Exactly what everyone else is experiencing. Airlines refunded my ticket. Vayama is asking me to provide them proof that the airlines refunded the money. Airlines just telling me over phone that the refund is processed doesnt count.
Same experience as everyone else. Flight canceled due to COVID-19, airline provided refund to Vayama already, Vayama refuses to acknowledge that they've received the refund. No option to call Vayama, rather I receive a generic email from Vayama representative 1x every 24 hours, which does not address any of the facts. This is fraud plain and simple. Vayama have a class action lawsuit on their hands.
Booked trip via Vayama. Understanding Covid is causing the world to move more differently then ever before, they are a sad excuse for a 3rd party site. On hold for hours, dropped before talking to an agent, eventually they cut the line. Every two months I get an email saying "Hey we know you want your refund, but things take time." - signed customer service. No one wants to put their name out there. All airlines have already refunded 3rd party websites, including the airline I booked. It took reporting the charge as fraud from the company because of their dishonesty practices. 0-10 would never recommend.
GRACIAS!
Not recommended during the pandemic. Flights can be canceled at any time and they will refuse to reimburse you. You will hear a story about the money you paid them was paid to the airline. You have to call the airline directly for a refund. The airline will tell you since you didn’t buy directly with them, they cannot assist you (this is after hours of hold time). You will contact Vayama back to tell them that, if you are lucky you get a person. If not it’s a recording stating due to the large call volumes they cannot come to the phone now. This occurred over 5 days a least. When you email, they respond with a generic script, never answering any questions. I eventually got someone on the phone who told me I needed to contact the airline again and tell them to annotate my account to state I was eligible for a refund. When you call the airline they clearly state Vayama knows what to do. They do not annotate accounts and let them know to contact the airline directly if they have questions. My refund request was not going anywhere so I filed a dispute with my bank. This was after 2 months of the planned trip. Post the filing of the dispute and receiving a temporary credit from my bank, they stated I needed to withdraw my claim so they could assist me. Never answering if they intended to provide me with a full refund, etc. The back and forth was very disturbing with no results. My bank has not heard back from them and they sent me over 5 requests to withdraw my dispute and show them evidence the amount was taken out of my account. I told them I would not do that. They continued to email me about the same request. Finally I told them to stop and i would write them a negative review online to warn other customers. I will stop here. Though they offer cheaper flights, I would not use them during the pandemic. If your trip is canceled, getting a refund will be a headache.
One star is generous. This website sucks. They have high prices, they don't let you pick your seat or add baggage (most third party reservation websites do this, instead Vayama just redirects you to the airline website), they charge ridiculous fees for things that should be free so your price ends up super inflated by the time you book, and they charge around $200 for cancellations with a REFUNDABLE ticket, even immediately after booking. Changing flight dates or other logistics also either costs an absurd amount of money or simply isn't possible. DON'T BOOK WITH VAYAMA!!
I am in the same boat as everyone affected by COVID and a complete lack of communication from Vayama about flight status and then refund status. I received an email saying I would receive a cash refund but when i contacted the airline directly they stated that Vayama request a travel credit refund. I am disputing my charges with my credit card company. The only reason they are getting 2 stars is because i booked with them in 2018 for a trip and everything was completely fine with no issues.
Tough lesson learnt. Will never buy from Vayama again. Bought multiple tickets for travel in May 2020 from Vayama. Airline cancelled all flights in April 2020 due to Covid. Vayama has shutdown all their customer service phone lines. No response to emails from Vayama. Refunded one ticket after charging administrative fee $100. Other tickets are yet to be refunded ($2500) after 4 months. Big scam. Stay away.
Vayama is not friendly at all regarding ticket changed due to Pandemic. They do not know the ticket terms and condition. Airline already allow to rebook ticket for free. Vayama require admin fee which will not do a courtesy waiver no matter what happened even though it is covid related. They said they do not have any courtesy policy to assist customer. This is not the company you want to do business with. Watch out people.
It is very upsetting to see that since my mother's flight was canceled, Vayama has zero interest to make any refund. According to the policy it clearly states if there is a "Scheduled Airline Failure" they should provide a refund, but have not received any refund instead they are now charging me $290 plus extra "unknown" booking charge, for a ticket that cost $1019. So far after calling them multiple times, I was not able to reach them. Although I got a confirmation from the airline that they will provide a refund to Vayama but Vayama will not do anything as they have probably figured out how to scam the customer. I will do my best to spread this message to stay away from Vayama and go buy tickets from other agents or the airline directly.
