Do not fall for the sales clap trap from the scoot salesmen, all they are after is your bank account account details and hard earned money, and they will deliver nothing in return. I wasted in excess of £1,500, which I handed over to this bunch, and I got no customers in return. I have since been in contact with other local companies who have had exactly the same experience as myself, with this same company SCOOT. Stay safe, NEVER buy over the telephone. as this is how this company and other companies like them get their sales.

hi i know we have coverage with scoot , for a long time , but service and contact are only when payment needed , every time i speak to some one the number of towns or key words reduces from our original record in ? 1997 ish onwards /not hearing the word scoot from any contacts ,which i have to say must be at an all time low , we sell draught excluders & rubber extrusions to many markets and our phone/ e mail response in 2015 is damm dismal , not sure if scoot pile in any effort any more ?

Tried to say Google teach them how to work with the Google algorithm to get you rankings others can't. Not even Larry Page co founder of Google know that info anymore as they have a thousand or more PHD's who have locked down the knowledge.

I really can't fault the product and services I received from scoot and found the whole process easy and good value for money! I have a very small bed and breakfast and my bookings have dropped due to the larger hotels getting knocked up in the surrounding areas! I desperately needed help in getting my business out there and for me scoot where the experts who done it for me! My SEO ranking has increased to my website and bookings have gone up. I will definitely be renewing my priority listing with them and look forward to doing more business with these experts in the future! I for one are obviously really impressed x thank you scoot :-)

This company is ridiculous. I had a call to get a "Lead Generation Site" I have a few issues with this. First of all I was told not to worry as it was a trial period and no money would be taken until I was happy with the Website. I thought Why not? . It cant do any harm so I gave my detals and was transferred to a girl in the web advisor team. To say she was rude was an understatement she talked down to me. Tutted when i was taking time thinking about what I wanted to appear on a Website for MY Business, a Business I have worked hard for 10 years to build and she kept being repetitive with her questions,to be honest she did not have a clue. And to the "fantastic" website, well my 5 year old could of done a better job. I spoke to someone then called Tracy and dear me her people skills fall into the minus category. I had to hold the phone away from my ear as she was shouting down the phone telling me that I should obviously know this and well I should obviously know that. I felt totally offended by this whole process. The ONLY reason that I am giving this review even one star is due to Daniel and also Allison (Im sorry I do not know the surnames). They were patient, understanding and also took the time to see me as a small Business. You both are a credit to an undeserving company. Beware of this company. Even though you do see results from what I have purchased it has been a total effort and time of which I dont have to waste. A word of advice for your future customers, people who run a small Business dont "know" they are not "obvious " and dont need to be talked to with a rude arrogant tone. I run a Salon not a Web company. You are the experts (apparently).

Scoot is a dishonest thieving company who I had to report to trading standards. For believing them I am an absolute fool, I encourage all others to stay well away from them and use other means such as Facebook & Google. They sold me a premium directory listing for £200 + VAT. It was a very rushed sale. The sales woman told me that my direct competitor received several hundred clicks through to their website each month. This was a lie as I spoke to my competitor who confirmed this. They are a small online business like mine. After a couple of months, it was obvious it was not working, I called up saying I had been mis-sold it. I was told I would be sent the call recording shortly. Nothing turned up a month later so I called back demanding this, but they said that they hadn't recorded the call - don't believe a word of it!! They upgraded the listing but refused to refund a penny. I had to report them to trading standards. Now that the year is up, I have had about 200 clicks to the website - of which some are probably me and Scoot staff, with absolutely no revenue through them (I use Google analytics). Never, ever, deal with this company.

