to pay for a very expensive Fedex shipping. Another issues is that from the same seller I bought another 5 set of Sega Saturn and this would cost 4000 yen more to send with the same shipping option. Very weird. But the worst- like many others, I buy a lot of lots of Gameboys, Minidisc and the like. Just browse Reddit or Instagram to see the popularity. But when I wanted to ship my lots, they couldn't unless they DISPOSE 10 of 12 inbuilt batteries. Keep in mind I used Fedex and as per their regulations it's possible to send more than 2 items with inbuilt li-ion with a few extra steps/declaration. Zenmarket would simply take them out, package them individually, and mark this down on package. In the end the customer service made no help or effort, and I had to dispose for some of the items I paid for just to get them shipped. Items I never had any issues with other proxys. It was a big costly mistake to switch to fromjapan.
I have made multiple purchases through One Map, and am satisfied with each interaction! As a first-time customer to this type of service, their instructions were clear and easy to understand. They have a variety of shopping sites that can be accessed through their website for ease of access. They also release coupons frequently. They have a wide variety of shipping options, as well as item consolidation for shipping. Shipping options are explained (speed, price) well and shipping dates are generally pretty accurate. Customer service has been attentive to my messages. I’ve had a good experience so far!
The best proxy!
This was my first time using FJ. I was impressed with the turnaround time of the “buy it now” service. Was less than 1 hour for my items. Also l, they were able to purchase an item of Jimoty for me and coordinate shipping and postage payment with the seller on my behalf which I think is pretty impressive. One of my items contained more than the allotted x2 AA batteries that Japan post will allow for air freight, which meant that I was not able to select that option. I made a request to ask if the warehouse staff could please remove the batteries from the toy and, while it did take some time for them to perform, they did complete my request and as such my item became eligible for more international shippers. Because I had ordered several items, the total size of the shipped boxes exceeded the maximum size of multiple shippers. So I made another request for the warehouse team to please assess wether my items could be safely consolidated into one box and withstand the bumps of international freight, or to inform me if not possible and await further instructions (which was I imagine a fairly unusual request). The consolation pathway also asks you to select your preferred shipping method, so that the staff can consolidate your items with your shipper in mind. I selected surface post (via sea) for this option, and I was a little worried that maybe I had now locked myself into that specific option. The warehouse staff responded very quickly request and consolidated my items into a large box that remained within the maximum limit for what appeared to be the majority of the shippers available. I was also very happy to see that when I proceeded through the shipping checkout process that I was not in fact locked into the option I had chosen as my preference (surface via sea) but I could still choose other methods (EMS, ECMS, airmail, DHL etc) and ended up choosing a different faster method because it represented good value. Overall Jake and Jess (the support agents I deal with primarily) were very professional and responsive and submitted my warehouse requests promptly and gave me advice on navigating the process. I wanted to give a special thank you to each of them and also to the talented warehouse staff. I also really liked how I was able to use my bonus points (that I had eared via a coupon on one of my purchases) towards my shipping charge. So yeah, overall I was very impressed with my first experience with FJ. I really like that they can/will accommodate reasonable bespoke requests, and you aren’t funneled into a one-size-fits-all proxy approach. While the processing time of my unusual requests did take slightly longer than I had hoped, the requests were unusual, and the staff did complete the requests, and the whole process was completed well within the free storage period.

I have made a number of purchases using One Map and have always found the service to be excellent. Often there are products that are more easily available in Japan than in Europe, and since Rakuten closed their European websites it has been necessary to use a forwarding service like the one provided by One Map. I have always found their support team to be extremely responsive and helpful, and they are very prompt dealing with purchases and with shipping. Fees charged are very reasonable and there are multiple shipping options available whenever it is possible. I am happy to recommend One Map to anyone wanting to purchase goods from Japanese websites.
