Disgusting! It’s like having someone just charging you for fresh air, They charge for “inspection charges” no ones ever seen them. They charge for “fence repairs” this is lies I have had to repair the fences myself. How is this allowed? I have not paid for 5 years and I will continue not paying for two reasons “they aren’t charging me for my title deeds” which the contract clearly says they must do! They bill me for green areas that aren’t even on our estate!!!! This is maintained by Doncaster Council. Also they aren’t carrying out any work they claim they are doing. Tell you what greenbelt why don’t you add on McDonald fees also for your hungry staff who send out threatening letters? Oh I’m still waiting for my court date that you said you were proceeding to carry out from three years ago. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I have been a customer of theirs for over three years and it’s the most expensive worst factoring service I have ever experienced. I was told the next bill would contain a refund for work not done during lockdown but as expected this did not happen which in my view does not make them very trustworthy.

An appalling company to deal with. Overcharge at every opportunity. Charge for work NOT carried out. Send threatening letters to those who choose not to pay their exorbitant fees. Would love have them removed from being in charge of the maintenance of the green areas. Stay clear of them if you can. Unfortunately a ZERO star rating is not an option.

Greenbelt provides a long generic list of work supposedly being carried out, which the area is being charged for. A lot of the work is not being carried out. The charges in our area are a lot higher than this type of agreements normally are.

Greenbelt is an absolute disgrace! Our estate looks like tip and what we are charged annually cannot remotely be justified. They should get Zero, not even 1 star!

Appalling company!! They get around £800 a month from our Eastate of 34 houses. We sometimes see them every other Friday, they leave us as their last job “it’s small and they get away quickly” quoted by staff!!!! They have been known to fly tip the garden waste in a small enclosure where children play! They leave after cutting a small area of grass, sit in their van, eat, smoke, drink and leave! You email them and don’t get a reply, you call them and staff are extremely rude!! How to get out of this horrendous company? PO80DE

On our estate in Barnsley they do the minimum work needed to be able to charge high service costs, and during the pandemic we've not seen them once. And if someone from off the estate dumps some rubbish they charge through the roof to remove it. They also double-charge for everything with their "inspections" of the little work they have done. The law needs to change to ban these kinds of companies and what they can get away with

Crooks! Even with lockdown we didn’t get the discount for the work not being done! Tbh it’s not done every other year! They are meant to look after the trees behind my house but they haven’t been near in the 13 years I’ve lived here! They must get a proper laugh taking our money each month and doing the very minimum in return! And don’t bother wasting your time contacting them, they don’t reply or fob you off with ‘nesting season’ type excuses. Must be nesting season all year round!

I've finally got my title deeds from my solictor - only took 8 months! I've now discovered Greenbelt are embedded in my deeds, noone from Barratts or my solicitors Core Legal in Stockton made me aware this would be the case or I never would of bought my home. I was told i'd pay £65.77 a year to Greenbelt which I don't have an issue with but completely object to them having control over MY PROPERTY which is supposed to be FREEHOLD - i.e. FREE FROM HOLD!!! I'll be taking it further

I think all the reviews below speak for themselves.....not much to add..... except, been working from home since March and have witnessed the grass cut twice....and nothing else.....this years bill is the highest since moving here ten years ago. Vague unaccountable billing, this company needs investigating.....COVID has affected us all....I don’t believe that green belt has been able to operate 100% (and above, to justify the increase) over the last 6 months like the majority of businesses in the uk. Unregulated, untrustworthy and faceless company.

This is what Greenbelt claim to provide. Bespoke Open Space Management Greenbelt's bespoke year-round rolling maintenance programme is designed to enhance the landscape and maximise the amenity value of public open spaces, through applied best horticultural and managerial practices. With tailored seasonal maintenance works and regular professional supervisory inspections, Greenbelt brings experience, accountability and value for money to the stewardship of your local public open space. They don't even come close, I pay £432.77 a year and the shrubs outside my lounge window are so high that you have to stand up to stand any chance of seeing outside. If your thinking of buying a new property always run away if Greenbelt is involved in the open spaces on the site. Absolute daylight robbery.

