Radio.co has been and is unwilling to look for answers on how we can use streamlicensing.com in conjunction with their Radio.co service so we're not fined for broadcasting licensed music illegally here in the U. S.. We signed up with Radio.co so we could have a way of remotely broadcasting by streaming the Radio.co stream through our Shoutcast server to our wavestreaming.com server. But, the wavestreaming.com Shoutcast service is being discontinued by Radio.co leaving us to look for another company to host the stream from our own automation server. We at BLAST! Digital FM feel it's very short-sighted of Radio.co to discontinue the wavestreaming.com Shoutcast service without first providing an alternative to their current clients on Radio.co. Because of that, we'll be cancelling both our wavestreaming.com and Radio.co service in the near future to go with a company that can provide both Shoutcast streaming services and make it ease for us to broadcast remotely. We would much rather remain with your service, since we have had good service up to this point, other than the streamlicensing.com issue. But, we must have the music licenses paid to remain on the air. We can't take the legal risk of not having our music licensed.
Excellent customer service. Reliable staff. Very thorough platform. No experience neccessary.
So far my service has been wonderful hope to expand to bigger things in the future...
I would give them FIVE but customer support could be alot better when setting up your radio station. I had alot of issues I just had to figure out on my own. But the software and easy of use is GREAT FIVE STARS ON FUN!!!!
I've learned to create a play list, it’s incredibly Awesome!!!
I tried other before and was so frustrated, I learnt about radio.co and tried it, best experience ever and I appreciate the immediate support from their team.
Great service to use
We have been with radio.co a year now and love the ease of use and quality of the product they offer. Our station ‘Mighty Mix Radio’ has been growing steadily and radio.co are great at adding new features like requests, to enhance our offering to listeners. We also take the website hosting and find this a useful addition, to make a great quality and professional website. Technical support is always second to none at resolving any issues we have, especially Jim. Would highly reccomend them in starting your new station or coming over to their platform.
v good Excellent service advanced easy to handle Control panel thanks, radio.co
We at Fire Online Radio love Radio.co service, it is by far the best for your online radio station. We were there from the very start, August 2015. All the features/ideas we recommend were implemented (pop-out player, stand alone streaming software etc). Radio.co is receiving 4 stars for now for two reasons, 1. No hardware streaming device as yet, a small one using a Raspberry Pi might be possible. 2. The cost, it is a little too expensive for us after converting the US to our XCD currency. However we will stick to Radio.co as long as we are online.
I think all is going very well except the couple times we had connection issues. Other than that, its been excellent!
We trust Radio.Co to support our customers to the same standard that we do and we've not been disappointed! Stunning Support, given in a timely and appropriate fashion. They're simply the best! We use them for our 24/7 station too!
awesome service,no issues.
The web site add on is not as expected. Simply a link to Weebly ! No apparent templates for a radio station web site.
Great UI. Easy to use with a lot feature we've been screaming out for. There's still a few bugs though. 1) The clickable area on the large player should be the whole album image and not just the play icon 2) We're finding the wrong song is sometimes recorded when we're playing live 3) Deleting requests should be a checklist action 4) Tagging songs feels a bit awkward.
Radio.co has been helping me grow my network of stations over the past 8 months. I am now up to 4 radio properties online and want to continue expanding. The tool I like the most are ability to invite DJs to voicetrack their shows and also I like the new mixcloud upload tool. Its reliable and can trust to work 247. Customer service has been great. As a former customer of other services such as kingradio, shout and viastream, I can confirm that radio co has exceeded my expectations in their level of support provided has been better than others.
There are thousands of online businesses out there that promise the world - including first rate support - when you are signing up. You pay your money and good luck from that point onwards. But Radio.co breaks the rules - they make the promises and REALLY, TRULY back it up with action. I am working hard to establish an online radio station and being a complete novice, I was apprehensive about whether I was up to the challenge or not. I need not have worried. The guys at Radio.co - in particular, Jim - have been amazingly helpful, tolerant of my obvious lack of knowledge and experience and could have not have been more supportive if they tried. Absolutely impressed by my experience!
UPDATE: Radio Co has responded to my request now. They have indicated they have changed their service tickets. Perhaps the challenge is that it is not clear how to get questions answered quickly. I do like the product. It is really slick and great for my needs. They have their own radio player, which is still in Beta and does an easy and great job for my need. Price is right!
