Excellent service needed advice on a FM16 log splitter. Emailed on Saturday evening got reply back on Sunday morning. Very helpful advice and great service.
I ordered a capacitor, based on a photo on the website. They sent a difference size, but when informed of this, they send me the correct one as soon as it came into stock (2 days later), on 24 hour delivery. Excellent service.
Beautiful woodchipper, worked like a dream until you have a problem. Then Arrow Corporation - Newcastle upon Tyne trading as Forrestmaster lets you down badly. Our chipper was delivered in record time. As it was summer we did not need to use it until the Autumn when the blades came loose and jammed the motor. This was quickly replaced and worked OK for the rest of the season. We live in a suburban area with a garden, so its not that big, with no mature trees to chip at all, just shrubs. The blades needed replacing so as I ordered them days after the initial order for the chipper I did not have any worries until I needed to replace the blades, nothing would fit the bolts, only their special tool. I ordered one. It was not in stock but they promised to notify me as soon as it was available. I chased many time over months, always the answer was the same 'None in stock'. Eventually I ordered again and surprise surprise it arrived within days. Soon sorted. The motor started turning off, whether free running or chipping. Pressing the start button continually it started. Eventually it would not start at all. When the 2 year guarantee ran out by a few weeks, Arrow did not want to know.
Ordered a FM6DDES petrol wood chipper on Friday and it was delivered on Monday fully assembled which was worth the extra money. I have just used the machine and it seems like a great piece of kit easily shredding what I put into it - a great value machine I think. The communication re delivery was great and the ordering process easy. First rate and a very happy customer - thank you
A lot of people are quick to complain about bad service, but often do not give praise where due. I bought a log splitter from Forest Master just over a year ago, and after quite a bit of use had a problem with one of the side supports. I contacted Forest Master through ebay (where I had bought it from) and replied straightaway, I explained the problem, sent them a couple of pictures, within a couple of hours they replied to me saying they were sending a replacement part which came today (next day delivery) what a brilliant service. I cannot recommend them enough how a firm should be run, and all credit to them, will use them again for any thing in their range I might need.
I had a problem with a machine (possibly of my making) which I had bought online via a retailer. Mike from Forest Master was very helpful/responsive and we resolved the issue without any hassle or fuss. Their after sales is excellent and they genuinely wanted to resolve the issue - so all is now well.
Ordered a part for my vertical log splitter in the afternoon and received it the following morning. No charge. First class customer service
The website was easy to navigate and order parts required. However to date (6 days since ordering) I have not yet received my item despite their next day delivery promise to UK mainland. FM said they would look into the delay but just quoted a load of post codes in Scotland which is when I last looked part of the UK mainland. OK so I live near Aberdeen which is only 300 miles from Durham (depot) up the duel carriageway and I have to pay £30 surcharge for delivery plus a time penalty whereas a delivery to Cornwall is free next day, which is 450 miles away from depot. Not looking good is it? I would expect that most forestry operations take place in Scotland so Forest Master have missed the boat here due to their delivery model. A lot of people go elsewhere for a free delivery option to avoid this excess delivery charge to Scotland. Forest Master should change their attitude to this and maybe also their couriers and they will possibly get more customers from north of the border. Once the order arrived in good condition, I put it to work immediately - A great piece of kit! Made light work of the pine logs.
Having been using, and abusing by overwork, one of the Forest Master electro-hydraulic log splitters for many years I can vouch for the robustness of the equipment that they sell which is why I have just bought more equipment from them. Prices remain extremely competitive for the quality that you get. Telephone customer service has also been a high point. Telephones are answered quickly and when a call back is promised it happens exactly when stated. It also doesn’t seem to matter who you get on the telephone, the high standard is the same, whether it is for buying or a technical question. For the most recent purchase there was a problem with delivery caused by the delivery company. Like many delivery companies, it was impossible to speak to a human and all that you could get was a useless “chat” option talking to a machine. A quick call to Forest Master was all that was needed. Problem fixed and the equipment arrived the next day with them continuing to monitor the courier to ensure that it did arrive. I wish that all companies had this level of customer service.
I had a woodchipper delivered, but unfortunately had my van stolen two days later, and changed my mind about keeping the equipment. Forest Master was fantastic in understanding my situation arranging for the pick up of the machine and, as I didn't even had the chance to assemble it, refund me as soon as they got it back. The staff, and a special thanks to Donna, were all very kind and answering my email promptly. I can only say a big thank you for the excellent customer service.
