Appalling!! Placed an order 10 days ago, selected delivery date for Monday 30th, took day off work. Received email few days before asking if I could receive delivery earlier on the Friday. Said yes, if time a lot could be given. No response so assumed we were back to Monday delivery. On Sunday night at 7.15pm I received email “cancelling” my order. I rang Matrials market first thing Monday and asked what was happening !! Apologies all round, delivery re-arranged for Weds and confirmed. Another day off work, email Tuesday “your delivery will with you on THURSDAY !! Absolutely useless. That’s two delivery dates both not met, nobody rang me, I had to contact them. The worst company I’ve ever used online for materials.

I was nervous ordering from Materials Market in light of some of the negative reviews. However, I placed my order for 2 x MOT1 bulk bags, 2 x Treated Sleepers, 4 x Treated Timber and rebar mesh on Monday 23 September and everything, bar one sleeper, was delivered this morning Friday 27 September. The missing sleeper was delivered this afternoon. Excellent service and value for money.

Really disappointing experience. I ordered materials but the lorry used needed crane access, which I had not been informed about. On arrival the delivery driver was unable to make delivery as it was unsafe (he was lovely!). He had only half the order - again this hadn’t been communicated. I called Materials Market and explained the situation and they advised it was better to cancel. They then took over 3 weeks to refund and took £100 from me. This was done with no explanation, blaming me for them being unable to make the delivery. Despite being a service provider who was unable to deliver the service of delivery… I was blamed. I asked for the complaint to be escalated, the manager was ‘too busy’ to speak to me. The customer service spokesperson said themselves that I was not at fault, that they thought I’d get a full refund and when they then three weeks later refunded me they thought the £100 charge was excessive. I had another company deliver the exact same order the next week via pallet with ease. I would avoid using Materials Market as the communication was appalling and they were unclear throughout and then unwilling to take any responsibility. Save yourself the hassle as it’s been utterly tedious you could lose £100 and have nothing to show for it.

The 5 pack fence panel product with Materials Market as the Verified Trader was platformed by B&Q on their website with free delivery as a carrot so naive me placed an order in good faith that it was a competitive price. it transpired that if I had purchased it directly from the supplier commissioned by Materials Market to deliver it I would have saved 40% of the cost I actually incurred through B&Q/Materials Market AND delivery would have been free anyway! So much for the B&Q carrot designed to entice the unwary. The cost of the product was determined by Material Market who take account of the slice of the profit that B&Q take for platforming the product. Profitable business for B&Q and Materials Market funded by a grossly excessive cost to the customer.

Goods never turned up on the day they had been confirmed for and never received any communication, rang them to be told it would come the following day but only half the order turned up. Then rang again to be told they would look into the other part of the order and would call me back but no call ever came and the delivery turned up the following morning. Company tried to say the remaining goods was only ordered the day before they arrived even though I sent them emails proving otherwise. I would avoid these at all costs, no communication from them and me doing all the chasing even after requesting call backs from managers. Had to wait 4 weeks for my refund as the goods were wrong and they still charged me £70 for delivery as my order then didn’t qualify for the free delivery. They were quite happy for me to have taken 3 days off work due to their incompetence.

Shocking service. Still waiting for a call back from a manager. Chased up requested another, still no call back. No show for materials, days taken off work for this. Then delivered with no communication, then returned as requested then charged 2 lots of delivery charge. Tried blaming supplier etc. no communication, no ownership.

Ordered some hardwood ply and some floorboards on Sep 15th, for delivery on 20th... 2 days later than they offered. 20th came and went without delivery. Email sent that PM asking for an update.... no response. Chased through on 24th using webchat and only after this chase did they seemingly realise that my delivery was outstanding. Blame placed on the supplier, and while they offered to try and get a new date, the lack of competence meant i cancelled the order.

Great speedy service. Placed a large order of 50mm PIR board and had it delivered within the timeframe given from a local supplier. No issues whatsoever

Terrible. Placed an order Monday - says 'acknowledged' in the portal. Delivery was 7am-3pm Friday. They call me at 3.07pm Friday to tell me they haven't got it and don't know when they will get it. Now I've wasted a week waiting for these morons. AVOID AVOID

7 x 2 joists You advertise products that you could not provide Ultimately we purchased products that were nowhere near what we had ordered but the price was reasonable

After going to B&Q to order the materials for a project I was shocked at how much it was going to cost. We left without buying anything and came home and looked on the Internet to see if we could get it cheaper. I'm glad I waited as I found Materials Market cost 1/2 the price of B&Q. Highly recommend this company and will definitely be ordering again from them

Materials Market is brilliant, their staff are polite and helpful, adding extra items to deliveries etc, very knowledgeable, their prices are brilliant, delivery staff brilliant as well, no issues and will use for future materials