Worst worst experience ever. Do not book with them. After I managed with an American airline to do my trip, on my way back 4 days before my flight ,they sent me an email saying that they cannot give me return tickets only “ refund” and I was stuck in another country with no tickets . Again I called United and they helped me when all the European airlines said call Vayama
Vayama abandoned us in Greece in the middle of our trip this year. They never even told us our flights were cancelled. I had to find out for myself. I tried to call and email them since January when I found out that my flight had been cancelled by the airline. My emails were replied to with a standard response saying that I don't have to do anything and they will fix us up a month before my flight, which was supposed to be in May. I sent several emails, as their phone didnt work, and got the same standard response. They never contacted me until I finally got back home after buying another ticket from another airline in June. They contacted me in August after I disputed their charge with my credit card. They said since there was a dispute they couldn't do anything until I dropped the dispute. I told them since they only contacted me three months after my scheduled return when I disputed them that they should give me a refund then i'll drop the dispute. I doubt i'll ever hear from them again. This is an unethical business that everyone should stay awaty from!!!
Disaster does not refund my money despite cancelled .
If i could give them no stars i would. Im still waiting on a refund for my cancelled flight due to covid from march... havent received a refund nor a credit.
They never refunded after 10 emails over two weeks when the airline cancelled my ticket, and calling them didn't work because they are not accepting calls for months since covid caused "unexpected call volume". So basically there was no way to get a refund except by filing a dispute.
I filed for a $633 refund of my flights due to COVID on 01/25/20. Hainan airlines approved my full refund and I reached out to Vayama on 01/27/20 and after hours on the phone and lots of disagreements with the customer service rep, they let me know that my full refund was accepted and that it would take 16-20 weeks to receive my FULL refund. It has now been NINE months since then and I have reached out to them multiple times but they do not answer my phone calls or emails. All I get are automated emails that say that they are working with the airline for the refund. Avoid vayama at all costs!!
Yeah the price may looks good but trust me, do some research on google before actually booking the tickets or you may end up like me, wasting lots of time to deal with these dishonest people. Long story short, flights got canceled by airline and in my case the travel agency (Vayama) should be the one contacting the airline and starting the refund process. Vayama sent me multiple mails saying that "they will prioritize my refund, by asking the airlines, request my patience during this process." Two months later, I called the airline myself and found out that Vayama hasn't sent ANY request to the airline, which was already ridiculous. After I wrote another email to Vayama pointing this out, they finally sent the request to the airline. Vayama sent me some more updates basically saying that it's all the airline's problem and Vayama was already pushing them blablabla (which turned out to be bullshxt) Then after another month of waiting, the airline told me that they already replied and confirmed Vayama's refunding request a month ago, but they haven’t received any response from Vayama to continue the refunding process since then. So basically Vayama has been lying to me for over three months. While me and the airline try to solve the problem during these crazy times, Vayama is the one playing some kind of stupid tricks and delaying all the process. Again, prices may look good but they don't get this kind of rating for no reason. Think twice unless you have too much time to mess with them when there're some unpredictable schedule changes. This company has been and will definitely keep on lying to its customers.
I booked flights to Europe using Vayama. Two of the flights were cancelled by the airline so I should have been able to get a full refund. I e-mailed their customer service department many times over several months and was only able to get a refund with help from by credit card company. Very poor service. I will not use them again.
Booked a flight with Cathay Pacific through Vayama. On March 5th Cathay announced that they will allow for free rebooking for our flight and we contact Vayama. Over the next few weeks, we tried to contact them through several emails, phone calls, and messages through our Vayama account and did not receive a single response. On March 22nd we received an email from Cathay Pacific informing us that our flight was cancelled and we reached out again to Vayama. After countless emails, phone calls, and messages, Vayama finally sends a response on May 15th (over two months since our initial email) stating that they are "working" on our refund. After zero explanation and lackluster follow up, we reported them for fraud with my bank. We sent copies of all our emails, phone calls, and messages and my bank determined our claim of fraud was valid. They may not care when you are banging on their door, but once your bank goes after them, they'll return your money.
Have withheld my refund money for a flight that was cancelled back in March, sent me an email discussing private details of another customer's booking and is now openly admitting they have received the money back from the airline but will hold onto it until I tell my bank to cancel the dispute of a charge. I do not trust a word they say and am therefore very frightened to take note of their advice. DO NOT BOOK.
