We ordered 6 internal doors and a set of bespoke french doors. The 6 standard doors arrived quickly and were of good quality. However the bespoke doors which should have been delivered in 16 weeks actually took 32 weeks! When the doors eventually arrived we were very pleased with them but the unacceptable delay with no explanation or apology was disappointing

Catalogue deliberately misleading; material is listed as "Oak", which implies solid construction, using only this one1 material, whereas the heart of the door is a composite material, covered with a thin veneer, which lifted and warped. The threshold is also not solid, but composed of layers glued together, which came apart with the first heavy rain. The door was bought through Jewsons, and LPD doors would not enter into correspondence as they were not the supplier - although as manufacturer they produced both the door and the catalogue from which I chose it. An unreliable company with misleading marketing. Absolutely to be avoided.

We ordered 3 LPD doors via leader doors. They arrived on a Monday, at which point I took photos of the packaging which was damaged. We opened them on the Wednesday, and found that all 3 doors were damaged. I tried to call leader doors but after being on hold for an hour, gave up and emailed them instead. 2 days later I received an email confirming they'd be replaced by lpd doors. A few days passed and I emailed to see when we'd be likely to receive the doors, no reply. My husband called the following day and was told they would find out and get back to him the following day. They didn't. I tried calling today and was on hold for 30 minutes. Gave up and called again to leave a message, but got through. Was put on hold whilst they looked into it and after 7 minutes on hold I gave up again. I then received an email to say that because we'd notified them of the damage after 48 hours, lpd were refusing to replace the doors. Leader doors offered us £90 off our order (of £1100). At no point at ordering was I told there was a time frame for checking doors, nor was I told by the lpd delivery driver. If you scroll right to the bottom of our delivery confirmation email its written there- after a long space, almost like they don't want you to know it's there. It also appears from previous reviews that lpd have form for delivering damaged doors, but make no attempt to stop this from happening, they're just quite content to pass the damaged goods on wherever they can. Have given them 5 days to reach a satisfactory outcome, or I'll take to small claims, I'm so fed up of being ripped off by unscrupulous companies. UPDATE: further to the response asking me to contact my stockist, I had already tried multiple times by telephone with no answer, and so emailed them asking for a response within 5 days. That was 6 days ago and I've heard nothing from either company. UPDATE: Further to your update, I've heard nothing and cannot get through by telephone to my stockist leaving me no alternative but to contact you through here. Please could you ensure leader doors contacts us ASAP. UPDATE: LPD contacted leader doors on my behalf and arranged replacements, which were perfect. Delivery guy from leader was fab too, I asked him to wait until we'd opened and checked them a which he did despite being really busy - I really appreciated that. Although its been a hassle getting to this point, I am grateful LPD sorted it, and they look gorgeous, I love them. Thanks LPD.

We bought an external door from a local stockist who has previously supplied really solid internal hardwood doors. However, the external door was an LPD door (the others weren’t). We won’t be buying another LPD door because: the veneers are paper thing; the wood ‘frays’ like balsa wood and; even after careful sanding, leaves splinters which catch on the vacuum and brushes; the wood is covered in glue/filler which means the stain we use covers patchily and, having spent so much time accurately chiselling and drilling out for hinges and the lock I’m so disheartened to see that, based on other reviews, this door probably will deteriorate quite rapidly and not last 30 years like the door it’s replacing. Leeds is a great place and Leeds Plywood Doors does it a disservice. In future I’ll read reviews before buying and will be providing feedback to the company who sold us this door too.

My doors were delivered and left in waiting for my carpenter. When he opened them 2 out of 3 were damaged. When I reported them to he supplier I was told that LPD won’t do anything because it’s more than 3 days! How unrealistic to assume that a workman will be waiting for their delivery to start straight away and then to tell me I could have damaged them?! How, when they’ve been in their “protective wrapping” until now? Had I opened them in the hallway and then waited for them to be carried up the stairs naked would they not be more likely to get damaged??? I’m stuck with defective doors and not even a partial refund to compensate for the very bad taste left in my mouth… avoid these people!

will probably have to take them to the small claims court, as they missold the items - wrong colour, poor quality material, stained and chipped everywhere...

