My wife signed us up for service at Sams on Fuqua in Houston (Sunday 2/6/22) around 10am, after reading all these bad reviews, I called to the “VIP number “ given , they are closed on Sunday and followed that up immediately with an email to cancel the service at 1pm . According to the attachments that were sent, I have 3 Federal days to cancel. This is all very disheartening to read, knowing that Sams Club allows this to happen in their store. I will be posting an update as soon as I get a response. UPDATE 3/21/22 We were able to get our contract canceled , But i still feel bad for all the others who had difficulties with Just Energy. We all work hard for our money and we don't need others trying to take it away , if any Energy company is offering a rate , just give that low rate without the need of a "credit" to make it out come out to what you originally promised. No double talk just be straight.
Scammers, predatory sales people and tactics. They should be shut down
I’m only giving a 1 because there are no negative numbers to give. I too, like many other reviewers was scammed at Sams club. I was told my bill would be the same and I just got a bill for $524. I am beyond livid! I was told my gas bill was $87 and Just Energy charged me $140 in one month. I am making sure my friends and family don’t use them. I was told I could cancel but it would take 2 billing cycles. This needs to be resolved ASAP because I will be taking matters further because this is completely BS!!!!!!!
DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM! I was scammed into signing up at Sam's club. The rep - Carlos Vasquez Ruiz 2007054 - made it seem like a great deal and assured me I was not signing up for anything yet, merely providing information to then sign up. I should have read more carefully, as I had indeed signed a contract. Upon reading reviews and comparing to my electric bills (I noticed my current rates are much lower than what was being offered), I called to rescind the contract. I spoke with Juan 75474 who put me on hold 2 separate times and tried to convince me to keep my contract with better rates (still hight than my current rates). I was insistent that he cancel. He told me he put the cancellation through and I would receive an email in a few days. He would not provide me with a confirmation number. I have email 2 different customer service emails asking to confirm the cancellation and have also reached out to my current energy company to ensure they do not stop or switch my service. I am ready to have to hound these people to cancel, but I regret being so thoughtless. The reps at Sam's club are poachers and should not be allowed there. I will be complaining to my local Sam's club and relaying my story.
DO NOT SWITCH TO THIS COMPANY! We were scammed into switching and our rates when up three fold. When we tried to cancel, they allowed us to but said it will not happen for another 2 billing cycles, so we are stuck paying a ridiculous rate, 3 times the rate we were paying before for the next 2 months. DO NOT SWITCH TO THIS COMPANY!!!!
I would stay away from this company it's a fraud the lure you in with a gift card that you don't get and than my electric bill went up 200 dollars it was so much that I plan on talking to a lawyer this company needs shutdown !!
Was told my bill would go up by most $10. Woke up today to $100 higher gas bill. Had to fight like hell to cancel. Avoid at ALL costs.
This is an absolute scam, my bill has gone up over 100 dollars and I can not get anyone on the phone to cancel the account. Do not fall for this bull crap. Sam’s club should be sued for allowing such dishonest practices.
Signed up for this service yesterday (02/04/22) at Sams based on information shared by Chris Corporandy, Just Energy salesman. Once I spotted your reviews I sent you an email within a few minutes to cancel this service. Since this is a brand new sign up, for now, I am leaving you with a neutral 3-star: the premise being you have delivered nothing, good or bad. Just cancel this contract immediately.
Like everyone else, I got scammed at Sams club. I will be pursuing litigation on the matter, so I'll keep it simple. After all their B.S. promises, I received my bill this month with an ADDITIONAL 260 dollars on it. Called to rip them one and cancel and claimed my service would take an additional 2 months to cancel. Update: A representative, called and apologized for me being misled, and have promised me a full refund of money that this has or will cost me, I feel this was the proper action and appropriate by the company. Customer service is a big deal and if this company can work for you, then I wouldn't reject them. Customer service deserves 4 starts. Would be five had it been corrected with my original call. I'll update when correction is complete.
I signed up for this program at local same club. The Just energy representative told me the current rate will be the same but the energy provider fee that my current energy provider charging me for not having an alternate energy provider will be waived and I am going to get Sams club gift card. However, my current gas rate has increased from $4.28 to $7.19. This is outrageous, this is fraud and scam. I am going to talk to Sam's Club today for allowing this company to have desk in their warehouse for misleading customer like me.
