Legacy Pets Cremation Services Ltd Triple Award Winning Pet Crematorium: "The North West Business Awards - Best Customer Service 20/21" "Prestige England Awards - Pet Crematorium of The Year 20/21" “Made in Manchester’s Team of The Year 2022” "Greater Manchester Business Awards 2022 - Innovative Business During Covid-19" --- Our Story: After the passing of our family cat Barney in 2011, we parted with our baby boy at our local vet and waited in earnest for his return home. It would be over two weeks before we had our boys remains returned to us, leaving us emotionally exhausted but otherwise delighted to have him home. We were dismayed to discover that our boy had been cremated only 3 days prior, according to his certificate of cremation. We were left wondering, where had our Barney been in all that time? With the coming of our darling family dogs 14th birthday, the topic of preparing for Maggie’s passing brought memories of our passed experience flooding back, and we vowed to honour her with a dignified cremation, right here in her home town of Bury. We recognised the need for a compassionate, local pet cremation service that offers bereaved pet owners the peace of mind that their pets will be treated with the utmost respect, will be revered every step of the way and are returned to their families swiftly so that they may all find comfort and closure in their pets passing. With that Legacy Pets was founded, dedicated to providing compassionate support to each and every family we serve. We provide a beautiful and serene environment to say your final goodbyes and offer a range of hand selected urns and keepsakes for you to cherish. --- 24/7 Collection - In the unfortunate circumstance that your pet passed away, we offer a service to your home. I can’t thank legacy enough for the amazing service that my husband and myself received when our dog Jack passed. The whole process is beautiful.
My dog storm passed away on 08/02/2024 and it broke my heart. legacy pets were brilliant they were kind and respectful to me and they treated storm with the dignity and respect he deserved. Not even 48 hours after he passed I was able to collect his ashes and bring him home where he belongs. Thankyou.
It’s never going to be easy losing your best friend But the service from Legacy is first class. My girl Bella was put to sleep at home on her own bed by Legacy own Vet & transported to the crematorium still wrapped in her favourite blanket. On meeting the people at Legacy you can tell straight away that they are going to take good care of your pet. Karen & her staff made the experience as stress free as possible. Thank you for the care you gave Bella & myself. Maurice

Would like to say a massive thank you to the caring staff at Legacy pets. Sadly our pet dog Alfie of 16 years passed away in the early hours of Christmas Eve 2023. I contacted Legacy regarding cremation & they pulled all the stops out to have him cremated on Christmas eve & to have his ashes back home for Christmas. Everything was done with care and reverence and we couldn't have asked for a better service anywhere else.
We lost our beloved boy Dexter suddenly within contacting Legacy they had arranged everything and collected our precious dog with kindness and compassion. Couldn't wish for a better send of. Thank you for everything..
I’m so glad that I knew of Legacy Pets! My darling Tia (cat) passed away yesterday and we dropped her off at the crematorium. The staff member who greeted us was kind and compassionate. Today, we’ve received her ashes in a small white urn and she’s coming home for Christmas. Thank you Legacy Pets for your services, Tia meant the world to us and you’ve done her a wonderful service. If you’re considering Legacy Pets, please do!
Lost my best friend of 14 years on Tuesday and after such an awful experience with the vets we decided to give legacy pets a ring, I couldn’t recommend them enough! Such lovely people and very supportive through the whole process, Thank you for making an utterly devastating time a little bit more bearable.
After losing our French Bulldog Sergio on Tuesday 5th December. I rang Legacy pets on Wednesday morning they were extremely considerate and sympathetic. We decided as a family what we wanted for Sergio , everything was well organised and they kept me updated at every step. We picked Sergio up on Saturday and Norma in the shop was so lovely caring and friendly. What a wonderful local business and I would recommend them to anyone who faces the heartbreak of losing their pet.
Our boy kitty had to be put to sleep on Saturday at the young age of 3. I can’t recommend Legacy Pets enough! They provided an incredibly patient and empathetic service and made this devastating time that little bit easier. Our boy was back home within 24 hours and was looked after with care. Cannot thank you enough for your kindness, it really does help. <3
From the first time contacting legacy pets when our family cat died very suddenly to picking up his ashes, they were full of empathy and the most patient and caring people. The love and attention they gave our boy and us as a family was second to none. Thank you for making an incredibly painful experience that little bit more bearable and allowing us to have special things to remember him by. Can’t recommend this company enough.
Many thanks to the Legacy Pets team for their care and service following the death of Missy (our black lab). We could easily have followed our vets lead and used their in-house service but Legacy Pets were recommended and handled everything with care and empathy, returning our pet’s ashes within 48 hours. If you’re considering this tough decision, please review their website.
