Ordered from here a week in advance as had best price and option of several delivery dates Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday Tuesday etc. Selected Monday, (one week away at the time of ordering) as could be on site to receive. Waited for confirmation, with nothing received by the Thursday so messaged on the website chat. After several hours got a response that they couldn't deliver till the Tuesday, only at this point realised I was dealing with a middle buyer who was just ordering from another supplier, and they probably hadn't placed the order in time. Frustrating as needed the materials for work starting on Monday. Had paid workers with no materials to continue the job. On Tuesday waited for delivery 7am-4pm and noting came, with worked on site from the afternoon waiting. No email, phone call or anything form Material Market explaining why, so had to message again on the website again to say nothing had ever arrived. Said that there were supplier issues and that it would come Wednesday, but again no time. Third day waiting and had to message again to get delivery time as needed to be available to offload. Eventually got 10 minutes warning and arrived 2 days late from a site less than 5 minutes away. Really bad at communication throughout. Chat system was helpful and very friendly and could help once you asked but should have to be chasing an order 4 times to find out delivery for this to be missed on two dates. Turned out in the end the order was from Travis Perkins, a supplier I looked at ordering from the previous week to. They had next day delivery available every day that week and this, as I looked to reorder from them at one stage. £20 more but for convenience of actually getting the order when needed would be worth it. No apology after (except on the chat window, saying they would escalate this to management) or any offer of a refund due to poor service which is why I am making the effort to warn others.
I came across Materials Market by accident and really glad I did. The price for what I wanted was better than any other local supplier I had investigated, the delivery was prompt and the charges were comparable to someone delivering over a short distance and the quality of the product was first class. I would use again without hesitation.
The materials all arrived on time and seem to be good quality. The delivery team were great at overcoming minor challenges in the drop off in our drive.
