We've had a great experience with Pinwheel. Sure there are hiccups or glitches, but support has come through every time with answers or elevated cases to help the backend of the system work better. The system does what we expected - help us talk more about technology as a family to set up healthy habits and gain wisdom about the pitfalls of technology. It's great to start younger tech users out with this type of platform because when they are older, they are more aware and can understand parenting choices and the world around them.
Did the online chat to reorder a phone for my daughter that she had broken. The online chat guy was super fast and efficient, which I appreciate. Felt like I was talking to an actual REAL person. And it took like 1 min.

Purchased a pinwheel phone for my 12 year old who is not ready for social media and internet. You have to purchase their phone, which is a BLU. Not the most durable phone. I did like that you can monitor the texting and set time limits, but the software issues we had were extremely frustrating. One day my daughters phone just wouldn't work, so I reached out to customer service. Apparently there was a glitch on Pinwheels end that was causing the phones not to work and everything needed to be reset to factory settings. They told me it would be at least a week until the tech people could send me the information to update the software that needed to go on the phone. Why would I pay for a service that my kiddo cannot even use due to their glitch? And no one even reached out to inform me about the glitch and how long it would take to fix.
Chen B was so helpful in assisting me in updating my credit card info. She was patient in navigating me through a new link (sent by her) to make a payment and then update my info in my parent dashboard. Very professional and didn't "leave" the chat until all was resolved. Valuable team member.