I was shopping at Sam's Club on January 15, 2022. I had limited time but a representative from Just Energy enticed me with the promise of free gift cards. She did explain that they were affiliated with Sam's Club and Sam's Club would be sending the gift cards as the Just Energy representatives didn't physically have them due to COVID-19 protocol. The rep asked if I had energy provided by either DTE or Consumers Energy and I replied as appropriate. She asked me to pull up my bill so that she could start the documentation. I cautiously asked if I would have to make any changes to my account in order to get the gift cards to which she simply stated "no". I asked what exactly Just Energy is and offered that my family had issues with "alternate energy providers" on two previous occasions. The rep asked what precisely these providers had promised. I told her they came as door-to-door representatives promising that the bill would be lower since the energy they provided would be at a lower rate; the bills were higher than expected in both instances. The Just Energy rep countered that they don't "lower rates" but instead provided energy at a similar rate to my current energy provider but eliminated a "fee" that my current energy provider supposedly charges for not having an alternate energy provider. To me, it seemed like this was stated in an attempt to set themselves apart from my prior experiences. At that point, the documentation had been texted to my phone and the rep stated that my signature on said form was just to affirm that I was 18 years or older of age. The rep physically put her fingers on my phone to scroll down on the form to where I was supposed to sign. This is concerning because we are in a global pandemic and who knows who she might expose to COVID-19 handling customers' devices. The form seemed more explicit than just a signature affirming that I was of age and I glimpsed what looked like rates. Obviously, I began to read carefully instead of signing immediately. The rep noticed but didn't address that I was reading carefully. Instead, she tried to urge me to sign the form. I calmly let the rep know that I was reading carefully because it seemed like I was signing more than just a declaration of my age. The rep seemed to become defensive and asked why I was hesitant to sign. I reminded the rep about my prior experiences with "alternate energy providers". The rep then offered that there was an initial trial period of 30 days and I could cancel in that time. Upon reading other reviews on Trust Pilot, I am now aware that Just Energy may have made it difficult to cancel at all and/or I might have been charged an early cancellation fee if I had signed that document. I informed the rep that I was actually on limited time and I would have to move along but that I was still interested and I would read/sign the document on my own time. The rep turned around, visibly annoyed, and said "I guess you don't want your free gift cards." I was trying to explain myself calmly once more but she rudely blurted "Ok. Thanks. Bye."
Just energy sign up was a scam, they lured us to sign up for the electric /gas contract, stating that there is no commitment, and also said you can cancel any time, but failed to disclose that there is an early termination fee which can only be cancelled if you call by phone, and their phone service doesnt work stating that due to COVID-19, they want you to contact them using the portal, which means that the customer is screwed, as you have to cancel contract by phone otherwise they can charge you a termination fee; this is malpractice/shady consumer tactics, grow up Just energy, if this is the way you keep harassing customers , you will never get any Business, I plan on putting this review on BBB and other reputable consumer complaint boards.
Signed up telling them I would be moving in a couple of months.they told me they would wave the early termination fee IF they didn't offer service in my new area.I moved to silsbee tx where the only provider is ENTERGY I paid my final bill less the 175$ early termination fee. Now I'm being harassed by collections and have filed a bbb complaint
I was approached by a sales rep in Sam's Club, in Catonsville, MD on 12/30/21. After asking a few questions, I decided it was not for me at this time. I declined and thanked the young lady for her time. She proceeded to follow behind me for several paces asking multiple questions which I did not answer. As I continued to shop she said, "I hope your New Year is better than you!" I did not expect to be insulted as I shopped for groceries, and am taken aback. I will never do business with such a company! I used to be a telemarketer when I was younger, so I know how unkind people can be, which is why I attempt to always show patience and grace. The insult was unwarranted, unprovoked, and unprofessional. Update: I am raising my rating to a 3 because Manager Conner called me to resolve the matter, and shared that he would coach Brittany (rep) away from such tactics.
I activated an account and switched to Just Energy on November 18th. Come to find out a month later, they never activated my account! They also autosigned me up for some BS Terrapass carbon offset scam and have been billing me for that! I have been stuck at variable rate(15cents/kwh) for a month because Just Energy is incompetent. Please pick another provider.
Rip Off - The plan was thru Sams club - almost double the rate (0.18C/Unit) - Called customer service to switch plans - to go to a lower rate plan - they tried to teach me 0.18c/unit is cheaper than 0.14c/unit, and helped in making my decision to move out
We're currently switching companies. I was appalled to receive a collection letter threat from them when I knew I had paid the account. The next bill arrived and I checked the dates. The payment was made the day the cycle started. It was Friday, so might have processed 2 days later, but there is no excuse-especially when so many people are struggling-to threaten customers of several years who have paid faithfully every month when the payment is maximum 2 days late. I was so disgusted, they made no attempt to call and inquire, the first thing they did was send us threats. Disgusting.
Conor is who signed my mother up for electric. He was AMAZING!!! He is the "BEST" salesman I have ever come across in all my 30years of growing up! He is a fine young man that could sell a pinto as if it were a Cadillac ( and you would buy it!) This company will shoot high with Conor working for them!
I've been with J E about five months now. Have NEVER received a bill from them during this time. Not even an ebill. However, they do tend to send out both mail and email for overdue and collection every month! So I called the Texas Attorney General office and found out this is part of the AG office investigation. JE is doing this to all their customers. It's not a "fee" per say, but they have not been billing their customers at all, until its overdue. Then they send you a bill plus overdue fees. I see a class action lawsuit JE! Better straighten your act up...people are tired of this!!! Oh, to be fair I have never been late on any bill for the last 13 years! My electric bill for this address has always been about $10 (remodeling project). Will be writing more bad reviews, talking with the BBB and Consumer advocates. UPDATE: Lily from JE did contact me same day as this post. We will have to see if she upholds her values for the company. Lily did state that these would be corrected and that any "fees" would be returned on my next billing cycle.