We purchased the perfect door for our living room and the door was delivered very quick and the communication on our delivery was fantastic, however I checked the door ASAP which was the following day only to find the door was badly damaged which is such a shame as the door is perfect for our needs. My wife made contact via email and attached photos of the damage. We are now 2 weeks on and numerous phone calls where my wife just keeps getting the same answer " sales team will contact you " all we ask is that the damaged door is exchanged for a good one !! Very disappointed so far

I have purchased many LPD doors as a Supplier and Customer having used them in my own home. The service to sort out any issues was spot on and never seems to be a problem. Unfortunately sometimes things don't go plan and mistakes can happen and this will and does happen with many other companies and always will but they get rectified in as quick as possible in my experience. I have noticed LPD have been given poor reviews by some people BUT it is down the distributor they have the issue with NOT LPD as LPD don't supplier to retail customers Direct. i thought that should be noted when people read them.

I have recieved a really poor service recently. I ordered 8 pre finished doors, which regrettably weren't inspected upon delivery - the doors didn't have corner protectors on them and were covered with only thin plastic sheeting. Being 5"3 and given the doors are alot taller than me, I didn't want to take them out and risk damaging the doors, I also wouldn't have expected them to be in such a state. So I have had them stood in a room awaiting my joiner to hang them. Now my joiner came a few days ago and I was very disappointed to learn every door is either blemished with black marks, the grain is tarnished in some areas due to being sanded down and there are either chips or indentations on every one! Overall not a great experience as a new customer and with the cost associated. So I contacted Leader Doors who advised me to send an email with pictures, I have but little has been done to arrange a swift replacement. So I contacted LPD today with the hope I may receive a better service dealing directly with the supplier. I was wrong. Was advised to go through Leader, I explained I had done and they had emailed LPD but nothing back since? I gave my details and was told an order couldn't be located on the system, I ordered the end of July but was informed after my transaction had been completed, they weren't in stock but that's another story! So I questioned why my order can't be tracked, to then be told that the sales team dont work weekends so there is no way to track the order!? No compassion for what has happened or effort to go over and above for a customer, just plain uninterested an unhelpful!

I wouldn’t bother wasting your time. Notification from PayPal to say they refunded my order the day after I purchased. No communication or explanation as to why. Absolute dreadful customer service and disappointing to say the least.

We've recently ordered two doors from LPD and have been really impressed with the quality of the doors and the speed of the delivery, they both arrived soon after ordering!

Be warned! LPD are absolutely fantastic at one thing LIP SERVICE. We ordered our doors through Expessdoorsdirect (who now trade as Vibrant Doors) in January. We were originally told (before placing the order) and reassured the doors were in stock only to see delivery date after delivery date pass us by. We have spoken to LPD customer services both directly and indirectly with no acknowledgement of the delays or apology. One minute they are at Felixstowe port, the next week they haven’t left Asia and there’s a delay with shipping are just three of the many excuses. Promises of a callback with an update to no avail again and again. LPD claimed that the container ship was to dock on a certain date more than three times, then emailed to say there will now be further delays. I’ve never dealt with such a cowboy operation. LPD will reply to this review with some excuse about COVID, or Brexit or the Suez Canal fiasco. They will almost certainly say it’s the distributors problem. Vibrant doors have now suggested we order an alternate style, great if we hadn’t already taken delivery of a glazed version of the door from another distributor.

