Purchased an external LPD Derby Leaded 2L Glazed M&T External "hardwood" Door through Bradfords, a local Builders merchants. Door arrived and looked fine bar one small (8x10x30mm) split at the top which I though I could just glue back. That bit went okay! However, I then planed between 1 and 2mm off each side and found the mortices were very poor, with loose wedges and powder filler covering very poor construction. A few wedges just fell out as they had no glue on them, plus they were only about 25mm long! The veneer was loose on the bottom stile. The mouldings are only 3mm thick in some areas, okay for fine furniture made from quality timber, but NOT for external doors! The internal glazing beads are so thin they are pinned in place with "nails" that are thinner than domestic staples. Also suspect that one hard blow to the glass would see the beads just fall off. The bottom panels are only 9mm thick at the perimeter, providing almost no insulation value. I could go on, sadly I can't post photos here. Extremely annoyed and very disappointed. Not a cheap door, LPD warranty is a farce, plane off one shaving and a return is void!! EDIT: I have sent details and photographs to Bradfords who have forwarded them to you. I look forward to a less dismissive response.

Would you believe it this is my third attempt at getting the doors delivered and dare i say it they have come damaged again!!!, I don’t know what else I can really say anymore I get the same scripted apology every time if I go back to when I originally placed my order it is now close to a full month and yet still not got my order in good condition absolute JOKE!
