Oh dear! I ordered a Peugeot Pepper mill for my husband for Christmas. On opening it he realised that it is missing a washer and so will not work properly. I sent an email on 30th December with my order no, which I then chased with a call a few days later. The young woman on the phone was a little curt and told me that they had a backlog of email to answer and that I was the 10th in line and would have to wait. I was a little surprised by this as I would at the very least expected some kind of apology. I then received an email on 6th January from Lucy asking whether the machine works or doesn't work at all. I replied the same day to say that it wouldn't work properly as it is missing a component. I haven't heard back, it's now the 9th and they aren't picking up calls. I am within my statutory rights to have a replacement or refund. I had said on the phone we would accept a missing washer & now wonder why I was so obliging!! Placed a business order for a knife on 9th December. Heard nothing for 2 weeks, despite paying £4.99 for delivery. I contacted the company on 23rd December to ask why we hadn't received it and they informed me that our order was on hold as they had not been able to verify the age of the buyer with their automatic checks. At no point had anybody contacted us to inform us of this so had I not contacted them we would be none the wiser. I replied to their email asking for verification on whose ID they needed to see a copy of as I was not the person within the business who placed the order. I asked if my ID would be ok as I had it to hand. There reply simply told us they needed ID verification. I replied again asking if mine would be ok and to ask for the postage to be refunded as by that point we had been waiting nearly 3 weeks for the order. They replied saying they would not refund the postage and yet again not confirming whose ID they needed to see. At this point I gave up trying to resolve it with them and asked for a refund. Since then there has of course been radio silence and 4 weeks on they still have our money and we have no order. Very poor service. Ignoring customers when they request money back for an order they haven't received is not going to get you repeat custom.
