About Legacy Pets Cremation Services

Legacy Pets Cremation Services Ltd Triple Award Winning Pet Crematorium: "The North West Business Awards - Best Customer Service 20/21" "Prestige England Awards - Pet Crematorium of The Year 20/21" “Made in Manchester’s Team of The Year 2022” "Greater Manchester Business Awards 2022 - Innovative Business During Covid-19" --- Our Story: After the passing of our family cat Barney in 2011, we parted with our baby boy at our local vet and waited in earnest for his return home. It would be over two weeks before we had our boys remains returned to us, leaving us emotionally exhausted but otherwise delighted to have him home. We were dismayed to discover that our boy had been cremated only 3 days prior, according to his certificate of cremation. We were left wondering, where had our Barney been in all that time? With the coming of our darling family dogs 14th birthday, the topic of preparing for Maggie’s passing brought memories of our passed experience flooding back, and we vowed to honour her with a dignified cremation, right here in her home town of Bury. We recognised the need for a compassionate, local pet cremation service that offers bereaved pet owners the peace of mind that their pets will be treated with the utmost respect, will be revered every step of the way and are returned to their families swiftly so that they may all find comfort and closure in their pets passing. With that Legacy Pets was founded, dedicated to providing compassionate support to each and every family we serve. We provide a beautiful and serene environment to say your final goodbyes and offer a range of hand selected urns and keepsakes for you to cherish. --- 24/7 Collection - In the unfortunate circumstance that your pet passed away, we offer a service to your home. My beautiful girl was a very poorly girl and legacy pets organised home euthanasia, which for me was the only way I wanted her to go, in her own home, on her own bed, with everything familiar around her, then they collected her, and she was treated with as much care by them as I had given her throughout her life, I wouldn't choose another place to send my girl on her final journey, such absolute love and care given to her, you can tell they do what they do out of love, it shows..she is now back home with me where she belongs, couldn't recommend legacy pets enough thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We sadly lost our cat Bonnie 12 months ago today and we have been reflecting on the treatment she received during her battle with cancer over the final weeks and months of her life. Legacy Pets worked in a seamless way with our home visit vet Pets Relaxed, and it seemed that just moments after Bonnie passed Legacy Pets were there ready, however we were not rushed during any part of the process. They made sure they waited outside until we were ready. Collection of Bonnie for the cremation was compassionate, caring and deeply considerate. Bonnie was allowed to be transported wrapped in her own bedding, and we were even allowed to request certain music to be played during the cremation. They also reassured us that Bonnie would remain in their chapel of rest and her favourite music played while she stayed with them. Timeframes for the whole process was excellent, and Bonnie was back with us within days, in an urn of our choosing, accompanied with a beautiful candle, a heartfelt note, and bereavement support for ourselves. Communication was excellent the whole time, and Legacy Pets made the emotional and traumatic process as easy and dignified as possible. It also made such a big difference that Bonnie would be cremated on her own, and not with other animals, as some cremation services apparently do. We were deeply thankful to Legacy Pets for their compassion, care, and dignified manner, and we could not recommend them highly enough.

The whole process of collecting my dog for cremation and returning his ashes, was extremely efficient. However I need to mention that within three hours of my pet being euthanized, I had a phone call from Legacy Pets. I found this intrusion on my grief too pressurised. Surely a message, sent first would have warned me. Although the services are efficient, they didn't comfort me. Nobody even offered their condolences , next day when I had to ring. I feel the whole process was rushed.

Thank you so much to Legacy Pets for a gold standard service from beginning to end. All the staff I encountered were highly professional, compassionate and caring. The service provided is so valuable and they made a very difficult time much more bearable. Most importantly theygave me the opportunity to give my girl the peaceful passing she deserved in her own home. She was treated with care and dignity and I will be forever grateful. I would highly this company and the service they provide.

When my beautiful girl, Fleur (lop rabbit), passed I was absolutely heartbroken and they made the process of getting her cremated so very easy and hassle free. From the initial phone call they were empathetic, kind and caring. We had Fleur picked up and dropped back off to us. The guy who came was so lovely and caring I just knew my girl was in safe hands. He was so respectful to her and gave her dignity in her final journey. I could not recommend a better place for your furbabies to go for the final journey. Thank you so much Legacy

After our girl passed we spoke to Karen on the out of hours number, this was at around 2:45 am she was happy to speak with us and advise us on services they provide, and offered to come out as soon as they collected our girl and really put me and my family at ease ,we explained that we never left our girl alone , and she promised to look after her she, even invited us up to collect her remains and went through the procedure with us it was really touching to hear how she spoke to our girls remains and she understood that she wasn’t just a basset hound , she was our baby.we opted for a special service that meant we was able to have her back home the following day, this meant so much to us , everyone we spoke to was fantastic it’s not easy trying to find the right things to say , but honestly they all was fantastic, we offered a small tip but it was politely refused and instead asked us to leave a review ❤️thankyou so much to Karen and her team , you really are amazing 🙏🏻🙏🏻

The service they provide is 2nd to none. Everybody we dealt with were so professional and caring. The man who came to collect Saskia was wonderful. He explained everything that would happen and really put my mind at rest. The lady who was there at Bury when I collected her ashes was amazing. She told me how they'd looked after her and treated her with respect. She gave me the most amazing hug when I broke down. Can't thank them enough for looking after her. The presentation pouch and certificate just finished off the fantastic service.

I cannot recommend Legacy Pets enough. They toon the hardest part of my life and guided me through it with compassion and empathy. It’s took me from November to be able to write this review and I would advise anyone who is thinking of saying goodbye to their pet to consider using Legacy. Ane Follestad was the vet who came to our house and honestly I can’t describe how well she handled the situation. She put our minds at ease and reconfirmed we were making the right decision in saying goodbye. The whole team are incredible from initially enquiring right the way through the process, guiding and advising our family. Please continue your work in making a horrible time in someone’s life that easier. From the bottom of our hearts Legacy thank you!

Cannot thank them enough for their care and compassion. We lost our 10 year dog and the from the first contact with legacy pets they were so kind and kept us informed. When we collected our dog, we were invited to sit and asked about our Ted. This helped us so much the genuine care made this painful experience far less distressing. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately my 14 and Half Springer Spaniel had to be put to sleep at our vet’s on Thursday. The pet cremation service that our vets use just didn’t look right for me and seemed just a corporate service. So I did some research and unfortunately in West Yorkshire there isn’t a service like found with Legacy, I contacted them to see if they collected from the Leeds area as they are based in Bury and a lovely lady spoke to me initially made me feel at ease and I knew I wanted to use them there was no hard selling on the phone and she talked me through the process. The morning after Sam was at peace, the Legacy team phoned me to say they have collected Sam from the vets and that he was being looked after by their team now. The day after this I received another call from Legacy telling me the cremation process was about to start, I felt updated every step of the way and felt the service was second to none. I have just been to collect Sam from Legacy and was welcomed by a lovely lady in there shop who took us through to a nice seating area and we talked a little about Sam and about the process and I knew that I’d chosen the right company to care for Sam on his final journey. I would highly recommend Legacy Pet Cremation for any pet parent. Thank you for caring for Sam on his final journey over his Rainbow bridge.

Legacy pets are kind, caring and so understanding in any help you may require. The Vet Siobhan was wonderful, explained everything to us and didn't rush. She made sure Mia was comfortable at all times and was very reassuring to us as a family saying goodbye. The team who took her away were very sympathetic and kind.

I got him back 24 hours later which was so nice. Thank you to all who dealt with us, you made what was an awful sad day easier xx
