I was cold called by them after I had submitted my new business on their page for a free listing. The sales girl was offering me one of their services called "Submit Trackz" which basically means they submit your business to 525 directories with backlinks for £80.00 and then £20.00 per month to manage. They told me that my listings would all be the premium type i.e. the ones you pay for (more prominent position designed to stand out more etc.) because apparently Scoot have agreed a deal with the directories that they use. This sounded too good to be true so I tested it by asking whether my listing would appear like one of my competitors who had paid for a premium listing on 192.com and was confidently told "YES" I checked again with her and then again and was told it would absolutely be a premium listing not only on 192.com but all the other directories as well. This was the only reason I was signing up and explained that to her. Of course when the listings started to appear they were all the free type which I could have submitted for myself. Although they did eventually agree to give me my money back they were not in the slightest bit concerned about how this service was sold to me and how one of their sales staff could lie so blatantly to win an order. I did manage to get my money back but it took nearly three weeks and a lot of messing around phoning being on hold etc. And now to add insult to injury I have lots of directory listings for my business that have been submitted inaccurately and as they were submitted by scoot I have no editorial control over them, so I am having to call each directory individually to reclaim my business listing before I can resubmit it for myself. NEVER AGAIN SCOOT - PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS BUNCH OF AMATEURS

I guess becaus wasn't getting his juicey commission and spat his dummy out. Well im saving £1200 + vat

In one word No! in two word Really Bad!!! Not good for anything would be the better definition. I've read the reviews and still made an order. Why? Because non of the reviews actually gave me the answer that I was looking for but I'll give it to you now. I saw many people complain about the price, the customer service, not getting any calls from their listings etc. But believe it or not still didn't gave me enough to avoid the service. Why? Because what I was after is their links for seo and that's the story: I've had a call from one of their colleagues and after knocking the price down from very high £££ to a reasonable ££ I've been given 5 links from all of their directories to my website which basically suppose to be very good for seo (5 links from top listings sounds like a good deal) well... not at all. Actually, the moment I've had this links my website dropped 3 pages (yes not 3 positions but 3 pages!!) down in google search results. Removing those listings my page went back up to where it was before. So if you'd like to pay a lot of £££ for getting no calls from priority listings as people mentioned here before and also your website to drop dramatically in search results that a good option. But if you're looking it to help seo do yourself a favour and simply avoid! Thank you scoot for making me pay for this mistake! Won't happen again.

took out a yearly plan with scoot, never got any leads, or any calls was meant to be covering a large area and links to local newspaper websites, got a call for renewal i told them the above they said i was on the local newspaper so looked it up i was but looked up one powered by scoot about 12 miles away and wasn't listed on it at all he asked what i was looking up when i was searching the only reason for this would be so he could get that to go live before i had a chance to look on the site, sadly i feel the rudeness of saying what do i expect for what i paid attitude didn't put much trust in me and leaded me to place a review on here. I WILL NEVER US YOU AGAIN....

So it would appear that no one is available to take my call at the moment because every staff member is on here replying to the shocking reviews! If any of the Scoot staff read this i would really appreciate it if someone could update my listing ASAP as your website is that bad it wont let me submit my changes. Sadly for SEO i have no option but to contact you and change the outdated details.

Another Worst experience with this company. They never tell the truth. They are just searching for the money I guess. I wanted to get them stop providing service as it worth paying nothing. However, they never contact us back even i left several emails even I called them several times. Recommend being far away from this spammy company.

I paid this company over £500.00 pounds on the promise of a prominent position on the search engines and entry onto major search directories. After 2 months we have received no enquires from their site and the other work they did I could have done myself for free. I would avoid this company like the plague.

When they are selling you something, 'the world is your oyster'; loads of promises. A few weeks down the road; loads of excuses. Would that we £200 or £600 per annum, their services are NO GOOD. Their advertising doesn't do anything for your business. Maybe they are one of the biggest waste of money around.

Please avoid this company as you can see by their reviews they are only after your money, you will not get anything in return!!!!!!!

They promised a custom made website, I ended up having a cheap standard template I can't even change. I am trying to cancel everything, they either don't answer the phone or the "system is down". Strange it never happens when you ring the sales line! Don't waste your money.

This is a copy of the review we have posted for web.com. The reason for posting should become apparent. Having searched for a reliable web development, SEO and PPC company Scoot contacted us. However, as development began we became aware that we were dealing with web.com. Putting aside the unauthorised withdrawal of a significant amount of money from our company accounts, thankfully we spotted this in time and claimed the money back under the DD Scheme. Web.com via Scoot promised a website which was, SEO and PPC compliant. Everything was fine until their PPC area manager requested additional pages for a PPC campaign. They copied and pasted the pages from our old website, formatting and fonts were totally different. As an aesthetic, company presentation is paramount! Simple instructions were ignored or just not read. We got a call from our PPC Manager informing us that he had resigned the company due to a catalogue errors, not just with our company. but also others. We are currently pursuing a full refund of payments made via our bank. A customer services manager did contact us to discuss a refund. However when we explained we wished to have a FULL refund as the website they were promoting was not our URL or had been signed off by us the Manager said she would have to phone back. A week later and still no callback, honestly we were not expecting them too.

