Ordered online. Surprise surprise not in stock. Item widely available but they claim they cannot find it. I’ve found numerous other suppliers who can supply at a cheaper rate than materials market, yet materials market say they cannot find a supplier?!?! Terrible customer service. Bad business plan. They are desperate to cancel the order when they claim their “purchasing team are working on it”. The ball is in their court. This review is based on outcome to date. No delivered items. No attempt at resolution. False promises. This company will go bust eventually. Completely pointless if they are claiming they can’t find the items I’ve rung 3 other suppliers to trade today and they have it. For the record, they claim I gave permission to cancel the order. I did not. They forced the cancellation as they couldn’t secure the item at the rates THEY wanted. Suppliers are available for delivery.
The service and the price were very good. I was a bit disappointed that some of the wood was extremely wet and a couple of pieces were very warped.

I ordered some insulation on the 26th February. Thank you for placing Order 0345-12. Our staff are processing this now and in a short while you'll receive an order confirmation email with full order details, also said your payment card will only be charged once we have confirmed your order but took the money straight away? and said thank you for shopping with Materials Market. The materials was for a job to start on the 5th March and promised delivery for the 4th March, perfect?. On the 5th March they rang to say they were unable to supply the material, why I said it is readily available all over the UK. I know why, they were trying to negotiate at price with the supplier. The explanation given was unacceptable, especially when talking to a quantity surveyor who has been in the business for over 50 years. Phoned a local company who are going to deliver tomorrow 6th March, at a cheaper price. We will not be using this company again in the future, still waiting for my money to be returned.
