I started doing business with Community Phone for my mom after her landline service with AT&T was out for over three weeks. It was easy to get started and I haven’t had too many issues with customer service however the service itself is absolutely horrible! The phone cuts off after only one or two rings on my mom’s side, but also for people who are calling. For instance she called me a few minutes ago and I wasn’t able to get to the phone so I tried calling her back over 12 times. Each time, the phone rang only twice and hangs up on me. She is always complaining about the phone cutting off on her when she is trying to make outgoing calls too. Luckily I was able to contact her only because she had a friend over who has a cell phone. I used my own landline to try calling her number while I was on my cell phone with my mom using her friend’s cell phone. The phone did the exact same thing, only thing is it wasn’t ringing at all at her house and she confirmed that the phone was completely hung up and ready to receive calls. I have made several calls to customer service but was told that these problems exist before we have spam block on. Spam block was also one of the primary reasons I chose Community Phone so getting rid of it just so the phone will work correctly doesn’t work for us. They told me that this only happens in certain areas with my mom’s area (Athens,Ga) being one of them. I don’t think we’re going to be able to use this service much longer as it seems like we have more trouble than it’s worth. The other issue I have is that customer service will ask me to give them the exact numbers that people are calling from or that my mom is calling so they can research the problem but my mom is elderly and doesn’t keep up or even know everyone trying to call her. She has missed calls from doctors and everything because of these issues. Customer service will then try to call her and have no issues and act like the issue is with everyone else. I call my mom every other day and run into these issues more often than not, calling from the same phone I might add. I am just so disappointed as I wanted this to work out.

ZERO STARTS! BEWARE THESE GUYS ARE FRAUDS !!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY THEY SELL YOU THE SERVICE AND TELL YOU IT WILL WORK IF THE CELL AND INTERNET TOWERS GO DOWN... TOTAL LIE. THE RETURN POLICY IS ALSO HOGWASH. THEY NEVER RETURN YOUR MONEY, ITS NOT FULLY REFUNDABLE. STAY AWAY !

Excellent Customer Service! Fast, easy process to set up the land line. I can't say enough good stuff about Community Phone. I worked with another phone company (Frontier) to install a landline at my mom's nursing home. It was an absolute nightmare and after 3 weeks and speaking to about 15 different people, it still did not work. I found Community Phone and chatted with David Borden. He was informative, very nice, answered all of my questions, and sent me a quote very quickly. I joined up, got the landline box in a few days. Literally just plugged it into the wall, screwed on the antennae, and plugged in the phone to the box. Then was able to make and receive calls immediately. This is such a good option for seniors who have difficulty with a cell phone. It uses the cell towers, but is just a regular phone that my mom is used to using. Thank you so much!

There are multiple problems: 1. When going to voice mail, the announcement says to leave a message for a phone number that isn't ours. 2. A call may go to voice mail even though the line is clear and should ring. 3. Almost all our calls ring twice and then cut out. Blocking spam is OK, if that is what it is doing??? 4. When picking up a call (after two rings) it can take a long time (compared to previous land lines or cell phones) for the parties to hear each other. A lot of "are you there" or "can you hear me". Very annoying. 5. There is NO customer service. I've called three times just now and been disconnected each time. Tried the Support button on the web site and got a message that they were not up and running currently. I am looking for any other service that can meet our needs.

My opinions are based on my individual experience and are expressed for the purpose of helping Community Phone improve their services and policies. We used their service for a year. The initial setup was difficult, in that we did not give us a local area code and we had to work with their customer service to get that setup, it took weeks and required additional hardware. We also found that the sales team didn't tell the whole truth about their services. For one thing, they said they offered long-distance calling, but it was very difficult to make long-distance calls. You needed to essentially use a calling card that was for purchase at an additional cost. This was greatly inconvenient and required additional steps for making a long-distance call. Also, when we ended service, we were charged for the equipment, even though we returned it. They stated we did not return its back battery cover of the main unit and it had 2 small scratches on it (which we did not notice when we sent it to them). Prior to their charging us they agreed to let us send them the back cover to avoid the $100 fee. But they then, a few days later they emailed and used the 2 small scratches on the unit to deny the refund even though we already took steps to send them back the missing cover. Overall, I would not do business with them again.

I just signed up for Community Phone for my elderly mother. I spoke with Sammy and he made the sign up experience very simple and explained everything. I liked how he actually listened to my questions and gave me clear and concise answers instead of talking over me as I spoke... which happens often with call centers. Thank you Sammy.