Scoot is a disappointment of a company. They never provided the services they said they would provide. Their customer service is horrible. They cut the phone on me several times and refuse to pick up. Please don't waste your money and most importantly time with this disgrace of a company.

I received a call this morning and the girl that called me had was clearly trying to get my details. I refused as didn't want them advertised and her attitude changed completely! She was rude, confrontational. I ended up supplying one word answers and told her I wasn't interested. Sort your sales process out!!! Not the way to get new businesses on board in this day and age

I requested and paid for 1 item at the beginning of DEC 2016 which never arrived. I requested an delivery of refund and was offered ScootDollars. No good to me, was promised cash refund to nominated account. Bank details were provided and still no refund. They have however once again offered me ScootDollars. I on't trust that anything that I purchase from this mob will arrive so ScootDollars are useless to me. 27 email exchanges and this matter is still un-resolved. 02/12/2015 to 07/04/2016. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY if you want service.

I finally cancelled my direct debit a few days ago, got a call from a charmless 'lady' who essentially put the blame on me for the fact I got zero traffic from them having forked out £40 a month for the last 7 months. Oh, we don't send traffic reports, oh we don't do traffic forecasts. Guess what, it's because you don't generate any traffic and nobody uses your site. May be of use of use to a bricks and mortar business but Scoot is obsolete in the current digital age. I asked them repeatedly to send me traffic forecasts for the category my business was featured in ... nothing. Really poor all round.

Hanniabal@21 01 April 2016, 16:57

Paid for a featured listing and not even one click came from it as I see in Google Analytics. When the girl was doing sale, she was annoying as hell and shouting like a goat. If you are in business and you believe you are smart enough to make money, you shouldn't believe these guys.

Like most posting reviews on here.... I wish I'd read the reviews before parting with my money. They are nothing more than thieves and con-men. They promised unlimited revisions until I was happy with the website. After the first and second submissions by their so called 'design team' I realised that they were never capable of delivering a website which I could be happy with. Basic... Doesn't even come close to describing the amateur nature of the website that they proposed. It was an embarrassment. I have actually designed better websites using wordpress myself (and I have no prior knowledge of web design). The websites are so basic that the 'design team' are going off of wordpress templates and unable to code so do not even bother asking them for anything that strays outside of the template. Seriously!!!?? A four year old could do a better job. If you are foolish enough like I have been to use these jokers then lets talk about the customer service that you can expect to receive. When I complained I have been met with a stance of "we did not miss-sell this product"... "we told you, our websites are basic" (if they are basic then why offer unlimited revisions till I'm satisfied?).... "I have reviewed the phone call with our sales person and I believe that the product was not miss-sold and NO REFUND WILL BE GRANTED!. Please message me if you have had a similar experience... as I'm sure many of you have. You can email me Ethan(at) EnergyBody Transformation.com as I collecting as much evidence as possible to present to the ombudsman and create a legal action to stop this joke of a company taking money from anyone else.

This is my experience. Unfortunately, only noticing afer a few months of a direct debit going out to Enable Media LTD, we decided to investigate, only to find out that it was Scoot, and after asking around, apparently they cold called and spoke to the first member of staff who answered. They asked the staff to confirm and update our company listing as its out of date, of course the staff gave them our information. In another seperate call, they phoned and asked another member of staff for our bank details (under the false pretence of needing our bank details to make a payment). Never once was there any agreement to advertise (for money) or anything signed, and of course for a contract to be valid, it needs to be made with an authorised signatury of our bank or a director of the company, otherwise it's called stealing in my book. No doubt they hope businesses don't notice the direct debit going out in the myriad of direct debits companies have nowadays. Sorry Scoot but I caught you out and there is a thing called the direct debit guarantee and another thing called review websites. I don't usually post reviews but I am so annoyed and wish to warn others of what happened to me, so I opened the trust pilot account just to warn others. Thanks. Don

I have never made an account or posted a review about a company before, but the dreadful service and product I have received has made me go out of my way to warn others to stay clear of this company. Firstly, one of the two websites I was paying for was mis-sold as I was told they could provide a functionality that can not be provided (after paying the upfront payment). Scoot claimed I would be receiving a refund for this however nothing has been issued as of yet after the first consultation and confirmation that a member of the team would be calling me back about the refund and to update me on the website status I did not hear anything for 2 days. I then called back numerous times and was finally answered, the woman explained I would be called back at a later time (the call was not made) and then again when I called back (again the call was not made). I called back once more and a manager took over the case, explaining I would receive an email to confirm my refund on Friday as well as a phone call to update me on the website status (No email or phone call was received). On the Saturday I did receive an email saying my website is now finished... and what a load of s*** the website turned out to be. Terribly made, the content looked like it was written by a 4 year old. The person did not listen to me when I was telling them about my company as they have therefore written incorrect information. Scoot - If you are reading this, don't ask me 'if you're complaint is still not resolve to get in touch'. Believe me, I will be getting in touch the moment your phone lines open on Monday and if I don't have full confirmation of a full refund I will be taking the matter up with the ASA.
