Please reach out to your customers when you are able to continue with Byte aligners. This is the information I received: On October 24, 2024, Byte announced the voluntary suspension of sales and marketing of its Byte Aligners and Impression Kits while the Company conducts a review of certain regulatory requirements related to these products.
I paid almost $2300 and my teeth are not in very bad shape. I was hopeful to get better alignment but I was mistaken big time. I used my aligners as described and I did not see much change. I contacted support. Support person changes every time. They sent me endless instructions and asked me send many photos. After all I dont see any visible improvement on my teeth. Dont waste your money. Just save a little more and get a treatment from an orthodontist. So, you can get real treatment and have someone talked to.
Absolute sham of a company! They are under investigation for not doing their due diligence on customers prior to treatment. I am now being sent back and forth with the payment company and Byte in regard to my refund. Edit: their automated responses to their reviews just repeat the above back and forth FYI!
I was promised a full refund for $2599 and never got it. Now I can't even call the company. They put the refund request in on November 4th. The first time I called they told me it would take 14 business days. After the 14 days I called again and they told me 30 days. On the 30th day I called and they told me they finished the refund and to call my bank. My bank did not receive the refund. When I tried to call Byte back they flagged my number and will not answer.
Took my impressions, waited patiently and was informed shortly before my aligners were shipped that they had FDA issues and stopped production at large. I have been waiting for over 1.5 months for my 3.4k refund and they have not been helpful whatsoever. Currently waiting on PayPal to try and get my money back.
Tracking your order is impossible. I was one of the unfortunate ones that placed my order shortly before the company decided to hold all orders. They sent out cancellation notice at the same time that my aligners were due to be shipped. I still have a purchase dispute filed with Affirm due to no receipt of product and Affirm still reflects the dispute is open. Communication from this company regarding their current hold on new orders is terrible
Absolutely horrible. I received an impression kit was approved for aligners spoke with an advisor and paid for my aligners with third-party financing through Affirm. Then byte Contacted me and retracted my aligners and saying that I was going to get a refund within “ 30 days”. It’s been over 2 1/2 months. I cannot get a hold of anyone within this company. I have called, emailed, gone to the Better Business Bureau, and I’m working with a consumer attorney at the moment to sue this company. Affirm has been contacted as well considering Byte charged $2400 To my Affirm account and has yet to refund, I have stopped making payments for an item that I never received and it has cost my credit over 100 points. It is criminal. They are horrible at communication. If you call the main line, it goes straight to a voicemail that says all of their agents are busy and to email them which they never get back to you as well. This company is horrendous.
Byte has suddenly stopped all treatments. I was straightening my teeth with them for over a year and then, I think they got sued - now they are withholding my retainers from me and saying they cannot continue with treatment until they get some kind of permission from a dentist. I think the news and BBB needs to get involved because I assume this is now happening to thousands of people who already paid and straightened their teeth only now to not be able to obtain the retainers to keep them straight. I'm at a standstill!
I paid for my all-night aligners, and a week later I got a tracking number for the box. 5 weeks after my payment I still haven’t received my aligners and so I emailed support just asking for an update. I few days later I received an email back saying my “aligners will no longer be ordered and a full refund has been issued.” They said it could take up to 30 days to get my money back, it’s been 3 weeks and I’m crossing my fingers. I am just confused why they cancelled my order after taking my money and me asking them for a shipping update. This interaction just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Just got off phone with Byte. They've shut down their process to make aligners. Sounds like their aligners aren't doing what they're supposed to. Was told to see my dentist to confirm I'm still a candidate. Stay away
I have payed twice for my impressions, 2 months ago. They were in contact with me. I returned my impressions a month and a half ago, what is there communication problem. No phone call, no email, not anything, not even responded that they received them.