I Brought the 8 Ton log splitter never had one because it’s absolutely brilliant cut through my oak wood like butter I wood highly recommend it also the customer service was excellent too and delivered on time . Thank you Anthony
This company is excellent Service is second to none Purchased a log splitter arrived with broken wheel which was not their fault emailed to order replacement and was told delivery would probably be the next day Have brought a few items and the after sales team are brilliant nothing is to much trouble
The problem with the Forest Master chippers is that they can only cope with 'green' wood, ie that has been cut within the last few days. After that the chipper tries to chip the wood into dust and blocks up in no time flat. Fastenings are not a single component but washer, split washer and nut - not ideal when you are out in the field - take a sheet to put it on so you don't loose anything. Some other chippers of similar power don't have this issue suggesting a design issue with the Forest Master chipper - so preferably look elsewhere if the wood to chip is more than a few days old!!.
Recieved my 8 ton log splitter this morning and I am amazed how powerful this beast is; it split a pallet load of hardwood logs within a couple of hours, some of which very knotty. Build quality appears very robust and well thought out, I am sure it will serve me well for many years. I had a small issue whereby courier only delivered 1 of 2 boxes, I recieved the gaurd but no log splitter; a quick call to Forrest Master and Donna was straight onto courier, she kept me upto date throughout and I recieved it first thing this morning. I am very please with my purchase, even better knowing I supported a British company. Chris from Bebington..
Who at Forest Master thinks it is OK to reserve a payment for a failed transaction (they rejected an invalid postcode) and when the transaction is repeated do the same again four times, the last being successful). I couldn't access nearly £1000 and had failed standing orders because of this. When I called I was blamed because I put the wrong postcode and that I would have to wait till it filtered trough the system. Having had a reply they continue to blame me for inadequacies in their system i.e. they lock the money before checking the details and that they lock the mony several times in one order. As a retired systems professional I find the extremely poor design shocking.
This is good equipment, there is a drawback, they say it takes up to 3” (60mm approx) logs, however, they give you a plate to mount in the feed funnel which means you can only put the same size branches through that a normal little garden shredder will take. This was no good to me, I needed this machine to work to almost max’ capacity. So, against what the company supplies, I left this plate out, made some modifications and the machine works relatively well. I would say a maximum of 50mm branches is more realist, avoiding the leaves on the branches as much as possible, these things block regularly if you put too much green through them. So much so that I have made even more modifications. So no.1: first thing is make your own ‘branch feeder’ Like I did, with a large piece of timber the right length to push on, but won’t touch the blades at the bottom. To this I screwed a handle on the top to assist with ease of use. 2: weld washers onto the top of the bolts (in wing it form) to make the feed funnel and exit tube easy to access for blockages. ( you’ll see what I mean after clearing blockages for the 10th time! 3: avoid greenery going through. 4: when blades are not working well, unbolt them and turn them around to use other side. 5: keep it clean and clear and it’ll serve you well.
I have a small electric wood chipper. I have had a number of problems with it including a sheared bolt on the blades on the rotating drum. The support I have received from the customer facing team was excellent. They have always responded promptly to enquiries and requests for help and they have even repaired the sheared bolt at no charge even though it was just out of warranty.
After payment and promptly receiving the item the next day ( very impressed) things have somewhat gone downhill. I ordered the FM10TW-7-TC log splitter only to find that 2 Allen Head bolts & 2 split pins needed for assembly were missing but it doesn't stop there as I was also supplied with the incorrect stand having ordered the trolley stand with front wheels I received instead the stand with the front base plate that has no front wheels. Called Forest Master (technical department) to inform them of these errors at 11.55am on the 19/05/22 giving them plenty of time to get the parts out and was assured the parts needed along with the stand wheels would be sent out that very same day and I would receive them the next day. It is now the 21st two days latter and no parts. Also some of the welds to the stand are abysmal porosity, untidy beads, spatter and stray arc marks (photographs can be supplied) ,do you not have a QA department. That being said I cannot comment on the actual machine in operation due to the said missing items.
Great log splitter but the optional table / guard I received had clearly been a customer return. The table was damaged and had to be repaired before it would fit, the bag of screws had already been opened and screws were loose in the box spilling onto the garden. When you pay for a new product new is what you expect.
This business is the epitome of how all businesses should be. Excellent products, great response and service, quick delivery and fair prices. I purchased the "Mitre Saw Stand Workbench with Roller Supports" and I am swept away by the robust quality and the swift delivery I received. I had one question which was answered promptly and I am very pleased that I made the right choice. Compared with other similar products this stand is head and shoulders above anything else in the price bracket. I fully intend to Purchase 2 additional mitre saw clamps for mounting other tools and I shall look at their range of wood chippers when I am looking to replace my aging machine (very soon). I am very pleased to be able to recommend this business and it's services and products and I look forward to dealing with them in the coming years.
