Made a terrible mess of the SEO work they said they would do. I would advise to stay well clear. Update: I've noticed that Scoot have been replying to the comments here... I bought a listings management service from Scoot to build citations for my website. They then made citations which had the wrong name and address of my business. In addition, they say they give you 500 citational listings, but you actually just get 9. My Reply to your response: Actually doing SEO doesn't take a long time. I paid you to make sure that the Name, Address and Phone Numbers were all matching on my directories - a very simple task and you got that completely wrong which resulted in confusion for my customers and Google's algorithms. I have already cancelled and got my refund. Again, I would advise anyone considering doing any kind of SEO on their website to avoid Scoot and consult a local SEO company.

YORKSHIRE CAR SALES I bought a DS3 for my daughter, from an independent dealer - Yorkshire car sales in Dewsbury. I must say fantastic customer service, really good better than dealerships- great hospitality And best part of it car was best & cheapest in town - got it at a fraction of price - compared to other dealers - we have had the car 6 months now - still as good as new Would strongly recommend 👍 Jonny

Got THE call to 'check' my listing, (we all know the free listing is just the 'in' for the callback to get you to 'upgrade' to the very expensive, mostly worthless paid version). The angle is a promise to get you listed on hundreds of business directories but this is far from good. BE WARNED, these are just some 500 cheap, low quality, tacky directories that will harm your SEO, so rather than be excited at the prospect of this wide coverage, be wary instead. Once I told him I knew how tacky and 'dangerous' these mass listings were, he ended the conversation, he obviously realised I was maybe more knowledgeable about this than some others might be. Literally anyone can start a directory for profit that's why there's so many around, most of course are totally useless but there are good more highly regarded ones but only a tiny handful in comparison, so do some basic research first. Think of directories like this, if your own business was selling high-end supercars from a prestigious showroom in Park Lane, London, you wouldn't want to also be associated with Arthur Daly's tacky back street car lot would you as it would damage your reputation and standing. Edited - Further to the reply from Emma at Scoot, she says "Our list includes very credible sites including Google, Bing, 192.com, Yelp, Foursquare, TomTom and The Independent Business Directory." Yes I will agree with her here, she has mentioned the very best ones and only the best ones, indeed you should be listed on them but these are probably the ONLY ones you need to list on. I find it rather telling that Emma mentions only the best directories, (do they know something most people don't then)? It's the other 400+ that can probably be ignored, certainly I will be ignoring them.

Signed up 12 months ago for £70 one off fee and £20 a month. No identifiable business from it, so I decided to cancel. Emailed them to cancel and received an immediate reply, saying I had to CALL THEM to cancel. Phone numbers on the link they provided were both USA numbers. Searching through here, I found a reply from Web.com, quoting an 0800 number! That's more like it! Wonder why that number isn't mentioned anywhere on their site? Got through and after trying to persuade me that my Google Maps listing place was down to them I finally got them to accept that I wanted to cancel. I was already on page 1 on the Google maps for years before I signed up with them. Fingers crossed, that's the end of it.

Paid for a full website once they get your money they are not interested till the year after will not renew as I did not get one phone call and I only found my website if I typed my name into the search bar beware keep away I took submit tracks out they did not even touch nothing all the adverts are still wrong I did listing on the directory even though I'm at the top not one phone call from it and the website they built look nice but no one could find it so what's the point and now they want me to pay £399 for the directories again they've offered to knock it to 299 for the inconvenience what's the point when I don't get no calls from the adverts

I've always liked this company. I've used their service which I have found useful. Scoot was actually the first company I applied for a job with when I turned 18 in 2000. I managed to do all the tests except the minimum word per minute. I was very upset not getting the job and my confidence level became non existent. If only I got the job... I wouldn't be where I am now which is nowhere and 17 years later. Regrets. So many regrets.

Bullies, I stupidly after a number of harassing calls from Scoot.com signed up to their advertising on all their directories, The Sun, The Times etc as I thought it would help improve my business. Well was I wrong my website tracking showed me that all my sales from site had been refereed from my Facebook & Twitter and not a single sale or referral to my site had come from Scoot.com. I personally have spent over £500 on their advertising and feel that it was a huge scam as no way of finding any Stats that they refereed people to my sites... SCAM and CON. I was called two weeks ago and about renewing and after a half hour listening to how its going to damage my site blah blah that I dont renewal I still cancelled. Today 24/7/2017 - I was called by a Emma from Web.com asking why I had cancelled and that they had taken over Scoot and was finding out why I cancelled. She seemed apologetic and listened to why I cancelled and I thought she was just getting information so she could investigate further. Nope as BAM I can help you still and do it at the same cost as last year £150 + Vat so all of a sudden a nice listening chat became a sales call again. I am dissapointed that their are still companies like this out there and get away scamming innocent Hard workers trying to grow their businesses. I advise Stay away from them !!

I stupidly signed up for a free business listing with Scoot.com! Following doing so I received a phone call that went on to last 20+ minutes that I was told was to 'ensure the details provided were correct.' The penny should have dropped when 'Lewis' was asking me if I minded signing up to various business directories. He was desperately trying to find an angle to sell me the services ukweb.com offer. Apparently for a one off payment of £80 and then £20 a month thereafter ukweb.com will register your business on 500+ directories with premium listings. I told him I'd call him back later with my answer. After a quick Google it soon became apparent this offer was a complete scam. Those who signed up to the service received no premium listings and noticed no increase in traffic or backlinks to their websites. After hearing back from 'Lewis,' I told him my company weren't interested in ukweb.com's service due to the negative feedback I'd read online about their services. They then proceeded to call me every day afterwards with the same sales pitch. I have now asked them to remove me from all of their free listings, which might I add; I haven't been able to find whilst searching Google for my company. Hopefully this will stop them hounding me with calls. AVOID AVOID AVOID!

