After seeing these reviews I made a call to bozowi before sending my phone off ... I CAN ONLY THANK THESE OTHER USERS FOR LEAVING REVIEWS!! Depsite entering my IMEI number into their system when requesting the quote ... i was given a price of £231 and rapidly provided with an envelope to send my phone off to them in. The phone call to the <external link removed> number confirmed that (despite my phone being in mint condition and meeting their specified criteria) that I would only be offered £181 for the handset .... a £50 charge to unlock the phone from vodafone!! The lady that I spoke to, despite this not being her fault, was sharp and unsympathetic and could only offer excuses that she soon contradicted when I challenged her. I assume that she is well versed and such conversations are what her 9-5 day consists of. THIS IS DISGUSTING ... IF THEY OFFER ONE PRICE FOR IPHONES ON A NETWORK AND ONE PRICE FOR PHONES THAT ARE UNLOCKED THEN THIS SOULD BE CLEAR AND OPTION THAT IS SELECTED AT THE POINT OF QUOTATION. It is also strange that no other recycling companies opperate this ridiculous policy. I have recycled phones with <external link removed> and also <external link removed> and i was credited the amount that they quoted in a reasonable time. I am only glad that I called before I sent my phone, or else I would have paid £7 to ship my phone to them and then a £10 charge that they apply to request my phone be returned once I would have received the insulting offer of £50 that is far less than their competitors. I suspect that this company operate this policy so that they are the cheapest company in the compare polls ... yet they never have any intention of giving this price ... and then they make a profit of at least £3 even if you request your phone back. By definition they are an unrepeatable company.
Like the last reviewer I have never written an online review of a company before so goes to show how angry I am at the service I have received, I only wish I'd seen all the bad reviews before I chose to use them and saved myself from being completely ripped off I have recycled two iphones in the past with a different company and received perfect service, received exactly the same amount I was quoted and received my money quickly. I chose to use Bozowi this time because it offers the highest amount and claims the same level of service I have received before - DO NOT BE FOOLED YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE THIS AMOUNT FOR YOUR PHONE! My phone was sent off in good condition, followed all of the critieria for a fully working phone iphone 4s in good condition and I was quoted £239.50 - I have received (although its not actually in my account yet) £159 because it was locked to O2 - this was not made clear to me when I entered the contract and I can see from reviews on here that they have only just changed their website this week to say that. I spoke to a guy in customer services who also said their terms and conditions had been changed on the website this Tuesday 12th March - my contract was formed on the 26th February The thing that has made me even more angry is that I was supposed to receive an email from them with the revised offer of £150 which I never received so I did not have the opportunity to decline their offer and get my phone back. They claim to have emailed me although my IT department have traced all emails and would be notified if anything was blocked for whatever reason and nothing has tried to come through from them - I received my confirmation email from them no problem but conveniently this one never arrived in my inbox or even made it to the server. Bozowi customer services response to this was that it is my responsibilty to make sure my email is working and I had 7 days to accept or decline to the email I never received so it is my problem. I agree that my email is my responsibility which is why I had emailed them to tell them I hadn't heard anything from them and asked what was going on with my account - this email was sent to them within the 7 days they were supposed to wait for me to accept or decline the offer so they basically knew I hadn't received the email but continued to process it anyway? One of the three people I spoke to at customer services confirmed that they had received my email so I know this is not another suposed problem with email So in summary, I have received a ridiculously cheap price for my phone nowhere near the quote I agreed to and through no fault of my own have no option to get my phone back and have to just accept this. I made them aware I hadn't received any emails from them and they did nothing, a decent company would see my email, re send the offer email and possibly extend the 7 day rule knowing there had been problems. My phone has now been sent somewhere else apparently and they can't get it back. Don't even get me started on the people they have representing their customer services - I wasted 1 hour 45 minutes on the phone to them to get nothing resolved, no apology just them implying that I am lying and it's not their problem. At times they spoke with attitude, when I commented that I had been on the phone for 20 minutes the girl replied "no 7 minutes actually" in a rude manner to which I pointed out she wasn't the first person I had been put through to so infact it was 20 minutes. I consider myself a very honest person so this whole situation has left me infuriated ans the money hasn't even reached my account!
