Velorution the home of urban and electric bikes.
Delivery information and after sales support very poor. Bike is beautiful but no assembly manual or instructions with it and no response to phone call or emai for help, Found on-line manual myself. Once you’ve bought the bike that appears to be it. I received review request but no other response!
Very straight forward to order on line, bike was well wrapped and protected and delivery was punctual.
Fantastic service and know-how!
Part of the order never received after zero correspondence and several phone calls from myself I was told item out of stock and not coming. Item refunded. Not great service at all. Won’t be using or recommending.
Well built bike. Good packaging, so bike was received undamaged. Could do with printing the frame no on a card as I had to remove a cable cover to read it on the bike.
Item arrived with 2 parts missing. No communication by email and when I ring the phone number it just rings out. Useless.
Ordered Friday night, delivered Monday morning, good communication throughout, thanks Velorution.
Availability of product and price was good, however delivery is taking a lot longer than expected (ordered 7 Jan and as of 21 Jan still not received).
the guys at Velorution are great - super helpful and knowledgeable. I bought a moustache to replace an orbea è bike that was stolen . new bike is great although it 5kg heavier than my other bike. Would be great if Velorution wd list the weight of è bikes on the specs as it makes a big difference
Happy with the rucksack- comfortable with plenty of space for everything I need.
Good layout on the website, sound what I wanted quickly. Minimum fuss when ordering and quick despatch and delivery
It was great in the end, but it was 10 days between purchase and any notification of when the delivery was ready to collect. I chose collection over delivery for speed, but that didn’t work out. However it was a busy period.
Bought a saddle cover. Well, thought I had. It didn’t arrive within the estimated ‘3 days’. After 7 I emailed. No response. A week later another email, no response. Phoned a week later, not to ‘online’, that’s not available but picked a store. Some twit said he’d look into it and get back to me. He didn’t but an hour later I received an email telling me Royal Mail had my package. DOES THIS COMPANY NOT READ THESE REVIEWS? THEY’RE A GOOD COMPANY WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EVEN LESS COMMUNICATIONS.
Arrived on time fairly priced
This is a review from quite a while ago (the middle of the lockdown). the earliest I could put for a date of experience was November 21 the process actually started when I first purchased the bike in late 2020 but as you’ll see below the experience stretched out over a year or so and I’ve only started to really understand how irresponsible staff were as time has gone on. First a bit of background I am a clinically vulnerable charity worker who lives in outer London and commutes in to central London (I can’t afford to live closer), at the height of the pandemic I got to the point where we need to get into the office a couple of days a week but needless to say didn’t feel safe travelling on the tube, given the distance, and my own health, an electric bike seemed like the only way I could safely get into the office. Velorution Hackney, where the only electric bike store I could find anywhere remotely near me (and even are quite a way out from mine) and when I called up the only bike they could find a suitable for me cost a fortune (around £2500), but I really needed the transport so I was willing to pay it I was quite worried about sizing as they repeatedly stated there was no ability to try it out or go in to get measured up before hand and have to pay upfront and I’d be stuck with what I got but I gave them my measurements and ultimately we settled on a bike. What I didn’t know and now do (from speaking to other electric bike store since) is simply looking at my height and the models bike should have told them what was right for me, I don’t know if they failed to look this up because they were lazy, or because they had some hard to shift stock they wanted to sell…. They where also really slow to confirm they’d receive my money, I spent a long time waiting around with no communication to the point where we started to worry whether there had been some sort of scam (and they were only willing to send written communications confirming the money had been received after a lot of prodding), and they initially tried to deliver the bike (I lived at a block of flats) by just dumping it outside unassembled (when I found out that was the plan I refused and said I’d find a way to pick it up partially for fear it would get stolen but also as I felt I lacked the technical skill to be able to assemble it) when I finally came to collect the bike and it was obviously too big for me I express concerns about the size/frame at the time (including noting I could barely even safely mount it) but they kept reassuring me it was just a matter of getting used to it. I managed to cycle it home by the time I got home I was in agony with hideous cramps on my legs. With what i know now it should have been clear to anyone who knew much about bikes who saw me trying to leave this was not a safe bike for me to ride! One of the times I was trying to get it to work, the handlebars suddenly drops down and I nearly flew off the bike into busy traffic. I took it to a local bike store to see what might be wrong and they explained that basically nothing had been screwed improperly (and were honestly quite shocked), showing the complete disregard Velorution have for safety, I tried to use it a few more times but each time I ended up in horrific pain and ultimately had to abandon using it. I ended up having to risk using the tube/train for about a year, which was terrifying, until I could afford another bike from a different store who unsurprisingly did the sensible thing and check against my height first to order the proper size (that has worked fine ever since), by looking at the details of the bike Velorution had sold me, they were able to confirm it was designed for someone who is 6 foot five (I’m only 6 foot one). Which is of course also making it very hard to resell to recoup some of the loss as it’s rather hard to find someone that height in need of an electric bike, so in short avoid them, if you value your safety, your wallet, or your ability to use actual functioning electric bike.
Good product but Slow delivery
Great fast service my order delivered on time.
My Brompton Barbour City bag arrived in Canada quickly and in perfect condition. It was a very smooth transaction.
Velorution are probably one of London's best bike retailers. I have a Dutch bike from 2006 that probably has 50,000 miles on it and has been bullet-proof, and more recently another German bike - thanks to Devin for the recommendation, guidance and service!
Sent 2 emails, one in the summer when I had a problem with ordering online and the website payment methods kept crashing, and the next time I tried to order the web crashed when entering a discount code and the order went through without it and I emailed Velorution and still haven't had a reply after 2 weeks. The confirmation from Velorution that my bike had been dispatched came after the bike had arrived!
