My daughter Tanya is in a current position where she has had to apply for SSP. When her payment for last week didn’t arrive , I rang the above to query why. I spoke with Rishath Hoque Rahman on 01/02/24 who explained that she had contacted me by email on the 24/01/24 to inform me there was a problem with the sick note that I had emailed and requesting another sick note be sent. Unfortunately I hadn’t seen the email and when I did read it, to my horror I had sent an old sick note totally unrelated to my daughter . I put this down to my attempt to assist my daughter through her illness but my lack of computer skills which had caused the delays in payment. On agreement, the original sick note was emailed immediately although this meant that my daughter wouldn’t receive any SSP for at least another week as sick notes are processed each Tuesday so we had missed this weeks slot. I asked Rishath if I could speak to a manager . She advised that her manager was in a meeting but she would ask him to phone me as soon as possible. True to her word I received a phone call from her manager Daniel. There was clear evidence that Rishath had explained our situation and that she was trying very hard to resolve the difficulties that I had created in order for my daughter to receive a payment earlier than advised. Daniel also fully understood the situation and he asked not just how my daughter was but how the family were?. I knew immediately that he seemed to ‘Get it’ and there was absolutely no signs of Bureaucracy or Jobs worth from either him or Rishath. Given the large organisation they work in this is very difficult to achieve. The outcome of this call was that Daniel and the management team were able to assist my daughter with a payment this week as originally expected . This would have taken extra work from the whole sickness benefits team . So agreed in future that my Grandaughter Lily will send all future sick notes in to ensure they are correct and go to the right department. and any other problems will be dealt with by Rishath. Always been very helpful their online timesheets are easy and straight forward never had an issues with payments and the staff have always been very helpful when I have had queries.
