Right cost, great delivery.
Website easy to navigate and options a plenty with decent prices. Slight delay on order confirmation due to Materials Market sourcing supplier for items required. Unfortunately this was unsuccessful but an alternative was communicated and sorted. Customer support communications was very good esp. after a slight mishap with QTY of delivery but the driver was very helpful, friendly and supportive. Had everything sorted and delivered within the hour. Quality of the product is very good on first impressions. Would use again but be ready to maybe contact their customer service for confirmation if not heard anything after the first day or two as they use a supplier chain. Further update: Product is very good and sturdy. Would recommend and I will likely use again for other projects! Very Satisfied with customer service and communication - 20/05/24
Utter failure to fulfill the order. Very simple order (4x2” timber and a dozen concrete blocks - not weapons-grade plutonium!!) ordered on Thursday for delivery Tuesday. No confirmation email, so I phoned. Nope, unlikely to be delivered today, but would call me back. No returned call, co I phoned again. Nope, not tomorrow either. Just received an email to say “unable to fulfill the order due to the unavailability of stock”. Would have been useful to know before I took time off my day job for the delivery and could have ordered from somewhere else. Do not believe the hype - useless.
Delivered a day earlier than expected great service.
I needed at least 200 concrete blocks (440mm x 100mm) and had previously bought from Tradepoint after shopping around. This time they were £2.70 each, with no discount for a pallet of 72. The price for 3 pallets or 216 blocks was £583.20 including delivery, and with my Tradepoint 10% discount was £524.88. Long story short, further shopping brought me to Materials Market, and the price of 3 pallets of 72 was £361.40 delivered. After checking out the reviews here it was a mixed bag but overwhelming positive, and everyone who didn’t get what they wanted seemed to get pretty quick refunds so from my point of view there was very little risk in ordering and a big gain price wise. Ordered on the Tuesday with a delivery date of Friday, and received confirmation of the order but not the delivery date. It was stated that there’d be a phone call before the delivery which I didn’t get, but the delivery was made on Friday morning as originally indicated. Fortunately I’d already made room for the delivery and my wife was at home to confirm where to drop off, but if I’d assumed the delivery was delayed because of no phone call I might not have cleared the space or might have left one if my vans parked there. I mention this not as a complaint, but to advise any customer to assume their order is going to be delivered at the time indicted when ordering even if there’s no phone call. Personally I’m delighted with the saving and the delivery, and will be ordering more products/materials from them as this job progresses, hence the 5 star review.
I do not recommend. I placed an order online. After finishing, I received an automatic e-mail informing me that someone would contact me soon to confirm my order. (When placing the order, I received information about delivery in 4 days.) When after 3 days I still did not receive any e-mail, I wrote to the company about my order. On the day when I was supposed to have the delivery, I found out that my order would be canceled and the money would be refunded because they could not fulfill the order (I ordered sand and cement). It's a pity that I didn't receive such information earlier, I would have been able to order the goods from another company and still receive them before the weekend where the work was planned.
Fast delivery, item as described, good delivery driver.
I got what I wanted and a reasonable price. However the delivery instructions were not passed on, so the delivery driver had issues driving down a narrow lane.
Awful customers service. Don't believe the hype they spout when you are on hold on the phone, quote that the owners started the business because they were frustrated trying to get companies deliver on time, well I'm frustrated so I guess they have failed . I ordered some plasterboard well in advance, called day before to check on a rought ETA only to be told they were not coming. No communication from them whatsoever ever to tell me my order wasn't coming, didn't call me back and when asked to speak to a manager they didn't call me back either which has left me scrambling around trying to find products from elsewhere. I WOULD AVOID !!!

I rang on deivery day morning to see if they could narrow the vague delivery time.They rang me back to tell me it would be after 4 pm and allowed me to make use of the rest of the day.

I really should have read the reviews! This is the first time I purchased with Materials Market The ordering process was easy and confirmation of my order there were no issue. On the day of delivery, I was messaged to call back Alsford regarding my delivery, however driver did not pick up, I later called back Materials Market who said they would look into my delivery but then didn't call back, when I called again, I was told the delivery warehouse has closed, and they would follow up the next day. The next day, I did get a call, and shockingly the response was my order was delivered, which it had not. After some heated exchange, I received confirmation that my order was not delivered and it will be delivered later in the day. So, despite the lack of communication between Materials Market and third party purchase/delivery. I can say the staff at Materials Market were apologetic, and did attempt to follow up with my order. However, the stress of receiving this order and also wasting a day for delivery, I was more fortunate then other customers, at least I got my order eventually.
Hiccup with order, was sorted out by the team beforehand, was so helpful and very professional. Delivered by very friendly and helpful driver. All in all, from start to finish, excellent service! Highly recommend.
Placed an order, all seemed fine. Expected delivery date came and I had not heard from the company so I reached out. I was then told they could not source my order and asked how long I could wait to have the order fulfilled. I asked about getting similar materials to replace what I ordered but they never actually gave me options, even though they thanked me for being flexible. I chased up a few more times then gave up, refund is on the way. A waste of time and poor service, I won't be using again.
Good price, very efficient, prompt early delivery. Have made two recent orders.
Not happy, the day before my delivery I received a phone telling me they couldn’t source my timber. I had to compromise with the sizing, not good for project I was preparing for. If you can not source materials DONT advertise it. The delivery was two days late with product that was too short.
The blocks were delivered quickly and of high quality.