I have to award 1 star, but the reality is that I would award 0 stars if I could. I am charged £160 a year for nothing. I have my own front & back garden that I maintain. There are very few communal areas in my estate that greenbelt supposedly maintain. If you call spending 5 minutes cutting grass a few times a year maintenance, what are we actually being charged for? They have caused severe damage to my garden & several of my neighbours gardens thanks to their lack of management re drainage & planted area at the back of our houses. Complaining gets you nowhere with these crooks! Yet if we default on payments, we are threatened with court action

These are absolute cowboys. They claim to do work and do not do it. There's a grass verge near me that is meant to be maintained by GreenBelt, yet it is overgrown with weeds, most over 4ft high. There is litter everywhere and the grass hasn't been cut in a very long time. They are billing residents for this work as well as supplementing it with "supervisor visits" fees, and the most frightening thing is that they can get away with it (and are), they can charge whatever they want, there's no accountability whatsoever, no regulation whatsoever, they can add on surcharges and penalties, prevent you from selling your house and destroy your credit rating. Customer service is hostile and aggressive, and why shouldn't they be when it's not possible to take your custom elsewhere? A dreadful company that are pretty much above the law and they know it!

DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP AND BECOME INVOLVED WITH THIS COMPANY! The continued ignorance (or is it incompetence?)of this company is astounding! My deeds (a legal document) clearly shows the definition, and area,of the ‘amenity areas’ of the estate I live on. Yet Greenbelt are continuing to send out bills for areas not shown on my deeds despite it being brought to their attention on numerous occasions. If I were to pay it would be like paying for maintenance on an estate hundreds of miles away, who in the right mind would do that?? My solicitor has advised me that if it’s not on my deeds why would you pay for it as you are not liable?. I have also reported Greenbelt to the Police for harassment because of the continued demands for money for something outside of my deeds, something of which I have an incident number for. I haven’t paid for well over 3 years now and their threatening letters have finally stopped after I pointed out that their demands, and consequences if they are not met would be in breach of GDPR as my mortgage company have told me they are not allowed to disclose information to Greenbelt without my written permission (Greenbelt, you ain’t got a hope in hell of me giving that to the likes of you!) They promise things and then deny it. Their fees go up yearly, again outside of what it is stated in my deeds of the maximum permitted increase. They charged us all for mole removal fees (no one had moles). They charge us for supervisor visits (where is this proof) our estate is a complete dump especially the dyke there’s no water left due to all of the weeds that have now taken over. You charge extra for fence maintenance (where is this maintenance there is no fence on the area shown on my deeds) Greenbelt think they have a license to charge us all for work that no one has seen proof of?! They bill for a woodland inspection report then do not follow up on the required work in the report as I got hold of consecutive years reports. In the first one it said a specific tree needed felling and stacking within 6 months. The following year’s report still showed the specific tree and recommended the same action. The reports are from 5 & 6 years ago yet the tree is still in situ!. The sooner this business is regulated the better as this company will swiftly be brought into line and stop acting in a manner which causes resentment and anger. On a final note for Greenbelt, please don’t reply on here asking for me to contact you as I have done on numerous occasions and you have failed to address this matter and bring it in line with the covenants in my deeds which I will remind you again is a legal document!

Let me start. Hedging not replaced when dead, fences not replaced when broken, exposed concrete holding down benches covered in soft tar now breaking up, weeds ripped out not dug out, edging of grass non existent, cutting of bushes and left overs chucked back in without removing from site. It's a sham that all new builds sites are going this route. House builders easy way out. Sell for a pound and they wash their hands of it. It should be regulated by law. What's despicable is we pay to maintain their land.....

Dreadful company that unfortunately we got lumbered with when we bought from Redrow. On renewal of our yearly bill, we found that the increase had been over 20% and there’s nothing we can do about it. There is questionable charges on the statement, nearly £130 pounds for an inspection!!!! They make sure to do a regular number of these throughout the year! If you’re considering a new build and greenbelt are the maintenance contractor....walk away!!

I think the 2 ‘ringer’ reviews below show the levels GB will stoop to. Worse company I’ve ever ‘tried’ to deal with absolute jokers. Complete racketeering delivering minimal poor service with no concept of customer service at all. If they had to operate in a commercial world where customers retention was not just handed over to them from a developer they would not last 2min.