After comparing several sites this was the one offering most money. It is an extremely easy site to navigate. once I had completed the on line page every step after that was simple and I was fully informed each step of the way. The money arrived in my account as promised. A satisfied customer.
Sent iPhone worth £240 on 4th March via Freepost & 1 week later they claim to have not received the phone. What a coincidence that so many others are having the same problem. It has never taken this long for an item to be received. It's all too easy just to say that it's Royal Mail's fault but the fact that this is happening to SO MANY other people shows that there is definitely something not right here. I notice down in another review, Bozowi say: ''We have had some issues with royal mail recently, where they have stated that they can no longer deliver our freepost due to the contents of them. They have stated that mobile devices are classed under the dangerous goods act and therefore cannot be delivered. This has delayed some orders by a few days as Royal Mail only notified us after we rang them to state we have not received them. We now collect all the freepost from their depot and process them as quickly as possible.'' WHY ISN'T THIS CLEARLY STATED ON THEIR WEBSITE? WHY WASN'T I TOLD THIS WHEN I SPOKE TO SOMEONE FROM BOZOWI YESTERDAY? I've never had a problem with sending phones to other recycle companies before. If i had known that or come across these reviews first, i would NEVER have considered using them. I will make it my mission in life to get to the bottom of this. They definitely haven't heard the last of me. I will be contacting Trading Standards, BBC Watchdog, Which Magazine, the papers, every review site on the net, blogs etc etc
Finding myself short of money recently, I decided to sell a pair of old HTC Desire HDs that I had lying about. As they were both in full working condition, complete, and devoid of any scratches, I was confident that I'd receive the full amount offered - £58.20 each. I wrapped them both thoroughly in bubble wrap and stuck them in the envelope provided, before sending them via recorded delivery. A couple of days later, I was very surprised to receive a message saying that they'd tested the phones and discovered that the back cover of one of them was missing, and that I'd have to accept a £10 deduction for this. I chose not to accept nor decline the offer at this point, as I'd already paid £6 for delivery and would have been charged a further £5-10 for the phones to be returned to me, one of which would now be missing its back cover. Instead, I sent an email querying the missing cover, explaining that they must have mislaid it whilst unpacking or testing the phone. After several days with no response, I sent the same email again, to which they replied claiming to have "placed an investigation" into what I'd said, and that they were "getting together" the results of this. Two days later they debited £106.40 to my bank account - £10 less than the amount I was supposed to receive. I've sent another email asking about this but it's been a week and I've still received nothing. ===UPDATE=== Thanks for the response. There is absolutely no way that I mislaid the cover prior to sending. Before packaging the phones, I removed the back covers of both in order to remove the SIM and memory cards and replaced the covers immediately afterwards. I definitely would have noticed if either cover had been missing it when I was wrapping the phones in bubble wrap. What I suspect must have occurred is that the cover came loose as you removed the phone from its bubble wrap, and that the cover was then discarded along with the bubble wrap. My method of wrapping - which I suspect is quite common - was to encase each phone in several layers of bubble wrap by passing a strip of it laterally around the phone, taping it up tight, and finally taping the top and bottom ends to form a parcel. Given that the back cover of the HTC Desire HD is removed by sliding it downwards, it would be quite easy for it to be pulled off the phone if the top of the bubble wrap parcel was cut open and the phone pulled out - rather than removing all of the tape and unravelling the packaging. I appreciate that data protection and privacy is an issue when checking CCTV footage, but would it be possible for you to confirm that the cover was not discarded along with the bubble wrap as in the above scenario? Furthermore, your response does not address why the payment went ahead without my permission. Your email states: "If no response is received within 7 days, Bozowi will automatically process payment for the specified downgraded amount." Given that I responded via email twice within the 7 day period to raise my objection to the downgraded offer, the payment should not have been automatically processed.
