I bought the FM6DD-MUL specifically for mulching leafy Green hawthorn hedge clippings being advised this model rather than just the shredder version. The build quality is good (though I think there is a Chinese input here?), the engine started first time but needs full choke even when starting from hot. The 2 stars reflect it’s performance when mulching: the discharge chute continually blocks as it is too close to the ground & not helped by the tapered outlet which is too small. The machine has be constantly moved to clear the mulch build-up. Both guards need to be removed from feed drum because there is virtually no self feed action which means continually prodding the small amount of clippings it will accept at a time. You have to work hard at mulching even a small quantity of clippings. I already have a FM log splitter which is absolutely brilliant but I would not recommend this model for mulching. An expensive mistake.

Wonderful meraviglioso

I purchased my FM4DDE chipper direct from Forest Master (FM) after spending a considerable amount of time researching different manufacturers products. I decided to go with Forest Master for three specific reasons. The first was based on largely excellent customer service feedback from other customer experiences. The second reason was watching YouTube videos on how well the unit appeared to perform. The third reason was being able to access the online user manual for my unit and seeing the complete parts breakdown. This gave me real confidence that should spares parts be required they could be supplied by Forest Master. I have now received my unit and used it extensively. I can honestly say that I feel I have made the right choice of manufacturer and the correct unit for my needs. An additional thought for anyone considering purchasing one of Forest Master's chippers is do think about buying a set of spare blades AND the recommended blade bolt removal socket. An ordinary socket will almost certainly round off the bolt corners. I used an electric impact driver with the special socket which resulted in an extremely easy, and satisfying, process to turn the two double sided blades around, or replace them. Essential for keeping your chipper performing at it's best. Based on all of the above I can wholeheartedly recommend Forest Master as a worthy company to do business with. I hope this personal review helps others with their purchasing decision.

I have purchased a number of items from Forest Master, who have become my go to company for log related products. They offer a number of useful products at very competitive prices. They offer a great next day delivery service, as well as an excellent after sales support service. My latest purchase was a stand for a recently purchased log splitter. Jordan provided an excellent service and was able to offer me the stand at a very generous discount. A very slight niggle is with the product assembly instructions, which I have sometimes found to have omissions or to be in the wrong order. Bought a log-splitter - without the trolley. Log splitter arrived next day. I assembled it. It worked perfectly -but - Anno Domini is taking its toll and I was bencing too much. I called Forest-Master and as I had just bought the log-splitter they gave me a VERY generous discount for the trolley. It too arrived the next day. It was a friendly conversation too. My aching back aches no longer. Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

Prompt delivery. Very easy to use. Managed to bend the work bench in the first hour though - not heavy duty. The two blades could meet a little closer too as quite a few logs did not thoroughly split through so finished them by hand. Got through a lot of logs in a relatively short time.

First of all, excellent delivery - bought online Tuesday evening, arrived Thursday at lunchtime. I had read all the other reviews before buying this and can now say it really is a great purchase. Took two of us about an hour to assemble, some bits are fiddly and it's definitely easier with two people. After reading the comments about filling the oil, we used a funnel and tipped it backwards, made it much easier. Started on the first pull, ran really smoothly. We used it all day yesterday - stopping occasionally for a cup of tea - it was awesome! As long as you have prepped the branches and don't ram too much through in one go, it keeps shredding perfectly. It you get a blockage, it's incredibly easy to fix. It also feels very safe to use, there is no way you can injure yourself with this chipper. I've been looking at chippers on eBay for ages thinking we couldn't afford a decent one, but I really do feel this is good value for money and perfect for any size garden. Its compact size means you can lend it to someone, it's would easily go in the back of the car. We've now made loads of fine wood chippings which we can add to the compost over the summer or use as mulch. If you're thinking of buying one, just go for it, you won't regret it.

My Forest Master chipper was delivered to me in under 24 hours from placing the order. I ordered on line in the evening and received the item by early afternoon the following day. The product is well designed and of robust construction. The operating and assembly instructions are clear and I found the assembly quick and straightforward. I am confident that this product will have long operating life.

It really was a pleasure to deal with Forest Master. From my initial phone contact with them through to the return of my log splitter, they were knowledgeable, extremely helpful and polite. Charges were reasonable and I cannot fault anything.

Given their apparent good reputation, I’ve been looking to buy a wood chipper from Forest Master since last November. At the time I was told they would be back in stock in February. In March I was told it would be May. Now I’m told it will be August. I can’t say I have much faith in what they say any more. Time to buy from someone else, I think.

This is the first Log Splitter I have owned and it's early days yet but so far it works very good. It's easy to use with clear instructions. The minor gripe I have was with the delivery, I ordered it late Wednesday and Friday early, a parcel arrived but it was only the guard and because it was Bank Holiday, I had to wait till Tuesday for the Log Splitter to arrive. So far am very pleased with my purchase {Should have bought one years ago}.

Delivered very quickly. Given it's value, would have preferred NOT to have it left at our front door for all to see!

Very bad. Before buying I ask if there are any problems with the availability of the object or with the shipment to my country. The answer was that the order is processed within the day. I place the order and, only later, they tell me there are problems with the shipping to my country. I write a reply email where I ask to be more precise and no one replies. It's been 8 days and I don't know anything about my order. I will wait a few more days and then open a dispute on Paypal. No seriousness, but the money is taken immediately.