Quite frankly I feel foolish for signing up. I could rant for hours about my experience with these thieves and bullies, but I won't - I'll just keep it simple. If you're getting the lengthy sales calls from the Scoot network - JUST SAY NO! They will show you comparisons of a business 'Similar to yours' and promise you the earth for as little as £1 a day - or better - but take it from me, you will see no results at all, and you may as well burn your money. When I called to complain that I had been lied to and mis-sold the service, the advisor told me that she takes complaints very seriously and that she would 'sit on the fence' before taking a side, and that she would look into the complaint. No surprise that she came back to me to tell me that she felt it was sold to me 'Fair and Square' - Which I can assure you, it wasn't. If you consider spending an hour on the phone with me even after I've expressed that I wasn't interested, for them to tell me that the proof was there, with phrases like, "So you're not interested in getting more business?" and "Your competitors are currently getting all of your business" etc. But hey, I learn from my mistakes, and I NEVER make the same mistake twice. AVOID AVOID AVOID **UPDATE** All you need to know in dealing with Scoot, is precisely in this thread, and take note of how long it took for them to post a response! My post was in 2015 - They responded in 2017... Sums it all up really. Anyone considering using Scoot - I hope you read this thread - don't take the chance to see if it MIGHT work for you, trust me, it won't, we have tested it on your behalf and saved you the time, trouble and money. You're welcome ;-)

I will echo what all the other reviewers so far have said: do not touch them with someone else’s long barge pole! I wish I had looked for reviews before committing to them, but I only did so when I had problems. After many harassing calls, I finally succumbed and took out a Website companion Package and Facebook Booster package. I quickly found they do not keep their word, are self serving, have shoddy workmanship and it is doubtful there could ever be any good out of what they tried to do (except for boosting themselves). I am hoping that their poor service does not in someway damage my SEO which we have worked hard on (possibly not since everything linked to them, not to my own website). I also have a paid for listing on the Scoot Directory but not a single response from that yet, this is not surprising now that I know how it works (or does not work - to be more accurate). This has been a large waste of time on a small business and money thrown down the drain. STAR RATING IS NEGATIVE

I'm embarrassed to admit I let Scoot bully me into using their service for a year. I'll not be making the same mistake again. I was first approached by Scoot for a local directory listing, and after telling them I wasn't interested, I was constantly harassed multiple times per week over a period of a couple of months. In order to help their sales patter, they pointed out that we already had a 'free' entry in their directory which ranked highly for our brand name and top keywords. The rub of course is that they then used this page to advertise our competitors (complete with links to their websites). Eventually I gave in, just in the hopes they would leave me alone, and I could fix the damaged caused by them associating our brand with our competitors. £200 later I was set up on their local directory service. Before the 'ink had dried', Scoot were on the phone again, this time with a different sales person. Their purpose it seemed was to tell me that my local directory listing was ultimately a waste of money, and what I actually needed was a national listing. From what started out at around £1000 for a national listing, I talked them down to £500 on their most popular directory (The Sun) and paid up in the hopes they would stop calling. Now my account is up for renewal. A helpful Scoot employee told me that our organic rankings had benefited from their service and that we'd had over 2000 click throughs from their directories. Wow!! A quick look at my analytics and logs presented a different picture. 6 click throughs and no conversions. When the renewal call came, I told them I had no interest in renewing, so the sales guy said it would be okay to drop the national listing but we should really keep the local listings. When I pointed out they weren't worth pennies, never mind £200 he promptly hung up. The lesson here is that Scoot represents a dying beast when it comes to web marketing. If you do the web right, you don't need directories and Google is actively trying to shut them out. The problem is they'll happily lie to you and line their pockets with your money as long as they can. If they come calling, do yourself a favour and tell them where to go!!!