Started my Byte program in 2020 during the pandemic. Really wanted to get something done that year, given the circumstances and limited options for recreation. I chose Byte because they guaranteed I would be happy with my smile, even if alignment shifted. I was hopeful for the results yielded to be aligned perfection, and instead went through all of the original trays to still see some imperfections and incomplete tracking. I was not asked to send any forwarded Xrays, doctor notations, approval from my dentist for being a proper candidate for Byte, ANYTHING. It was an onboarding of a questionnaire of which consisted of a few questions that the potential "patient" could fill out incorrectly due to ignorance, subjectivity, etc. I suffered gum recession, gum and tooth sensitivity, bleeding, and irritation of a bony protrusion I have that is medically referred to as mandibular tori. I sent pictures of my entire mouth from every angle prior to them sending me the tray kit, which clearly indicate the presence of these factors of concern. They did not make mention of any contraindications regarding this visible condition, and I was under the impression that pain was normal to feel with alignment due to what I had always heard about braces, tightening/adjustments, etc. I was not privy to the fact they were not following FDA guidelines in pursuing a dentists approval, Xrays, previous care rendered and notations about conditions etc. They were just happy to make a sale, as quickly and efficiently as possible. At the expense of my dental health and gum health. Please if you are considering this company, DON'T DO IT!!! They are not qualified, and the FDA is investigating their practices! There are customers having to pay their orthodontists to CORRECT the problems Byte caused them! I paid in full for them to not honor their lifetime "smile guarantee", and contacting them once they've gotten your money makes it nearly impossible to get ahold of anyone. I am seeking a refund currently, and if not successful in that venture, litigation arrangements will be made.
They cancelled production sent me an email saying they would refund me and then didn't and now I can't get a hold of anyone to get the refund.
Absolute waste of my money. I have a single problem with my teeth, one tooth pushed back/crooked, nothing else at all. This was put on my profile as the only problem area I had. After months and new aligners the tooth had not moved at all. They eventually told me I could not extend my treatment any further unless I paid more. The aligners are very weak and break and crack easily, so don't expect them to last long. Customer service is bad, they don't answer quickly, were not concerned with keeping in contact when I had a problem or keeping me updated with the treatment or shipments.
Despite adhering to the treatment plan and wearing the aligners as instructed, my teeth have shifted in the wrong direction, becoming more crooked than they were before treatment. Additionally, I have experienced bleeding from my gums while wearing the aligners, which is extremely alarming and unacceptable. I have been trying to contact and everything keeps saying no one is available...
Horrible customer service. No way to contact someone. My lower trays will not work any further because I cannot close my bite due to my bottom front teeth hitting my top front teeth. I also paid for a tray replacement which I tried to cancel and request a refund. Im done with top treatment and am not happy but still need a retainer to keep top teeth where they are at the very least while i seek orthodontic support elsewhere. This cost me $2100 and i cannot get anyone to reach out to me.
Dont use it!!!! You won't get straight teeth and they won't fix them.
it is impossible to get help. they force requests thru the app so there is no record of my support requests. after a check in where I take and submit pictures, they ask if you are having issues. when you say yes, they ask you to take and send pictures. 1- I just sent pictures, and 2- when you send more you never hear back from them.... now I am locked out of the app, no one emails me, all their email come from do not reply email addresses... worst of all i keep byting my lip, my lip is so swollen and bleeding that I can only safely eat oatmeal and soup... it's a nightmare....
Byte has been life-changing for our 16-yr-old! We were told by an orthodontist that he did not qualify for aligners. That doctor wanted to put him in 4 years of metal braces. (He only had a few crooked teeth in front, nothing complicated) Wow am I glad I looked into Byte! Our son did the entire system on his own, followed the program to the T, and had exceptional results! Byte suited our son’s lifestyle much better and got the job done in 4 months! I went through nightmare treatment years ago and my daughter’s traditional braces were awful! The worst doctor, $5k down the drain, etc. (she’ll be going to Byte for a touch-up) Byte is simple, drama-free, and far more equitable and affordable of an option. It is a great option for cases that are not terribly complex and for those who will follow the program and wear their aligners. Please have a clean bill of dental health first before proceeding with your impressions and only do so if your child is responsible enough to follow through. If you do not commit, the program will fail you. If you qualify and commit, you’ll likely have a great outcome.
I purchased the kit and sent my impresssions back only to receive no response. Huge waste of time and money. I’d rather pay 2x the price for professional ortho at this point. Update: Cannot get ahold of them, the chat AI tells me to call a number that then tells you to make a request online. Online it says my professional is not available. No options to submit a report or issue. I will be reporting to my credit company and filing a dispute, as there is no way for me to contact a human at Byte to solve this case. Awful experience, I do not recommend to anyone