Radio.co is a good product depending on what your are trying to do! But there are several BIG exceptions that I will outline here. I rated them with 2 stars rather than 1 star because 1 star in my opinion is "Total Incompetence" First off, I am not new to broadcasting, 20 plus years. So perhaps my expectation of what a radio station is supposed to sound like are much greater than what this UK company can deliver or what they believe is the norm in broadcasting. I have been with Radio.co for close to a year now. It took me several months to get the station up and running. Why so long? The number of songs, ID's, sweepers, etc (3000 +). I had to upload all the songs, adjust the cue in and out on each, build tags/categories for each, create schedules for all clocks, etc. Work with Radio.co to build my apps for Google and Apple. However, I continued to run into major issues that are 100% Radio.co related. (More details on that below) Keep in mind, the option to upload all your music, jingles, sweepers, ID's etc are there and if you ever reach a point that you want to find a better service you will have to start all over with building a new radio station from "Scratch". They know this and I believe this is some of the biggest reason some of the biggest issue with them never get resolved. I am very curious what their Client Loss Rate is each month! I do have to say that support gets back to you quickly - that is if it isn't the weekend! NO ONE is available period after 5 PM Friday UK time! So, if your station goes down or has a major malfunction on their part - you are stuck till they get in on Monday and have time to get back to you. This has happened to me. The station went crazy on a Friday evening during a big special I was airing. It started skipping songs, playing only part of the song, 10 min delays between what it did play and more. I was totally helpless and simply had to turn off the volume to prevent hearing it. This went on for all weekend long! Now in their defense that only happened once, but was enough to certainly be concerned. Now on to the issue that Radio.co will not resolve even when they say the development team has been notified and they are working on an resolution. And if you read the other comments in on the Trustpilot you will see these issues have been going on for years with NO resolution. Please read all of the reviews so you can see what I am telling you is facts! 1). The segue feature is a total joke. I have gone into my dashboard and adjusted the cue marks several times because for some reason their system will reset them. This extremely time consuming and a total waste of time when it has already been done. If you read the reviews you will see this has been an ongoing issue for several years. They simply post that they are working hard to resolve this. They have done nothing to completely resolve this! 2). The cue marks have more than the above issue. Even after they have been reset time and time again, they long delays between songs has been an issue since I joined Radio.co. Just as it has for other reviewers here. When I complain about the issue as I have done so many times, they say they are working on it and then I am told to turn off the artist and album separation rule because it causes the system to freak out! Really! They sell this feature as an important part of their package and yet you can't use it. Probably one of the most important features can't be use because it causes they system to freak out? Just fix it instead of making excuses. The last time I complained about this, Radio.co went into my dashboard and turned both of the features off and as a result the same artist played 3 times within a few minutes. It also DID NOT resolve the dead air between songs. When I realized what they had done I gave it some time to see if it would resolve the issue - It did not! So I went back in and turned it back on and it still had the long delays. As I sit here writing this review, I have counted 5 times there was at least 2-5 seconds of dead air between songs in under 30 minutes. And I can promise it is not the cue settings I have adjusted several times. Anyone who has ever spent any time in radio knows that "Dead Air" to the DJ sends dead cold chills throughout your body! It also makes the station sound more like playing a CD rather than a tight well produced radio station. As a matter of fact, one local radio station duplicates our format almost to a "T" - EXCEPT THE DEAD AIR! Imitation is the best form of flattery unless they do it better right? 3). Their Listener accounting system is a total joke. In the beginning my station was running as many as 100,000 listeners per month. This made the ability to monetize the station easy and revenue came in quickly. We were even adding a couple full time sales people to increase revenue and paying a hefty 30% commission on their sales (Highest in the industry). Then came the BIG change! Radio.co decided they were going to revamp the way the listener system was calculated. As a result my station went from 100,000 listeners per month to less than 5K. WHAT? Yes, listenership dropped to a fraction of what we were selling previously. So as a result, monetizing the radio station ended! Sales people lost their jobs and clients lost credibility with our popular radio station! Not an ego boost for sure! I am told by Radio.co that they remove all the Facebook and other web bots from the data. REALLY? That is simply impossible to believe. 4). On the same note of the "Listener Accounting System", I noticed so many flaws in the calculations. For example, The "Total Listeners" would never add up to the numbers shown in the graph, there would be times that no listeners would show up at all on the graph during a 3 day time frame, yet the total listeners would show hundreds. We are a Regional Internet Radio Station - focusing on a 4 state listenership. TX, NM, OK and LA. Based on feedback from listeners on Facebook, phone calls and our website we know we have a very large and dedicated following. But that is not shown on the "Listener Accounting System on Radio.co. This week Radio.co told me they have resolved this issue, yet I there has been no change in the amount of listeners. If anything they are down. I am going to wait to see if that is true. I can say this because I have verified this a number of times by going into several business in my area in one day to find that there are many different listeners tuned in. During one case study, 4-5 people in a business are listening either on their desktops, phone apps. Same day one business had us piped in through their over head speakers for all to hear. We had over 20 comments on Facebook and listeners calling the station for request or contest. Yet when I calculate over 20 listeners just in my area that day, the "Listener Accounting System" shows only 3 people are listening in the US. There is no way it is accurate. Period! These major flaws are costing radio stations big bucks. Our radio station is a business not a hobby. This has to be corrected. Now in closing, I will say that ever person I have contact with at Radio.co have been polite. They appear on the surface that they are taking care of these issues, but after almost a year of the same problems and multiple excuses, I find them impossible to believe. I do have options when it comes to what hosting service I use, but as I mentioned earlier, I will have to start my station all over again from scratch. This includes rebuilding the entire library, redoing all the apps, as well as all the internet radio station providers who have my URL listed for listeners to connect to our station. This will require educating the listeners on where to find us since the URL will change. We spent a lot of money promoting the station. That is money will been shoved down the drain if I have to start all over. This month they offered me a 10% discount on my billing to compensate for the problems I have been having. Oh and by the way be sure to calculate the Credit Card processing fee they charge of each bill you pay. I do not recall seeing anything about that fee being associated with my billing anywhere. Mine has been almost $14.00 on top of the $98 monthly fee. Do they have me by the balls? Possibly but I truly hope they will put priorities in place and fix these problems I have outlined. If in fact they do, I will update this post and will change the Star rating to a higher ranking based on the results. If not, Well time to start scratching right?