A very fast efficent service. Good clear and simple instructions with the best price on the Web to boot! Although I opted for the slow method of payment by cheque, it arrived in the post the same day BOZOWI notified me via email the payment had been processed. If you are going to recycle your mobile phone then these are the people to use. Thanks Bozowi. Steve Stroud
Thankyou for a very smooth transaction sent phone recorded delivery you received it fri morning email straight away to say you had money in the bank as stated sameday excellent would highly recommened thankyou so much.
I sent a Blackberry curve 8520 to this company with an offer of £54.15. I received the freepost bag which I sent with the phone. After 7 days I received an email stating they had not received my phone so I phoned up the mobile network company and had the phone barred through fear that someone had stolen it. I then treceived an email stating they had received my phone but it did not meet there criteria because the phone was blocked. I printed out their report and sure enough the only thing on the sheet that did not pass was the phone was blocked. I then phoned the network company up and had the phone un-barred. I have now received another email stating that the phone has now not met our criteria because of water damage to the battery and a revised offer of £49.00. Why was the water damage not picked up on the first examination. Now I'm accepting the offer as it is still £9.00 more than another company is offering but there is something dishonest about this company. Put it this way if I don't get the money by the end of this week being 10th March 2013 then the phone is getting barred and I'm prepared to lose the phone just to p*"% this company off. Update I did receive my money before the 10th March 2013, can't help feeling that maybe it was because of this review. All I can say is, if you intend to use this company and your sending an expensive phone don't use the free post service, send it signed for. And Bozowi improve your customer service, actually call back your customer when you say you will. You must strive to reach 5 stars from every customer in all the 10 years I have been in business I have never had one complaint.
20th April 2013 - Finally this week the cheque arrived on the third attempt, sent by recorded post! Not sure what happened to the first two, but it must be down to Royal Mail once again!!!! I haven't cashed it yet, there's the next challenge:-) I get the princely sum of £7 for an old Sony Ericsson, I have to accept that was the agreed amount as I was never sent an email giving me a price, and as I sent it five months ago, I can't remember. Thank you Bozowi for sorting this out, and I have to say it was an interesting transaction. I shall miss our email exchanges which were always polite. Unfortunately I still cannot hand on heart say that I would recommend you to friends or family, or yet even strangers. Bozowi I bid you adieu and hope that you can iron out some of your customer services issues.......
Awful customer service - well; lack of really; no response to emails I have sent - I realise you have a lot of business but at least update the customer portal of your website to show what is happening with the orders! Sent my iPhone off 14th of Feb- Special Delivery with electronic proof of delivery; and no payment or acknowledgement since; over £200 worth of phone I have now lost! Very unhappy. Can't comment on the price received for my phone - because I haven't been given one yet - but reading these reviews and based on the service so far, I am not hopeful. Wish I had gone elsewhere! Edit 05/03/2013 - Although my phone has got lost somewhere in their system; - Bozowi have sent me emails; it appears they have been blacklisted as spam by my email service provider - which has now been amended. Hopefully my phone will be found and this can be rectified soon!