Worst landline service EVER! First off when we switched to community phone they gave a new number that wasn't even in our area code! Secondly the service connection is absolutely horrible. We're lucky if we have actual service 10 days a month. We get calls and the phone rings, but there's no connection, nothing shows up on the caller ID, and yes I have reset the phone, checked that the sim card is in the charging base, switched the base off, then back on. Literally everything to trouble shoot the phone...with no luck. Does community phone issue a partial refund for poor or lack of service? NO! And customer service is USELESS. I am not very knowledgeable about technology but I DO KNOW garbage when I see it. And Community Phone is GARBAGE.

Customer service was excellent, please keep it going in America. We're still having a little problem with connection but pretty sure it's our location. Prices are very good, after dealing with ATT,I would say they are excellent.

Started great, got a friendly helpful man named Will in Boston, then he stopped responding to calls. Now get mostly offshore communication problems. I have good phone performance but still don't have name on outgoing calls. Called many times to no avail. They do good at 1st, then NOT!! Update; Learned last nite that the call waiting STILL'S not working. Name does seem to be with some outgoing calls now. Update 1 JAN 24; Thanx for response, see no way to reply. The call waiting SEEMS OK now however my name still mostly isn't going out with my number when I call. out.

I was so stressed out I was trying to find a company that is customer friendly. Looked up Phone ratings Community Phone, has a TOP rating. The individuals that represent the company are pleasant, didn't transfer me from one place to another; and after waiting on the line; didn't cut me off. I see why the company has a good rating. I am also happy to have the personal assistance that I received from the Onboarding office. I was having a lot of trouble getting my phone service straight; but by the kind guidance that I have received from the agent; at the Onboarding Office; who I had been speaking to by e-mail, all is well. A pleasant surprise! He reached out to me by phone. And offered assistance. My landline was already switched; I was having difficulty switching my cellular from another phone company to Community Phone. All is set. He helped me tremendously; I will let my Senior Wellness Center in DC know about this service. I highly recommend this company and Its outstanding customer support. Mary W.

l live in a rural mountain area and have spotty reception if l am lucky. l found your company and did some homework about refunds etc. if l get terrible reception. l decided to try, and boy am l glad that l did. l get perfect reception every time and it is less expensive that landline companies that have been around forever. l recommend you try this company...they are for real and are there to help you!

I signed my elderly mom up for this service as she has dementia and is having a hard time working a cell phone. I so wanted this to work. Shipping was an issue. I typed in my mom's address but the web browser generated an extra digit. I didn't notice until after I placed the order. I sent a message back as soon as I noticed this. Never got a response. When I called they told me I had to contact the shipping company. I had to call twice because I had never heard of the shipping company and needed to get contact info. Got a hold of the shippers to get them to send the device to the right address. Got billed. 2 weeks later I finally got the device. Hooked up the device. It didn't work well. Cell service in my mom's assisted living is poor. She lives downstairs and I have verizon and calls are poor. Her device said 5 bars though? but every other call was put to voice mail and then she couldn't dial out and when we finally hooked up it dropped calls. Very frustrating. Especially for someone with dementia. She needs reliable communication to family and doctors. So I wanted to cancel and get something reliable. This is where they kept wanting me to fix the problem. I was even refered to amazon to buy equipment to make it work. Also was told I could buy cell phones. She can't use those. Also told they could crank up the boosting to help her get service. Haha. Yeah right. Got billed a month while they "problem solved". Also whenever I got "tech" support it was from over seas. If I said something off script they didn't know how to reply. Communication with language was an issue. I spent 30 minutes explaining under no uncertain terms that we were canceling. When they finally got the message I wasn't refunded all of the cost because I wouldn't trouple shoot with them. It says on their website they would. Shame on them becaue they work with elderly people and I'm sure if I wasn't there to help my mom she would have been scammed out of the whole amount. I would never refer someone to this company.

Awesome customer service very professional, received my equipment very quickly with no issues. I would highly recommend so much better than those other providers. Finally a landline that has great service without the big provider hassels.

I have been working with a Congolese church (I am not Congolese), helping them out with their technical issues. I was tasked with finding them a telephone service that would be excellent and affordable. I have been working with Elijah, and it has taken over a month to resolve all of this (because of the issues the Congolese have), and the language barrier. Elijah has been extremely helpful and responsive on days I thought he would be unavailable. He has been understanding, continuously communicative, and all around very pleasant to work with. He gets A+++ for my review, and deserves a big raise! Thanks so much!!!

Was able to update credit card from one to another. This was one issue and one person but went smooth. There has hardly been time for evaluation of phone. This was installed for my sister so it will be there if her cell phone fails her and she has barely "met" it. Thankful for it.
