We went to check the Wines Direct shop recently open in Athlone. Staff is very friendly and knows a lot about wine. They have some bottles on offer open for you to taste. Looking forward to the tasting events! We'll be back.
Great spacious shop with good lighting. A very good selection of young wines from various countries and regions too. The friendly staff know what they are talking about which is great help. Got a few bottles so far and never disappointed with some surprising discoveries. White, red, rosé, champagne, proseco etc... Wine tasting coming up too... Great addition to our town of Athlone. This is a lovely new shop, well laid out with a great range of wines from all regions. I found the staff knowledgeable and able to make interesting recommendations. I found several new wines I had not tried before.