We cannot thank the team at Legacy Pets for an utterly phenomenal service. From the moment I had to make that phone call that no owner want to make to having our boy Bru bought back home to us everyone has only showed us kindness and compassion. An extra special thank you to Claire and Justin who will always hold a special place in our hearts. They treated our beautiful boy with so much respect, dignity and care. The thought of having to say our final farewell to our precious boy on the floor of a vet office crippled us. Thankfully Legacy Pets was recommended to us and Bru was able to pass at home peacefully in his favourite spot. The attention to detail is incredible even to ensuring the fur clippings we received back contained all three colours of his coat. Thank you for making an utterly devastating time a little bit more bearable. Mel and Andy xx
Legacy pets was fantastic from the very start. Our beloved dog had unfortunately deteriorated from illness and we couldn’t leave him suffering any longer. We rang Legacy pets on recommendation from our vets to do a home euthanasia and they did their absolute best to fit us in on the same day we rang. We left it with them and they got back to us pretty quickly to say they had managed to arrange a vet later that day. The vet that came James was fantastic and very empathetic, he took time to stroke and chat to our boy before anything else happened. He talked us through everything he would be doing and exactly what we could expect to happen so that we weren’t shocked are alarmed in anyway. He was very caring with our boy throughout the whole process and made it easier for us. Once James had told us our boy was at peace he then told us to take as long as we needed with him before the van would take him away. Once we were ready, we called the lovely man in the van to come in and collect our boy. He asked if we were sure we were ready and if we needed more time as he would happily wait as long as we needed. He came in and spoke to us and reassured us that our boy would be in good hands. He didn’t rush us and took things at our pace. He was very kind and calming in his manner and you could tell he cared about our feelings and our boy over anything else. The staff on the phone have also been lovely and kind. I cannot praise this company enough and the service they provide is certainly worth every penny. Thank you!
Legacy Pets are absolutely top notch. Recently used them after the passing of my pet. At every stage I was treated with care, understanding and professionalism. The same care was given to my pet which I know all pet owners need during what is an upsetting time for us. Got my boy home now knowing he was treated with the ultimate respect and love during the process. Thank you so very much. Gareth
Me and my family couldn't thank the staff at Legacy Pets over the past 24 hours you have delivered us the best and efficient care as we said our goodnight to Benji. Claire the vet who came to our home was very understanding and reassuring during this difficult and emotional time. Benji was taken from us and brought back in just over 24 hours. Legacy Pets made this whole experience that little more comforting for us. Thank you to all at Legacy Pets Benji can now rest in his forever sleep. X
My baby girl went to sleep at home on Saturday by Jack the vet surrounded by her family and I can't thank legacy enough for looking after her sean come to pick her up and told us to take are time to bring her out I got a phone call to say she was back at legacy and today Monday my girl has come back home I would definitely use them again and want to thank you all for looking after my girl pippin
I lost my boy 14 months ago, it is still very raw, yes the initial contact was good, everything was explained to me, ie dates and times, my boy was brought home the next day. The driver delivered my boy handed him over to me and asked, " how do you want to pay"!! You can imagine how distraught I was ,I walked away in tears holding the bag, my husband spoke to the driver, who then whipped out a card machine for my husband to pay. How incredibly insensitive this action was, asking grieving fur parents to 'pay' on the door step!. My Daughter did ring your company the following day, to express how unprofessional this individual behaved, and yes it fell on deaf ears. I understand that paying for services at this incredibly emotional time is hard, but whipping out a card machine on the door step is unacceptable. As I have stated previously, it has been 14 months since we lost our boy, and its only now I felt I could leave a review, still raw, still heartbroken, card machine on door step!!! A big NO
Our 17 year old Sprocker Spaniel Mollie had reached the end of her life. We chose Legacy Pets because we wanted to do the right thing for our baby to make sure she passed in the comfort of her home with peace and dignity. I must say we could not have asked for anything more to lay Mollie to rest. The staff from Legacy Pets were brilliant including James the vet. Both me and my wife have been heart broken, however the kindness, empathy and attention to detail which Legacy Pets provided was reassuring to know that Mollie was in very good safe hands. The service was absolutely first class from start to finish. I would definitely recommend this company - very professional, efficient, acting with total integrity and care dealing with our requirements and above all looking after our Mollie for us. Thank you so much Legacy Pets, we are are forever grateful for what you did for our Mollie.
When my Sootie passed away unexpectedly I was devastated and couldn't bear the idea of burial. I found Legacy Pets and had an appointment within 2 hours. When I took him in, I really felt that he was cared for by the lovely woman who received him into her care. I had time to say goodbye and tell her about him. Sootie had to stay with them for a few days because it was the weekend, but in that time he was cleaned and snuggled in a blanket in a bed- no clinical, cold boxes at Legacy. Losing an animal family member is always going to be heartbreaking, Legacy Pets made it just that little bit easier.
