This is my second review, but really wanted to share due to another recent experience. I had some difficulty ordering some items that were very popular and FromJapan did their best to check the website in a timely manner to try and order for me. The customer service always goes above and beyond & because of this, I will be a loyal customer. I highly recommend them
Very clear and fast communication, able to solve the issue smoothly.
Will be ceasing to use the site shortly and migrating to the competitor. After 2 years of use and spending over 5,000,000 Yen on the site, I simply asked for an extra day for a storage deadline due to another item arriving 1 day later (So I can ship them all together). I get that this is poor planning on my behalf, but all factors involved (Including how much I have spent with the site) the firm response stating that my item will automatically be disposed of and reiterating the T&Cs for asking for an extra day, was the kicker. A bit of customer service and empathy with some slight bending for a large customer thats purchased over 100 items would have really made a big difference.
Great service and easy to use interface. Easy to place orders from Japan and shipping is fast. Allowed me to get items that I could not find elsewhere and limited to Japan.
Bought a couple of things from Japan. They come fast, well package. Shipping price is descent and they provide many options of shipping. I will definitely keep doing business.
FromJapan is great when things run smoothly. That said, when issues arise, customer service is slow and rather useless. I am unsure what level of qualifications the CSR people have, but they are sorely lacking in this department. We are not just basing this on an isolated incident but rather an accumulation of experiences. Simply put, this organization cannot be relied upon to assist customers beyond basic ordering and fulfillment in a timely and effective manner.
So far is smooth, if create the shipment via vessels much better because can send the bulk items.
Edit: 11/13. My product arrived! Very well packaged and delivered rapidly! It was a large order and somewhat heavy/oversized, but no matter - it came in perfect condition. Of course it was a little expensive but extremely fair priced and I would have paid more for the service, easily. I am grateful to have found this company. It would be a mistake to use another. Thank you!
Best customer service I've dealt with in years.
I’ve been ordering stuff from FromJapan for more than a year and they’re really kind, fast, and focused on customer service :) definitely one of the best proxy services I worked with! 💕
Customer service has been very helpful and I have gotten responses in a timely manner despite emailing outside of the working hours. The website is easy to use and make purchases, but I wish there were more discount coupons since shipping can be quite expensive depending on the item(s) and weight.
Pretty much I like how they negotiate 10%. Only problem is shipping. I’m paying almost double shipping. Yet, it say free shipping to japan. Which means, thats area of storage items that will free for 45days Therefore, i should pay only japan to USA shipping . Not seller shipping fee to storage japan.
This is the first time I have used the FromJapan service. I read the terms and conditions of service beforehand, so I can't understand why some customers are dissatisfied. Everything is transparent, from the costs to the storage conditions. Customer service was very quick to respond to my request for a translated invoice and order confirmation, which I needed for the customs office. Customer service is very friendly and helpful! The parcel arrived today - even goods such as detergent pods arrived safely and securely in Austria. I can therefore only recommend FromJapan and will continue to use it myself :)
Repeat user for both single and multi-item orders, staff are always helpful and pricing is great for the level of service provided. Would recommend easily especially for those new to buying through international proxy services.
Very reliable company. They have the lowest fees among all proxy service in Japan. You can ask anything their Customer service. They respond in time. I've been using them for almost 10 years.
CS replies in timely manner, proffesional and friendly. They can negotiate price of up to 10% that I hope can exceed up to 12-15% as long as the seller is willing to give up the item. Cons. Shipping fee is quite high for a small item and an additional fee for a tracking number which is automatically provided by the freight company. Few coupons available unlike other proxy websites. I hope in the future you can add this choice of decreasing the item value for custom clearance purposes because even the post where I am collecting my parcel suggest to ask the sender to decrease the item value.
Vast choices of products, can find almost anything. Great customer service. Been using this platform for almost 2years and it has been great!!!! Recommended
Fantastic customer service, much better than the competitor proxy Buyee. Also considerably less fees than other proxies, smoother watchlist and bidding process, and easier site navigation. I will stick with One Map by FromJapan for all Japanese bids💯
I have been using FJ a few times in the past year for purchasing items mostly on Mercari. Customer support is very knowledgeable. They are also swift with processing your shipping, and it takes roughly 1 week to arrive to New Zealand. Recently I had paid for an item to be shipped, but made another purchase on the same day. I reached out to their customer support in the hopes that they would be able to stop the shipment so that I could combine the two items to save on shipping costs. Fortunately, they were able to stop this in time and allowed me to combine the shipping. I appreciate their fast and prompt actions taken.
I have spent tens of thousands of dollars with FromJapan on items from Japan. In September of 2024, I ordered a VHS tape set for $350 off Amazon.co.jp using FromJapan. One VHS tape in the set was VERY rare, ther other were 3 less rare tapes that I already own and know the value of. I would place the rare single tape's value at $200. The tapes arrived in October. I received 4 tapes, but the rare tape was missing. In its place was a common VHS tape that was nowhere near as valuable. I went back to check on the Amazon ad I used on FromJapan's site to see what videos were listed. The ad I used to buy it on FromJapan now went to a different Amazon product page entirely. I fear their site listed some old information incorrectly, which misled me into buying the wrong tape set. This is a mistake FJ should cover. They also did not review what was received to make sure it matched what was ordered. This is also a mistake that FJ should cover. I immediately asked FromJapan for help in the form of a partial refund, $200, the value of the rare tape that was missing. They said they wouldn't refund me *any* money unless I could produce a previous auction from the internet where the rare tape cost that much. They absolutely ignored that I had just spent $350 on it. FJ wanted a separate auction from anywhere with a sale showing it was worth $200. Of course, if something is that rare, it may NEVER have been listed on an auction before. What do I do in that situation? FromJapan said they could give a full refund if I mailed the tapes back to Japan. This of course is insane - I am not going to just send all the tapes back and risk them getting lost in the international mail. I want a refund first, then I will send the tapes back. Anything else is just asking me to take risk on for FJ's blatant mistakes. Why can't I just have my partial refund? I didn't even ask for ALL the money, just what the rare tape was worth. FromJapan acts like they can't go ask for a refund from Amazon, or use their business insurance to cover the loss that MIGHT be occurred by sending me a partial refund. Unacceptable! Edit: I do not support FromJapan in any way after how you all treated me. From Japan asked me to prove the value of the rare tape if I wanted a refund. I told them it was so rare it doesn't have other listings on auctions. They did not care. However, I went and got proof of the value of the 3 tapes I received. The value was around $70-80. I spent $350 on the 3 tapes and the missing tape. Take $70 from that $350 and you have the value of the missing tape: $270. I was actually owed $270 for the missing tape. I have ONLY been asking for $200 this whole time, LESS than the missing tape is worth. As soon as I proved this to FJ, they said they would not do business with me further. As soon as I showed them they had to pay me, they backed out of their deal. I have opened a claim with Paypal to get all my money back. I tried to be reasonable with them but they are just trying to do anything to not give me my money and fix a situation they made happen with their mistakes.
