Disappointed with this. Not all ingredients you need are included in the delivery. Confusing cooking instructions as to what to cook in what order. Works out very expensive.

Fabulous food - great recipes, fab ingredients, great instructions. Beautifully packaged. And our selection led to a fantastic family evening cooking new things, communally. Great all round!

I brought one of the Spanish kits, which overall was very good. Excellent quality of ingredients and instructions easy to follow. The two qualifications are, 1. It would have been nice to mark those elements of the dish that could be prepared in advance. In my cases the mayonnaises. 2. Also to have some suggestions of some accompany. I cooked the Adobo chicken and patatas bravas. Maybe a simple suggestion of. A green salad for summer and green beans for winter, obviously with a Spanish twist.

Wow! Quality of everything top notch, Huge juicy prawns lush, just the chicken wings to go. Superb flavours all round. Excellent value. Can recommend to Asian food lovers.

Taste and value for money: This is my first order with Cookaway. I ordered vegetarian boxes for the Christmas period, which we spent at a remote cottage in Cornwall without access to shops or any other supplies. I was able to use 3 of the 4 boxes ordered (more on this below). The food was all delicious - a real festive treat. It was better than what we could have managed on our own in this remote setting. Cooking time: The actual time taken was reasonable, and the instructions very clear. However, the total time take was easily double that stated in the cards. But two cooks experienced in cooking from scratch and following recipes, had similar observations. Note that many recipes require a blender. Customer service and trustworthiness: We could not use one of the boxes because the main ingredient - two aubergines - were off. Given the serious impact on our Christmas meals and difficulty accessing other food, I was truly dismayed. I immediately provided evidence of bad produce. I was initially rebuffed, but after a series of messages, the company gave us a partial refund of £10. They refused to issue a full refund because… only the aubergines were off... well... it's hard to make aubergine stew without aubergine and the shops were shut! It’s clearly ridiculous. I didn't appreciate the poor produce nor the customer service and this is the reason for my rating. More details: We tried to use part of the box for our starter on Christmas day : the first aubergine was off – less than 48 hours after delivery. This is the time window within which the company guarantees freshness. The second was off by the time we came to our main meal on the 26th. I was truly surprised by this because our weekly veg boxes (from Riverford and Able & Cole) last the week - perhaps only once or twice in the last 2 years. An aubergine in the fridge should manage this, really. And indeed, that’s what they initially thought too: the company had reassured me that the veg should last for the entire festive period. I told them explicitly that we planedn to use the food over the 24-27th period and they explicitly advised it should be fine.

Ordered the Christmas Beef Wellington recipe box and was pleased with the quality of the produce, their use of recyclable packaging and clear labelling. However, considering that that the ingredients were of a high standard i was disappointed to find a vegetable puff pastry rather than an all butter version had been included, as i particularly dislike it and wasn't mentioned under the list of ingredients, but Kaly has assured me that team are looking at addressing this in time for this years festive boxes.

We received a gift voucher for Christmas of £50. As there was 15% off for joining we managed to get 2 meals and only paid an extra 2 pounds. The 1st meal was the beef flatbreads which the product description did not serve Justice. The ingredients were fresh and quality, and 2 beers where included which were not mentioned. We had included a rice side dish but we felt It was too much so we had that for lunch the following day. Again the ingredients were fresh and tasty, recipe easy to follow. Our 2nd meal was a lamb curry for which the meat had 5 days on it, Therefore this is yet to be cooked but I have no doubt it will taste amazing . The food was packaged well, mostly recyclable, and very easy ordering system. My only criticism is the website and product description rs could be much better to show off the products and service.

An excellent service! Where I live, it is difficult to get hold of authentic ingredients, so to be able to cook a Malaysian meal having had all of the hard-to-find ingredients (such as Pandan leaves and Kaffir lime leaves) delivered to my door was wonderful. It was also great that the recipes were not too basic - so many recipe boxes focus on speed and simplicity, but this one really felt as though it respected the food and the cuisine. I will definitely be using The Cookaway again!

The food tasted fantastic! However, one of the sauce pouches had exploded in the box, coating everything in gunk, 2 of the eggs were broken and the recipes needed a bit of checking - both Wellington recipes had glaring errors that we had to deal with on the fly....roll pastry to 1cm thickness?!

We ordered the celebration menu for New Year’s Eve consisting of fillet steak (chateaubriand), sweet potato fries, salad and rhubarb and ginger cheesecake. We were hugely impressed by the quality of the ingredients and how every thing you needed was included. Instructions were simple and easy to follow although we were surprised that nothing was part prepared, having assumed it would be! However, it made it a better cooking experience as we made everything from scratch. One menu card was missing and I contacted the company, not expecting a reply on NYE. Within minutes I received an apologetic email with the card, what fantastic customer service! Highly recommend and will definitely be trying other menus.

The Christmas box was good. However, my partner ordered the box for two people and I ordered the box for four and he received pretty much the exact same box as me for almost half the price so feels like a bit of a con.

Really really pleased with our choice for a Christmas Day dinner box from the Cookaway. It was so easy to follow, we had everything we needed. It was hassle free but with big flavour and looked amazing! Thanks we will be returning customers. :)

Great experience using fresh ingredients with clear instructions . Just took the stress out of Xmas day . Will do it again.

Fabulous meal! Didn’t think the rhubarb was in the box so stewed apples instead. Found them with the leeks so cheesecake with apples and rhubarb! Thank you.