Disappointing Quality Purchased one door pair, Oak Pattern 20 Glazed unfinished in Engineered Oak with clear glass, from an LPD distributor (who were fine), but the doors and instructions were not of the standard expected. The oak veneer along the rebated edge is poor and badly matched. After preparing and staining it is harder to see, but poor when looked at closely. No data on the doors is available on their website or brochure so there is no information provided as to how much trimming is available to the top, bottom and one side. Inexcusable. There is no helpful advice on the glass fitted. When staining there was some seepage on the masking tape which I resolved with a brand new window scraper, having done this many time before. There are now hundreds of tiny scratches on the glass panel which looks awful in certain light. Helpful care instructions would have been useful not least stating the type of glass. There is nothing on glass care in the limited care instructions. I only chose LPD as they were first to be in stock. I have no idea how the other manufacturer would have been other than their glass is specified and covered in film to protect and aid staining. Other than that the doors are sturdy and true, but mar and major room makeover.

A number of LPD doors were specified and ordered via one of their distributors. Incorrect doors were delivered by LPD and on the advise of the distributor new doors were ordered and paid for whilst the incorrect doors returned. To date the distributor has not refunded the money for the incorrect doors despite assurances given when reordering. LPD have confirmed receipt of the returned doors. The distributor do not return calls or emails and now this is having to be recovered via legal action. LPD have a duty of care to ensure their distribution partners act honestly and with integrity. LPD doors will not be specified on future projects until they can evidence a reliable and honest distribution network.

Over the past 4 years I’ve had 18 LPD 4panel Nostalgia doors and can clearly see the decline in finish quality during that time. The last 4 had obvious filler patches on the panel trim which hadn’t been finished properly. The edge veneer on some of these four was noticeably lighter thus making it harder to stain down. When I notified the company they said ‘take it up with your supplier’! Yeah, like the supplier manufactured the doors did he?! Just received a Downham and the glazing trim had been tacked on with 25mm brads which makes it hard to glaze without damaging the scotia when removing. Well done LPD.

I ordered my doors from LPD on the recommendation of a friend, to say I am happy that I took his advice is an understatement! My 11 doors arrived as advised and the driver couldn’t have been more helpful carrying them all into my garage as I had recently hurt my back! The joiner I had employed to hang the doors was delighted with the quality and I have to say that they look great now they are all hung. Thank you LPD I will certainly recommend you now myself

When we received our LPD internal doors, to say we were disappointed is an understatement. There were many basic issues with the doors which we hoped that, with a supposedly reliable supplier like LPD, we would not encounter. However, this was not the case, and quite frankly, for the ridiculous prices of the doors, we were quite frustrated at the quality of both the product and the service. We had the doors mounted by a professional joiner, however immediately we noticed that the veneers were too thin and peeling off of the edges of the door and they looked shoddy to say the least. When we contacted the supplier, we were immediately met with hostility and excuses. Although we noticed the faults on the day of installation, instead of receiving any sort of guidance or help, we were blamed for “damaging” the doors when we received them. As of now, I still remain unsure as to how we could have possibly managed to damage the veneers of all six of our doors. In all honesty, these doors are not fit for purpose, are extortionately priced for their quality and the customer service of this company is non-existent. What I need is compensation or doors to replace these faulty products, seeing as they claim to have a 10 year warranty on all products, but judging by the manner in which our concerns have been handled so far, I am unsure if my issues will even be acknowledged. Updated to the reply received on 30/03/2021 We did contact our supplier “Blackburn Floors and Doors“ Immediately however they advised we cannot do anything about the doors as they have been unpacked! Please advise as 2 of the doors are really badly warped.

After 5 years the Lpd solid oak exterior door has badly warped. I contacted the joiner who advised I contact Lpd doors, but he said 'don't expect them to uphold your 10 year warranty! I contacted Lpd but they will not deal with a customer - you have to go via a supplier, which I did and after 2 months of emailing, sending photo's, invoices, and proof of using the special products as stated for the door by the joiner and the stockist, I now have been told they will not uphold the 10 year warranty and the matter is closed!! I am supposed to have used incorrect products and rain has caused the door to warp... Lpd did not send anyone out to check the problem - they said the person was furloughed ,sounds like an excuse and their exterior doors are not made for external use. We NEVER used Yacht varnish, not sure where Lpd got that from as we only used Sikkens Cetol ( which they recommedned) for exterior use, and we did maintain the door as recommended.