So I am a brand new to the business world and was very optimistic to creating my business and getting it out there. I had lots of advertising in mind and came across scoot, I could place a free listing. Why not it's free. A day later I got a phone call from scoot saying they could get me more business to me at about 300 plus pounds which gave me all five directories, a net tracker etc I said no way I have just started out my income off the business Is not high enough to accommodate such pricing they went on and on with very pushy sales tactics and seemed to get a bit nasty in tone when It was not going his way. So gave me a choice of 2 packages £99 or a £199 I said I can I think about it, he said he will ring back tomorrow. He did do just that i said despite low budget I will go for the 99 package he said to be honest i would be better off with the other one I said no that will do, and if sales improve I will upgrade. A few days later I got a phone call again stating if I would like to pay £65 a month for a companion website. I was pushed to the point he got fed up and kept sighing. I agreed with the promise that this website will work and will get lots of sales again AVOID I can't stress enough, my website they created was a shambles, full of spelling mistakes and every link you clicked on brought you to the same item so looks like we only sell one product. So avoid Web. Com like the plauge!! Further research States that Web. Com is a scam site that has no interest in helping you. Wish I never came across this site. Must report to watchdog

Do not even let them put in a free listing! Once they do it's phone after phone after phone trying to get you to sign up. Driving me mad. You know its a total waste of money when the sales people get really annoyed that you do not want to buy. They have such a "patter" that it's flipping impossible to get them of your phone if I could add minus numbers I would

I have never felt compelled to write on a review site before though I have occasionally used them - and in this instance I am pleased I have... The constant hassle and over-selling of this company's marketing proposal rang alarm bells with me (several times a day when i had asked for a few days to mull it over) - and a quick glance at all the other reviews - with the exception of just one (fishy....... Scoot employee maybe ?) confirmed my thoughts so thank you - unlike many I was not drawn into this and for that I have the other reviewers to thank.

Good sales pitch, terrible product. I feel embarrassed to have gone ahead with them. They had even tried to lie to me about visitors through them despite me actually being in the profession that monitors these things

I Was called by Scoot last year to have a listing on a couple of websites. I already had a free listing with them and the lady that called me told me i were getting a fair number of hits to my adds but if i paid a fee the company would optimize my adds and then advertise on a couple of other websites for me as well. I think it worked out at 300 Pounds..... I went ahead with it. Saw no significant increase in traffic which she assured me i would get. The year passed and i have been HARASSED! By Scoot! Who keep phoning and phoning and phoning! They call my mobile, My business number constantly. I have resorted to turning my phone off because of them! The new woman told me that i should renew my add with them as it was going to expire. I told her that it was a waste of money the first time i did it so i couldnt see it being worth my money a second time around. She told me that i had had thousands of people click through my adds and come to my website..... Google analytics told me otherwise Which i stated to her. She then proceeded to say "On google analytics do you see organic hits from google?" I replied with yes and she said "Yes that's our advertising" ......... So was she stating that they are now google as well? And organic search results were actually nothing to do with SEO Work that had been on going? there were very rarely any referral links that came from Scoot.... I would AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!

Unpleasant, unprofessional and offensive customer service from an arrogant representative

After being sold the 'national' listing which I have in writing, we were then informed that we had only paid for a 'local' listing which only allows the user to search in their exact post-code which is useless for an online business. I was promised that my concerns would be passed onto a manager and after not hearing anything for 14 days I proceeded to contact them by phone, email and finally left a negative review on Trustpilot. I received a call from Gay, customer service manager (the same day as leaving the review) who agreed that the wording was very miss-leading and we resolved the matter amicably within a few minutes. Whether or not Scoot will bring any value to our business is negligible but on first impressions this was a very bad experience which could have easily been resolved. I feel sorry for the customer service manager having to pick up these type of complaints as this company really needs to get the basics right.

I would give them zero stars if I could. Absolutely appalling customer service.

Ian Clark 13 February 2014, 04:01

I can only echo what has already been said. Absolutely dreadful service and not one sale in 2 years as a result of their so-called advertising. I rang up to complain and go told "well, your profile has had 300 hits" to which I responded "well, my FREE facebook profile has had over 3000 hits (based on the number of people referred to my website through FB)". They refuse point blank to give a refund and tell you that there's no "cooling off period". Absolutely awful company to deal with and I will not be using them again, even a free ad wouldn't be worth having!
