Poor service and experience. As other reviews, they don’t supply anything. They take your order and wait for a supply to accept it. We whilst this is happening, you wait, no one can help you, their hands are tied. How can you run a business when you don’t know if you will get your goods. Terrible. Never again, this company won’t last long if they continue this way.
From ordering to receiving materials was effortless, and fully informed all the way.
Avoid at all costs. They’ll let you choose a delivery date but it’s meaningless as they don’t even know if they have stock. I had to chase for them to tell me they weren’t delivering on the date I’d paid for, and didn’t know when they could. They then tried to get me to change the items in my order so they could still fulfil it. Customer service is rubbish and you’ll have no idea when or if you’ll get the stuff you order.
Awful experience. Order sat in processing for over a week with no delivery date or progress made since ordering. Customer services unable to offer any support and after multiple phone conversations made no difference to the progression at all. One role of membrane at £43 had a £50 delivery cost slapped on top. Worst experience I've had for a long time highly suggest not to use this company.
My local supplier was out of stock so I tried out Materials Market for the first time. Prices were fair, customer service was friendly and the goods were eventually of good quality. However:- - Delivery was meant to be between 7am and 4pm but did not arrive until the next day. - Some items arrived damaged so needed replacing. Again the replacement did not happen on the agreed day but a day later. Lots of wasted time, as delivery was to my daughter's address and I needed to wait unnecessarily. I suspect that the local supplier placed my order last on their route as I was not their direct customer. Please be aware of this possible issue if using Materials Direct and think twice if delivery on the agreed day is important to you.
Ordered some materials, the ton of sand never arrived… I was told it would be delivered asap. I turned up to the job FOUR WEEKS later & it still wasn’t there. Spoke to someone on the phone who said they would look into it & get back to me which they never did. I then spoke to someone else and asked for a refund for the sand as I had to go elsewhere to get my job completed, 7 days later still no refund. It’s only a ton of sand but the principle & knock on affect it had for me was much greater. My lad still had to be paid for wasted day, so did my fuel.
Easy to order, delivery on time, friendly and helpful delivery driver.
Placed an order and heard nothing. Phoned them on the due delivery day to be told that they didnt have a supplier to fulfil the order. Hold on they said, we're working on it. Foolishly I have them another two days only to contact them and be told the same thing. This company took a week to deliver nothing.
Terrible first time experience. Ordered some basic items - timber, sand and cement for delivery one week later. Delivery day arrived, and i'd heard nothing. So i rang for an ETA and they said they'd had supplier issues and it wasn't going to arrive today. No prior notice, nothing. They also couldn't give me an estimated future delivery date. I faithfully waited another 3 days for them to resolve the issues, then they eventually rang and said they'd have to refund the whole order. They refused to send a part order without me paying a further £20 for delivery. Considering their business was 'set up by two friends, who were frustrated by material not being delivered on time', they've done a terrible job of resolving this for their customers. I wouldn't have minded so much if they'd actually got in contact with me and apologised for the delay. A little communication would have gone a long way to help this issue. Unfortunately i won't be using again, nor recommending as a result.
Do not use this company. They do not have there own products to sell you the just wait for other suppliers to take the quote. They advertise delivery times and dates that they know they will not be able to honour as they don't even hold the stock. Poorly organised and run company I will be reporting to trading standards for all the false advertising.
I bought 3 orders from this company, failed to deliver to me twice! The first one refunded me in full after a length chase, the second one deducted £24 from the refund with no reason provided, emailed them couple days of later, no response! They are obviously cheap (slightly) for a reason: not reliable, 70% chance you don't get order delivered, and if without full refund, in the end you are losing money (consider a few pound you might be saving compares to your local trader), not to mention missed project schedule etc. In my over 20 years of building projects, this company has to be the worst I encountered, I will never never use it again.
Price was good and delivery on time
Ive ordered Pir insulation 110mm , payment already take it and delivery confirmation , but I didn't receive my stuff , after call to them I received information they cant provide me materials . I waste my time a money because I will have delays on my job depend you Materials Market
Similar experience to some other people on here. Ordered some building materials in advance and was told it would arrive a few days later. I had to call them on the day of the delivery, 10 mins before the apparent end delivery time only to be told "the supplier has messed up, it's going to be Monday". Refund takes 10 days to arrive in your account, and a request to speak to a manager never happens. Had to pay for plant hire and builders despite no work getting done because of their failed order, plus I get to wait almost a week to get my money back due to "bank processes". They take your money instantly but need over a week to give it back to you. Utter joke
