Cera; LABS Hawley Lock, 1 Water Lane, NW1 8NZ, London, GB
This is the worst company I have came across my mother in-law is receiving absolutely terrible care ,to be honest there is only 1 carer we can trust , we have had soiled pads in left in laundry bin in bedroom still attached to PJ's , dirty pads left on top off kitchen bunker, safety latch left off fridge freezer, , bins left not emptied, pads not changed but carer's have said they have done it , mum left sitting in the lounge with no TV switched on , left in lounge in the dark , not given hot meals as requested, left in wet pads for over 8hr more than once , need I go on , and yes all this after meetings with head office, would not recommend at all . The 1 star is to the carer who is always great with mum .
I have found my dealings with this company exemplary the Supervisor, Ian goes above and beyond to help. His knowledge and efforts make this whole business so much easier. The two carers especially Dawn Borny take the greatest care of my partner and plus being a great support to myself. I have no reservations in recommending this company.
This company offer very poor communication at every step. My wife had one carer- Linda- who was very good but unfortunately she was the only positive thing about our total experience. .we had Carers turning up at the wrong times and days . They then proceeded to write up diary notes covering a 30 minute period for visits which never happened. I hope they were not billing social work for these non events. They appear to have a chronic shortage of staff and as such the service user suffered. I'm sorry to say that apart from Linda I have nothing positive to say..Each visit lasted on average 12 minutes and what happened bore little resemblance to the care plan. I dispensed with their services sfter 3 weeks waiting for the promised call backs
As in past reviews the care and help the cares give is excellent How ever what let's the the company down is the amount of times the times get changed and even though you have been told given us times that are later the we agreed on .
All cera care is Insteasted in is money unfortunately. They don't care about the wellbeing and health of their careers especially at night when we are out delivering care ourselves in the dark, they don't supply anything for our safety at night baring in mind most of their workers are lone workers and females. We don't get any benefits from working with the company not even a thanks you. They are quick enough in taking money of you but when it comes to money the owe you the aren't in a hurry to give it back, communication is bad. They expect you to go into clients that you don't know nothing about and don't have care plans ready in time.
This care company simply doesnt care! Having regular carers is important, and having obly ever requesting one thing - that no male carers are sent to help dress/undress/shower, they continually send this poor chap and I just dont feel comfortable at all and then have to rely on family which defeats the point of wanting to keep my independance. If i do have a run of continual carers, they are generally rushing as they are over worked which is not their fault, but staff retention is an issue affecting those who stay. A) They moan about the resulting workload and B) They moan about nobody listening to them moaning! This sometimes also impacts on the time they are able to stay to help me. If you need urgent assistance between Friday and Monday the new national call centre is all but impossible to reach. I have one lady who comes who really makes a difference as she says she would like her people to be treated how she would want people to care for her parents. This is lovely. I think more of the staff need to have this approach. I wish this review was better - but with more staff leaving I think it will get worse.
I am happy with the carers that come in to look after my dad and he is happy with them too
Out of the blue, your company stopped coming to care for my father....leaving the full burden of care on my 75 year old mother. Given my father requires full time care and we had been getting 4 visits per day from 2 carers, i find this utterly disgraceful.
My mother who is 98 years old had previously been cared for by another Care company, which was then taken over by Cera (a bigger company). Initially all appeared promising with the introduction of a mobile app to see relevant updates. However, it became clear that the information recorded could not be relied as being the truth. Carers can leave generic basic updates with no actual details of the visit. One example was my mother had a fall whilst the carer was there. The carer then called me to let me know and ask if I could attend my mother. I said I would be there immediately. Upon arrival the carer had already left the home – but the details of the incident were never recorded anywhere. That carer was removed from visits. It was rare for my mother to get regular carers and when they did attend they never stayed for the time allocated, instead of 30 minutes it could be 20 minutes. The final heartbreak was when a new carer pushed mothers bedroom door whilst my mother was on the other side, she then fell. An ambulance attended and took my mother to hospital. As a result, she will not be able to return to her home and will be placed in a nursing home. This was recorded in the Cera Care app, however to this day not one person from the company has been in touch with me to discuss my mother’s condition. So much for being a Company that cares.
Regular carers have made such a positive impact on my parents lives, I cant thank them enough. First supporting one parent, then following a fall both parents. After losing Mum they provided emotional as well as physical support to Dad, which was very important for someone with dementia who relied on them daily. Over the past few years they have become like extended family. As his needs increase we hope they will continue to be his main care team. Teatime carers fluctuate more but they are helpful and friendly. I have found that getting to know the carers has helped to ensure we are working together, their opinions and experience has helped me to make decisions. Office staff have also been very helpful with speeding up the contacts with social services. I would recommend them but appreciate everyone has different experiences, so get to know the carers for the best outcomes.
Care is person centered.carer's great with my mum who is later stages of Dementia so can be challenging but always deal with her with patience and kindness.
Excellent staff, excellent care. Staff are kind and helpful really appreciate the care they provide - above and beyond what is expected. Thanks all Care is ongoing not just one day
My care plan states "no male carers" and yet they still send them, taking the last bit of dignity I have left. There is no consistency in staff and staff retention is poor. The times are not per my care plan meaning I am left in bed for 15 hours a day. The office staff don't seem to care and speak to me like I am dirt and an inconvenience. There is no confidentiality between myself and the office. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.
Mam has dementia and often wonders who people are. Cera care usually tell carers this so they can introduce themselves. All the carers are very pleasant and friendly and some go above and beyond to help
Used service for nearly a year now. Majority of the carers are caring, good and address my mothers needs, but some are basic in experience and training. There is a problem more so over the last few months with the rota system. Most days there is only 2.1/2hrs between breakfast call and lunchtime call, therefore tea time call can be over 6 hrs, I regularly contact the office to highlight the problem on a weekly basis. I use the app but twice this weekend I messaged thro app and em and not acknowledged On a positive note if anything highlighted by carers I am advised by the office.
After many months of our Mum not receiving the care she needed a new Manager was brought in to the Rise at Plympton. Now Mum is in need of end of life care and the Cera Manager and her team are really going above and beyond. It took us time to get there but now things are where they need to be. Thank you Kimberley and your staff.
Been weeks and still have no logging in details. Their telephone number is no longer in use. Carers are able to login to their calls and get paid when they either haven't turned up or are altering their times.
I was happy to work along side with your Carers. All shifts went smoothly
Would recommend Cera care Peterborough very highly. We used them for the last 4 months of my father in law's life and all of the carers and other staff were very kind and helpful. The app was very useful as we were very far away, and communication was excellent.
Girls especially Gemma always try to get a smile from Mum despite how much she hS deteriorated due to her dementia