DO NOT USE Took out submit trackz and the moment my payment was made no a link to create an account and no password. Call back and excuse "Oh our system is down , I'll call you back with a password" Yep you guessed it no password. Even tried to sell me more addons before my problems had been resolved. I have since studied who the post to and no suprise that the 500+ classifieds are ones you have never heard of and as for the ones you have well they don't post to those except their own! Totally useless and bogus This system will not help with ranking one jot. I feel foolish about ever using them :-(

I had issues calling our company for advertising with themselves and claiming to be recognised as a authority and recognised by Google I was informed by the lady on the phone. I asked her Did Google ask you to phone us ? No she replied well why say Google are your partners in advertising? Its a SCAM keep well away! As a business user we will not entertain phone calls like this and suspect any company like this cold calling you is up to no good.

After they had pested me with tonnes of sales calls I finally went for a paid for listing. Waste of money. I had no single enquiry from scoot or any of their network websites. At some point I noticed that my paid for listing looked the same as regular listings (no videos, links etc) and I reported the issue. They completely ignored it on multiple occassions and I have not had a reply. Instead I kept getting calls pesting me to renew my listing even though I was telling them that they didn't give me what I paid for in the first place. I'd like a refund but they don't reply at all!

I have never felt the need to publish a review about any site or company in the past but the way this company takes you money and gives you almost nothing back is not far short of criminal. Signed our company up to the Priority listing package earlier in the year which gets you listed with the Sun/Mirror/Independent listing pages. Looking through our analytics for the last 6 months we had one click through to our website from the Sun directory and that was me checking it actually worked. I can't see any from the others and less than 20 from Scoot itself. Obviously we won't be renewing despite the relentless hounding from their sales team.

I made the mistake of signing up for the free listing (my webhost suggested this would be useful - I can only assume they are on the make). Since then I have been plagued with calls from their number. Half the time I pick up the receiver and the line goes dead. When I do get a person on the end of the phone, they swear blind that they are not calling to market anything, but just as a courtesy to discuss my listing & website (as if!). After I had done a reverse look up when I had five calls in the space of a couple of hours (all disconnected) I realised that bombarding people with calls is their modus operandi. If they call now (they'll usually say they are calling from web.com) I just cut them off at the outset. Last week I got told I was rude because I said I was interested before the caller got into her spiel - I pointed out in no uncertain terms that persistently calling me at my home was rude and annoying. I told her I would NEVER pay them for anything as I had seen so many adverse comments on the internet and I asked her to ensure that no-one called me again. Guess what? They don't understand the simple word 'no', never mind that really complicated phrase "I am not interested". I emailed them about a week ago to find out how I could de-list my business - they haven't bothered to respond. Today I had an email telling me business couldn't be found because the phone number was incorrect on my listing. It isn't which they should surely have known since the email arrived about ten minutes after they had called using the same number!!! Just avoid even taking a free listing from these muppets.

Called to review our listings and explained that our MD would not be the best person to speak to and I would be happy to see if I could help. Asked if I could authorise payments and I explained we would not be paying for anything so she asked if I did marketing and I said no but I did Business Development and she hung up on me!! Very unprofessional and rude!

I won't bore you with the details but will offer some bullet points: - You really are dealing with an unprofessional organisation. - Some of the items in my package were not delivered and still cannot be. - Log a support call and you will be ignored (multiple times). - Send an email and you will be ignored (multiple times). - I went against my own better judgement in dealing with this lot. - All the previous reviewers are correct so don't waste your time and money testing it out for yourself - we've wasted our time and money so take advantage of this. - 1* is too much for these. - A guy had the nerve to try and upsell submittrackz and when i said i wanted my issues fixed first, he just proceeded down his calling script. Now im refused a refund which was requested within 14 days (even though they have cancelled a second payment). They now have a customer who does not want to do business with them and in their eyes they may as well take my money anyway since i won't be a repeat customer. What usually happens now is that a person called Emma will post a stock response which includes the line: "We do appreciate all feedback, good or bad and use this information to continually evaluate and improve our systems, processes and customer interactions." I can see this line being used in 2015. Clearly they do not improve their systems, processes and customer interactions as we are two years down the line. Find a drain and throw your money down there. AVOID. ------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Response by Emma below is typical of how they operate. They are really sorry and they have apparently met me half way (meaning tell lies, provide rubbish service, ignore requests and then say meet you half way as a token gesture!) My guess is that they have paid out the commission to their lying salesperson and don't want to cover it knowing i will not be a repeat customer.

How lucky am I! I had a call from this company via a freebie web check which picked up a few issues that my web guy can fix. I was on the phone over an hour telling me how good they were. I said I needed my web guy to verify a few things and he pointed me to these reviews. I have just had a lucky escape! Adam rang me today and talked the reviews down but I can honestly believe every one. From the other side and not needing to cancel an order it is not surprising to see all the apology replies are short and sweet to show a little recompense but probably result in the same lost time following up, recovering or cancelling an order. It's a minefield out there of companies promising the earth and failing to deliver. All I can say is be careful and get a second opinion. Incidentally a third phone call is pending, the hard sell continues!