I sent my motorola defy off near the beginning of February, a week later I received an email stating they still haven't received my phone. I emailed them back assuring them I had sent it but to this day, they still haven't replied. I also replied again today but don't expect anything. Absolute disgrace that it is taking so long, this review will be updated when they process the order. UPDATE: Received a phone call from Bozowi today, its funny what a bad review can do for them to react. Why can't they react like this when I email them? I have been advised to phone Royal Mail because allegedly they have lost it. How on earth are Royal Mail going to track it when it was sent in a Freeport envelope? I would have sent it recorded but the phone was only worth £25 and I was selling it for my grandparents. In the future It just goes to show i need to go with the more reputable companies for a lower cost. This just isn't worth it. £25 is not a lot but well worth losing it knowing not to use Bozowi again. Personally I think it's Bozowi that have lost it in processing, from reading previous replies to reviews on here, they mention they dealt with just under 5,000 units over the past few weeks. Could they have possibly lost it? Why can't they admit that they have possibly lost it instead of instantly trying to blame Royal Mail? I have contacted Royal Mail, they said they have no chance of tracking as it was freepost and i can fill in a compensation form. Really not worth my time. Looks like I must admit defeat and lose the £25. I have better things to be doing.
No problems!
really efficient service couldn't ask for better
they were quick to send me the pack but took ages to get the money to me it was atleast 2 weeks.but i got the money in the end
I sent in my iPhone 4S 16GB with an estimated value price of £254. I then received a revised offer from Bozowi of £200 with them stating: 'engineers have tested your phone and have found that your phone has a significant scratches on the unit or screen that does not meet the minor wear and tear criteria. We therefore offer you the revised price below for your phone.' There were most definitely not 'significant scratches' on the phone. But that's fine if they think that, so I rejected the offer to get the phone returned to me. This was on the 6th February - 19 days ago. I have since received no communication from them, I have sent 4 emails - the most recent stating if I do not receive some form of communication from them I will resort to taking further action. I am unable to telephone them as their working hours are finished before mine are. And just to clarify, I check my junk email everyday as well - it hasn't slipped into there either! Would never recommend or use this company for their sheer lack of incompetence and poor customer service. So Bozowi, if you are reading this - I hope this will prompt you to respond and finally return my phone, or revise my offer to the original price you offered. Then maybe we can finally get this matter resolved without having to take it further :) ---UPDATE--- Since writing this review I have been contacted by Bozowi, who apparently have not received any of my emails due to a server issue. Because of my unhappy review my phone has been placed in quarantine until my complaint has been resolved. I was asked to take this review down, however I have refused and said I will update my review accordingly. Upon updating this review I will be receiving a revised phone price, and if I accept this will be paid into my bank account the same day. This has been a long drawn out process, however it looks like I will finally get a resolution, and I am finally happy with the outcome. For this reason I have changed my star rating from 1 to 2. As although they may have had issues with their emails, it should still be understood that the level of communication is considered to be unacceptable. -- FURTHER UPDATE -- After a promise that my money would be with me the next day after I had updated my review, I received nothing. The next day I sent yet again another email to be told that they had been out of the office the previous day and hadn't come in until late the day after that. Why tell me that everything would be sorted the day after our phone call then!? It is now Sunday, almost 1 week after being told I would receive my money and still nothing. I am completely and utterly fed up now and will be refusing to update this review again. This is an absolutely awful company, who lies and does not keep to promises and has no urgency whatsoever about them. I recently sent a different phone to <external link removed> and received payment into my account 2 days later, no hassles. It has been almost a month now. -FURTHER UPDATE- Have since been contacted by a management member, the original member of staff dealing with (or not dealing with) my query quit, I was offered the full phone price and it was paid into my bank account the next day. Thanks to <private data removed> who finally managed to help me in this ridiculous situation, I am now happy that this has all been resolved and I can forget about this horrible experience!
Excellent service! Posted my galaxy s2 off and received full payment two days later. Regular email updates on the progress. Thanks again.
All the people I have dealt with have offered very useful information and were very kind and professional. The only down side I have is that when I placed an offer I got a free post bag about a week later and posted the phone on the same day, it took almost 2 1/2 weeks to arrive at your company and therefor the quoted price was reduced. Although that would have been Royal Mails fault. All in All I am pleased to have done business with you. :-)
Very easy to do, all packaging provided and regular updates. Would use again.
A good company to deal with. Quick responses and good prices. Very easy to do.
