More than 10,000 students have learnt Spanish at Vamos, many of whom have stayed with us and advanced to higher levels. We currently have more than 1,000 students studying online and in October ’21 we opened our schools again in Islington and Valencia. But we will always continue to run online courses as well. Vamos has been a Zoom partner since August 2019 and during that time we have refined our teaching techniques to ensure our online courses offer the same high standard of teaching and fun, classroom experience that make this school so popular. Our teachers have also created inventive ways to bring our community together with extra fun learning activities, some of which are free. We’re teaching every level of the Common European Framework (CEFR) with a team of around 30 teachers all of whom are experienced native speakers qualified in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. In July 2020 we launched our young learner courses for GCSE and A level. They’re fun and interactive and aligned to Edexcel and AQA exam boards. The reason so many of our students stay with us is a combination of our high standards of teaching and friendly, sociable atmosphere; our wide choice and continuity of courses; online support and learning resources, and our uniquely flexible approach.
A friendly and welcoming Spanish school that has a large number of students enrolled in classes at varying levels. I was particularly keen to study here as many Spanish groups only really cater for beginner and elementary levels, and I had found in the past that a lot of my courses simply wouldn’t run beyond a certain level as not enough students would enrol. Vamos at least has courses for intermediate levels, which I am currently working my way through, with the possibility to go on to higher levels if I and the rest of my cohort make it that far. There are a number of tutors - all native speakers - with differing approaches to their classes, so it’s worth trying a few different classes (it seems to be easy enough to switch) till you find your best fit. The course material is standard - it’s quite focussed on grammar, so a typical lesson structure will often just consist of a new set of verb conjugations followed by a worksheet practising them (although you do get plenty of speaking practice too). More varied written assignments or using the language to explore aspects of culture or history in the classes would be welcomed.
Nuria has been an exceptional Spanish teacher who created a welcoming and enriching learning environment. Nuria designed interactive, fun classes utilizing role-playing, authentic materials, and constructive feedback to immerse me in real-world situations. Beyond just language, she provided invaluable cultural insights that allowed me to appreciate the richness of Spain. Thanks to Nuria's dedication and personalized approach, I now have the confidence and excitement to attend a football medical conference in Madrid and to speak some words that I have learnt! Nuria is not just an excellent language instructor, but a committed mentor who genuinely cares about her students' growth and success. I highly recommend her, muchas gracias Nuria!
I've completed with Vamos 6 levels. The teachers are amazing, especially Alba and her classes are particularly interesting and fun. The reason I had to take a break was no available catch up classes in my last two levels, so I got behind and didn't feel I can catch up anymore. There is also no brakes between levels. The owner, Russell is rude and I didn't want to support this school anymore. They stopped supplying printed materials, which I couldn't always print myself.
They split the learning content in such small portions, in order to have lots of levels ..because for each level you have to pay £220 or so, and because of this, you end up learning the bare minimum in each class. They also don't do refunds. Waste of my time and money. I now have a private tutor from Languatalk and have learned tons more in a short period of time and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg either!
This was my 4th class with Vamos!, and it was excellent as always. Cristina is such a wonderful and super fun teacher! Time in class just flies by while learning so much at the same time. Muchas gracias!
¡Vamos! has been very beneficial for me. The classes moved at a pace that pushed me but didn't overwhelm
Prior to this course I had only learnt Spanish independently. The courses I've had with Sonia have been amazing. She is a wonderful and patient teacher. Learning in a group classroom setting has also really helped. I would recommend this course to anyone and everyone :)
I love learning Spanish with Vamos; now it's been almost three years and I only speak Spanish when travelling to Spain, including making all reservations etc. The teacher (Sonia) is fantastic, patient, always happy to answer questions and explain things in detail.
I have been with Vamos since 2015! Teachers are excellent and students are also good to study with. The content delivery and structure of the courses are excellent.
great teachers, I've started with level 2 (middle A1) last year and will now start level 6 (end A2) next week - I can clearly see how much my Spanish has changed! love their style of their courses, both in person and online.
It was a fun environment to learn. The teacher, Alba was so enthusiastic and encouraged everyone to get involved. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is starting to learn Spanish!!
The classes were great, but their admin sadly less so. After completing a very enjoyable revision class last year, I signed up for the next level for this term. At the last moment I was emailed to say my selected day didn't have enough students so they were moving me to a Monday instead. As I can't do Mondays, I emailed to ask what the alternative was. After a week of trying to get a response, I was rudely told that I'm not entitled to a refund unless I returned the course materials (at my expense). I didn't ask them to send me the materials before they knew they didn't have enough students to fulfil the class, and not giving me any refund until they get their books back is absolutely out of order and, concerningly, not even mentioned in their terms & conditions. It was not my fault that the class had to be changed and don't feel its fair that I am being penalised for it. Very unfortunate that there is no way I can trust booking with Vamos again (even if i do finally get my refund!), as the tutor and the course I completed last time was fantastic and I was looking forward to returning.
I have been studying with Vamos for almost one year now, taking in person classes in London. Its a great school and I would recommend for anyone looking to learn Spanish, I have made so much more progress with my Spanish in that last one year than I did the previous two years trying to teach myself. Both teachers I've had Tatiana and Vicky have always been friendly and enthusiastic about teaching. The classes are fun, well organised and a good mix of speaking, listening and writing. Some extra bonuses are that the school has a nice website where you can review a summary of each class and homework details. It's also possible to take a catch up class if you need to miss a lesson for holiday or any other reason. You can just arrange to join another class for the same lesson you missed, this is a great feature so you don't fall behind. Definitely give Vamos a go!
iVamos is a first class Spanish school in the centre of London. The tutors are all very experienced and make the lessons fun and interactive. The written material and textbook provided for the course is extremely well thought out and of high quality. I am thrilled with how much I have learned in only a few weeks!
I enjoyed taking Spanish lessons with Ana very much. And I sincerely recommend іVamos! to anyone who is serious about studying Spanish
I have been a Vamos student since 2015. When I first started I didn't even know how to say "hello"in Spanish. I am fluent in Spanish now and love it when I go to Spain and put my language skills to the test. The lessons are fun, interactive and interesting and I have learnt so much about Spain and South America as well as the language. Great school and the best decision ever made, Thank you Vamos!
I enjoyed every lecture I’ve had during my course. Vicky is a great teacher and she takes her time to answer every question with patience. She makes you comfortable when speaking in Spanish which motivates you contributing in the class. I definitely feel that I have improved my Spanish. I look forward to my next level class with this course.
I have studied with Vamos right from the very start when I couldn't say more than, "Two beers please" in Spanish. They have taken me successfully from Beginner to Intermediate and recently I went to Spain and had full blown conversations with locals. If you want to learn Spanish with an experienced organisation, excellent tutors and with great materials you couldn't do better than Vamos.
A very well structured course which was also expertly delivered. I feel that I have made considerable progress with my Spanish over the 10 week duration and am inspired to move on to the next level. Ana was an excellent teacher - friendly and extremely approachable. The pace was great and I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending the course to others
My Spanish course with Vanessa at Vamos was brilliant. Vanessa is such a passionate teacher, explains things so well and makes the lessons fun. I’m looking forward to enrolling in my next course.
