Not apparent that there are excess fees on more expensive bottles. Fees are too high in general as is transport costs. A whisky bought bought for 22 at auction ends up being easily over 33

Can't recommend this company enough. My great uncle passed away and I inherited a large collection of whisky. The team at whisky auction valued it all for free, allowed me to drop it off at their offices for free, took all of the photos for me (and made the bottles look beautiful), and finally transferred me over £1000 as a result of the auctions. I was not expecting more than £100 out of the collection, but the team made sure that each bottle got exactly what is was worth at auction. I will definitely be using the company to sell, or maybe even buy, some whisky for myself. They also auction things other than whisky (despite the title) so they sold all of my cognac's too! Very fair fee's too. eBay charge 10% and they do F*** all. Whisky auction values it, takes photos, lists it and posts it, yet Whisky auction only charge 10% with a £3 listing fee.

This was a very simple and straightforward way to sell whisky and the team could not have been more helpful and courteous. Extremely pleased with the outcome.

Whisky Auction is an excellent company that auctions very rare whisky's, Cognac and fine wines. The website is so easy to use and there are many facilities to make biding very easy and enjoyable, one stands a chance to get a good deal on your favourite tipple. Packing and Postage fees are very good value and very quick to dispatch. I look forward to the next auction. Steve B

Being new to online auctions I was surprised at how easy it was to use and navigate the site, I particularly liked the “Watch” function for a few of my favourite bottles. Overall easy to use, however just remember to stick to your agree budget. Also, upon payment my purchased was promptly dispatched, good packaging and was received ok. In conclusion I will be looking forward to their next auction.

Superb service provided, as usual bottles are much better than expected. Delivery service top notch. Unlike a couple of the other auction houses i.e.,9 DAYS AND STILL NO POSTAL DETAILS. Whisky. Auction are HEAD & SHOULDERS ABOVE THE OPPOSITION.

I have bought whisky on at least 5 European website's over the last 2 years or so. I like whisky.auction First of all because they close each lot separately. Meaning that at auction closure only those bottles on which users are still bidding, will be extended. I like how their auction always seems to include a few other spirits like cognac and or rum. My orders have been packaged well. Two of the other whisky auction websites have become unresponsive during the final part of the auction. No such experience with whiksy.auction. Recently I had to contact customer services. I received an answer less than two hours later. Customer service immediately confirmed they had a made a mistake (people make mistakes.. important is how they solve them!) and offered their apology plus a good solution that costed them 30 euros or so. I think it was excellent.

a chance to buy rarely seen whisky

Ended up selling Three bottles of Whisky that we inherited. All Three sold at just over the bottom valuation (however the boxes weren't in good condition). While watching the auction I decided to bid on some lower value bottles, being successful on three bottles. The bottles arrived two days after payment was made, well packaged. Whisky.Auction were very swift in replying to a valuation request. I dropped the bottles of in London, as they were high value. The staff are all very helpful. The website for the auction is good, allowing me to watch the bids on my bottles. I now await payment for my sold Items. A very good experience.

Having sold my collection in the most recent auction I would like to congratulate you on a fantastic service. You provided the best estimate of all of the auctions I contacted and have to say the estimates were spot on in terms of the range. You kept me informed at every stage of the process and paid me promptly. Overall a very enjoyable experience and I cant fault any part of the service. I only wish I had more whisky to sell but unfortunately for me its a one off.

Very interesting way of purchasing a bottle of Whisky. The variety is just astonishing and managed to save a lot of £££ compared to buying in the supermarket. But you will not see these types anywhere in stores... some are even a once in a lifetime chance to own! I ended up winning 5 items which I am really happy with. Delivered sooner than expected. Couldn't be more happier with my winnings! Will come again!

15% commision a bit greedy,also had to wait longer than anticipated for delivery

The delivery time was very quick after purchasing,the packing was very good but sadly the seal on the lid was broken ,I'm unsure if this occured during packaging or if it was already like that when the bottle was entered in the auction.

Great clear site with a good range of bottles, Commission fees are high so you need to take it into account. I would never sell through here because returns would be lower. but some good buys
